I couldn't take my eyes off my reflection. It was the first and the only time I saw what my face and body looked like in person.
A pair of eyes and a pair of ears were attached to my face.
The absence of a mouth seemed to explain the way our species communicated.
A short hair was spread on my half-wet head. Every part of my face and my body was bleached in white.
No more mistakes. I and everyone here, belong to the same species.
I continued my steps and looked around. I have to be extremely careful due to how crowded this place was. There was hardly any space that was not occupied by them—both above and below. Be careless for a second, I might bump into someone’s body.
I had already decided what I should do next, to gather information. Unfortunately, the information must have either come from my observation or someone's explanation.
The first option was not possible due to how crowded this place was, and neither was the first option. I was already skeptical that I would get any answer from somebody.
If anyone was willing to answer me or give me an explanation, then I would have to find someone relatively new like me.
However, such a task was not an easy feat. At the end of the day, my options were limited. I then decided to try to talk to somebody, so I greeted them one by one.
I greeted everyone that I passed through, but no one decided to reply to my greeting.
There were a few people who glanced at me for a moment, but they quickly turned their heads back and continued on their way.
This got me wondered. Just what made them behave like that? Weird wasn’t it? It wasn’t just one or two people, but almost all of them.
Just what have they been through that they had turned like this? Did each of them suffer the same pain as mine, just to get to this place?
After all, I was not in the right position to judge them. At the very least, I who had previously ignored someone who asked for my help had no right to judge their behavior.
Maybe there was someone I could talk to.
The problem was, how could I find that person when there were thousands of being identical to him in this place including myself?
With no one to talk to, this situation was no better than before. The difference was that this time I was trapped in a crowd instead of silence. I didn‘t know which one was worse, but what I did knew was that both were equally painful.
Not getting any answer from anyone, I gave up. I decided to stay away from the crowd and found a mound of rock in the corner of the cave that was quieter than the other places.
I sat back, looking at the crowd in front of me. All of them flew and walked by without paying any attention to each other.
Where were they going and what were they going to do? Isolating myself like this made me look "in contrast" with what happened in front of me.
They knew what they were going to do, I didn't.
They knew where were they heading, I didn't.
An ironic contrast between knowing and not knowing.
“!!!!!”
Suddenly, I heard an otherwordly sound vibrating and blasting my eardrums. I didn't know what it was, but it was nothing I’d ever heard off.
I was not the only one who heard it, but everyone else too. I could assume that after seeing the crowd in front of me suddenly stopped their steps in unison while looking in one direction.
Everyone stopped their respective activities. Those who walked stopped walking, and those who flew descended and stop moving their wings.
It was as if that voice had become a voice that could tame everyone. Either way, the source of the sound must be beyond our understanding.
"Adonis."
One of them spoke a word I didn't know the meaning of.
"Adonis, Adonis, Adonis." The other then replied, followed by another, and on and on until it became a chain reaction.
“Adonis, Adonis, Adonis, Adonis, Adonis, Adonis, Adonis, Adonis, Adonis, Adonis, Adonis, Adonis, Adonis, Adonis, Adonis, Adonis, Adonis, Adonis.”
It didn't take long for the entire crowd to chant the same word—Adonis. I didn't know what that was, and I didn't know why they were all chanting that word either.
"Adonis." Without realizing it, I chanted the word by itself. What did I say? Why did I say things I didn't even know?
"Adonis, Adonis, Adonis, Adonis." I kept chanting.
For some reason, those words seemed to just flow through my mind. I didn't know what happened, but it all seemed natural.
After chanting the name “Adonis” for a pretty long time, we stopped at the same time. How did it work? I didn't know. It was as if we were being controlled by something.
Suddenly, the crowd simultaneously walked in the same direction. The previously disorganized crowd lined up in a neat group.
I, too, did the same. But this wasn't due to my curiosity at all. This was the same feeling I felt when I said the name Adonis.
I didn't know why, but I did it anyway.
Adonis. What was the meaning of that word? If he was a person, who was he and why was everyone chanting his name? Whoever Adonis was, I believe that he had power over us, and could control us as he pleased.
I slipped into the crowd and walked in the same direction as them. This was my first time in this cave, but my feet were walking on their own as if leading me somewhere.
