CHAPTER TWELVE: Another Suggestion

" This is another meeting on this same serial murder cases. All the suggestions we've been addressing,is still not yielding as expected," James lamented, they were just about to start their meeting.

" It's quite unfortunate, even the people are making it worse. I switched on the television yesterday but the news channel was interviewing the people regarding this case. The comments on the police were bad Sir," Ken narrated.

" The people are loosing their trust in us especially with the death of the police commissioner. They felt that if we could not protect the police commissioner, how are we going to protect them?" Alex also narrated his ordeal with the people.

" I think this is what the killer want. The killer want the people to give up on the police. This is a case full of mystery. We need to take our time to handle the case,if we don't want to end up apprehending the innocent as the killer," James said.

" Any news about the strange man?" He asked.

" We're still on the look for him,it is as if he disappeared into thin air," Angelina said.

" This is really serious. If only we can get his name,it will save us a lot of troubles," Alex said.

" Did you input his portrait on the billboards?" James asked.

" Yes sir, even at the airport and the outskirts of each town," Ken answered.

" Inform the police at each area to tighten the security, and make sure they check each person very well, the person is still in Raw, there's no doubt about that," Ven said.

" Okay Sir, I will inform them," Ken said.

" Now back to today's discussion, the last meeting we agreed to make research on the victims. The previous serial murder cases,we observed that they were able to solve the case because they were able to link the victims together. Did anybody find out anything common among the victims?" James asked.

" I did my investigation but no matter how I tried, there was nothing that could link them together. I feel that the killer is just bloodthirsty and the reason for the murders," Alex said.

" Why do you think so?" James asked him.

" The first victim recorded was Beckh and he was working at the prosecutor's office but wasn't a prosecutor. He was just assisting in the cases transferred to the prosecution department. The second victim Collins opened a store few months ago. He was working at Drent Media but was dismissed for misconduct. He then opened a store but didn't know he will become the killer's victim."

" All this illustrates that there was no link between them. I compared their history with the police commissioner but there was nothing similar apart from the nature of the killing," Alex explained.

" What about their roots?" James asked.

" I don't really understand that?" Alex said.

" I mean are they from the same town?" James explained.

" No they are not from the same town. That is why I concluded that it's a random killing," Alex stated.

" Who again worked on that?" James asked.

" Just like Alex said, there was nothing similar among the victims but I noted something," Precilia said.

" What did you notice?" James asked. He was not interested in any suspense. Ending the case is paramount to him,so that he will be able to sleep well at night. He has not been able to have a good night rest since the case began and it got worse when the police commissioner was also murdered.

" Beckh and the police commissioner had something in common. Beckh worked at the prosecutor's office while another victim is the police commissioner. We all know that the police and the prosecution department are interrelated. They both can do without each other since they both strive to deal with criminals. While I think that Collins was just a random killing in order to confuse the police from identifying the right angle to handle the case. What if the killer was once a victim of that?" Precilia asked throwing it to them, you will know she really worked on the case.

" You mean if the killer was once punished by the law and the two of them were behind his arrest?" James asked, this is what he had been expecting.

" Exactly,he could have been jailed and maybe he's just trying to take out his revenge on them," Precilia said.

" Is that not a quick assumption?" James asked.

" I feel like that is the only assumption my brain could process. There's nothing that can link a serial killer to a police officer and a prosecution agent that is different from this," Precilia said while others nodded in affirmation to her statement.

" So if we've concluded on that, what is the next thing to do?" James asked.

" We can mark out the cases the two of them did together. After marking it out,we start ruling out the possibility of the killer among them," Ken said.

" That is a good suggestion and work should start on that sooner. We all know the killer will strike soon so let us work on that as quick as possible. When we are able to mark them out, then the next thing will be to find out other people that assisted them. They are likely the next victims," James said.

" Before I forget, I got information that it was two letters that was sent to the police commissioner that day and not one," he said, and could notice the shock on their faces,he expected that.

" When I went through the letter, I was tempted to visit the late police commissioner's home to search because I felt some sense of familiarity in the letter which means they had a history which is likely as Precilia said. When I went through the house, I found something suspicious," James said.

" Like what?" Ken asked him.

" A necklace with the letter C inscibed on the necklace. What made it suspicious was the fact that the killer drew that in the letter.....