I was nervous. Adonis, that word echoed in my head. Whatever and whoever Adonis was, he was definitely something that was beyond our reach.
Then, we arrived at a place.
I could not describe what I have just seen.
I saw Him. I saw Adonis.
He was so huge that I could only see His feet. He sat on a throne that was no less big than Him. His towering body was gigantic, making us who were standing looking at Him in awe looked like mere dust.
A light shone very brightly from His body. But the light did not blind my eyes but instead gave a sensation of comfort.
Adonis was a majestic and graceful figure. It was an insult to compare a being like Him to us.
The crowd then formed a circle to surround Adonis. There were thousands of us, but we moved in harmony. Then, like magic, I and the others knelt to Him in unison.
I didn't feel any compulsion. It was as if everything I did was my instinct when I saw something that existence was far greater than me.
It was an act of worship and submission.
Then after we knelt for a pretty long time, suddenly a loud voice echoed in my head.
"O mine children."
His voice was deep, yet warm and affectionate. No one moved the slightest when Adonis spoke.
Everyone bowed and listened.
“Thou are born from mine summon, thou are live because I allow thou to. I am thy creator and thou art mine creation. Hail mine name, for thou are bound by me.”
He spoke in a different language from us, but we could understand Him well. No, maybe it was Him who allowed us to understand his words.
“I welcome thou to mine kingdom, and I congratulate thou for surpassing any obstacle that bear thee from reaching hither.
“I am the king of this kingdom. The one whom stood beyond all's, the one whom create thee and this orb, the one whom granted thou an intent to live.”
Adonis was our creator. When I heard that, my body could feel nothing but goosebumps. How couldn’t I? At that moment, I came face to face with my creator—my God. My God was talking to me.
“I pity 'em whom failed at their journey. But they were not dead, they were coming back to mine hand, their creator, waiting for me to resurrect 'em again.
“Thou whom join hither for the first time, and thou who already a resident of this kingdom. I won't bid something that is beyond thy capability.
“Obey and bow to me. Worship and pray to me. For I decide thy live, death, and fate.
“In return, I shall grant thee comfort and safety. I shall grant thee a place to live, a place to flourish, and a place thee hath bid a home.”
Adonis asked us to continue to submit to Him. That was something I couldn't deny, wasn’t it? It was the command of the very being that created us from nothingness.
“Yes, Adonis."
In unison, we gave the same answer while continuing to kneel.
“Now thou art allowed to live and flourish 'i this kingdom of mine. Congratulation, o mine children, for completing every ordeal that I grant thee.
“Thy most intent of living is to submit to me. So ne'r forget what thy intent is.”
Then the light that radiated from Adonis' body began to fade. I didn't know what was going to happen. But as Adonis' light fades, we continued praising Him.
“Praise be upon our Lord Adonis! Praise be upon our lord, Adonis!"
We praised Him. Again, all of this felt like sheer instinct to me. An instinct to submit when faced with a power we could never reach.
“Praise be upon our Lord Adonis! Praise be upon our lord, Adonis! Praise be upon our Lord Adonis! Praise be upon our lord, Adonis! Praise be upon our Lord Adonis! Praise be upon our lord, Adonis!"
Without us knowing, Adonis had disappeared from our sight.
My body didn't want to move from the kneeling position. The feeling of submission was still surrounding me—and maybe others. It was difficult to stand up after what Adonis have said to us.
Adonis said it very clearly, that our very purpose to live here was to continue to submit to Him. That was the only purpose of all beings created by Him.
Of course, I could never go against Him. I was just one of the millions of creatures he created. A grain of dust when compared to Him, whose existence could be wiped out at any moment if Adonis wanted to.
A creature whose whole life depended on Him, something that couldn't exist without His intervention.
Went against His orders was something I could never think of, I thought. He had given me everything I need to live.
If the price that I had to pay for all the blessings He gave to me was to continue to submit to Him, then I could do nothing but obeyed his orders.
Adonis was everything, and everything came from Adonis. To oppose Adonis was to denounce everything in this world, including me.
Hail Adonis.
One by one, each of us got up from his knees and started to leave this place. The place that used to feel quiet and solemn because of Adonis' divine presence, then began to be abandoned.
The crowd that was once compact, was then back into being disorganized again. Those who were previously united by Adonis returned to their original state.
I also rose from my knee and began to turn my body. Although I didn't know what I would do from then, but at least I knew what I was living for—subject to Adonis.
When I turned around, I saw someone standing outside this place. That was absurd, it was the same creature as us, why didn't he kneel to Adonis?
He was looking at me as if observing me slowly. But when our eyes met, he quickly turned his face away and walked away rather quickly from this place.
I was surprised for a moment. I thought that he—whoever that was—was someone I could talk to!
This was an unexpected encounter. I couldn't lose him, I didn't know why he was staring at me, but I would find out soon!
I didn't want to lose track of him, so I tried to chase after him with everything I had. I believed that he was different from everyone. He was someone who could save me from this loneliness!I immediately got out of the place where we used to worship Adonis before. I turned my head left and right to look for him, and finally, I found him running into the crowd.I had to hurry. He could be the answer to all the questions swirling in my head. I hastily chased after him in the crowd. But because I was too focused on him, I didn't pay much attention to my surroundings. As a result, I suddenly bumped into someone.I fell, but the person that I bumped into didn't. He just looked at me for a while and continued his journey back. I didn't really mind the pain, because right now my priority was chasing him.But then, he was no longer to be found. After I stood back up to look for his whereabouts, I no longer saw his figure. Maybe he blended into the crowd to hide from me.I didn't remember it
"To fight him, you need to do the opposite. Doubt Adonis. Doubt his truth. Doubt his words. Doubt his affection. Doubt his power."Her hands went up to my cheeks, forcing me to look into her eyes and listen carefully. While staring intensely at my eyes, she said, "doubt Adonis, Jehova."My body fell silent as if I was petrified by her words. She kept trying to persuade me to rebel against Adonis.Everything she said sounded believable, but her "aggressive" methods made me feel a little bit hesitant to comply. However, despite her orders, there was one thing that distracted me for a while."J-Jehova? What do you mean by that?"She removed her hand from my face and took a few steps back from me. Still, in the same tone, she replied, "it's nothing, it's just a name I made for you.""A name?""Mhm, a name."I never thought about it.Name. I knew that "Adonis" was also a name. But I thought He deserved a name because He was different from me and the others.Adonis was one almighty figure.
All this time, I had been huddled alone in this damp, cramped, dark prison. This place didn’t even deserve to be called a prison. The 'prison' that surrounded me, is no less than a shabby eggshell that could only fit me inside. Therefore, it never occurred to me that one day, I would be released from the prison that had confined me from the outside world since the very beginning of my life.It was weird. This place had never changed before, even though time seemed to have passed by forever. Inside this “prison”, I didn't feel conscious, nor that I was fully aware either. It was as if this prison was forcing me to stay asleep, constantly dreaming in a deep long slumber without any need to be sentient. Then, slowly but surely, the layer of the shell that had been preventing me from being free began to crumble. I couldn't hear it clearly, but I could feel the cracking sound slowly starting to crawl, finding its way to my ears.As the crack grew bigger, the light that had been halted for

Even if I found the most beautiful place I could imagine, I would not be able to shake off my fear of this terror that lay before me.In short, this horror would be etched in my memory forever. But of course, I couldn't just stay there. To distract myself from that terror, I tried to gather my motivation back.Right, I still didn't know where the light up there came from. I still believe that I could find the place that I was aching to look for, if I continued my journey, following that trace of light.I didn't know if I tried too hard to push myself or not. But I knew that I was trying my very best just to forget the nightmare-like sight I have just seen. With that, I turned my face away, refusing to accept
After my mind was recovered, I immediately got up and decided to continue exploring this cave.I can't say that I've been able to forget that incident completely. The guilt and fear still haunted me.I couldn't deny that I was a selfish coward who only thought about myself. I wanted to be safe, I wanted to be able to leave that place unharmed. It felt like my mind was poisoning myself. However, I couldn't stop here.It was too late to turn back, and the only option was to keep moving forward. From the first time I decided to leave, I should have realized that there wouldn't be any way to turn back. That was what made me finally decide to continue my journey.By now, I was quite far from the cave entrance. Since the light source was too far from here, it was completely pitch black inside this cave. With that, I decided
