Hunting

Being patient, is the most difficult thing to do. And that's really what Aji feels every second of it. His heart often wavered and wanted to come out of hiding to look for animals directly. Because his stomach is really hungry. However, repeatedly Aji was able to endure the impatience. He even propped up his empty stomach, with leaves.

"Someone is coming," Skotd voiced.

Aji immediately prepared.

And in less than 2 minutes, an antelope cub approached the trap while eating the grass around the trap.

"Be careful. Your opponent is pretty tough," Skotd said quietly.

Aji smiled confidently while staring at the antelope boy.

"Just a small antelope. There is nothing to worry about."

Skotd smiled meaningfully after hearing Aji's answer.

"It's up to you. But remember, don't get hurt. If not, then our history is over– ah no. Not us. I mean, it's your history that is coming to an end."

"What are you talking about? Do you underestimate me for slaughtering a gang of thugs? Don't underestimate me, old man."

"You shouldn't be too big-headed just because you've slaughtered a group of insects. Remember, all your power comes from me as well as your ancestors," Skotd replied.

"Well.... Well.... Don't say anything else. Don't disturb my concentration. I will catch the fawn after it gets into my trap!" said Aji

With a look in lazy eyes, Skotd just let out a long sigh. Then said nothing.

Aji is still paying attention to the antelope cub. The antelope cub's back foot is less than a little bit more about to step on the trap.

"Come on.... Take another step back...." Aji thought while hoping that the antelope boy took a step back. But unfortunately that didn't happen. The antelope cub suddenly held his head up and looked at the bushes where Aji was hiding.

"Does he know that I'm watching him?"

For a moment, Aji thought that the antelope boy had noticed his existence. So Aji hurriedly held his breath. Because Aji thought that the antelope boy could smell his body scent.

"Let's eat again! And step on the trap..." inner Aji said.

The antelope cub was still silent with his neck elevated. And a few seconds later, the antelope boy walked closer in the direction towards Aji.

"Hey! Why did you come here instead! Look over there! There is a lot of fresh grass there!" said Aji silently.

But the antelope still stepped closer. Until finally, the antelope boy came to the bushes where Aji was hiding. Aji still held his breath. Hope that his whereabouts are still unknown to the antelope boy. Amidst the panic, Aji didn't move a bit.

"Stupid," Skotd voiced.

"What's more? I told you to shut up, right?"

"I just digress. Go ahead," Skotd said.

Aji clucked irritably.

Arriving in the bushes, the antelope cub that Aji thought was already aware of his existence, now began to eat the leaves in the bushes.

"My goodness... It turns out that you just want to eat these leaves huh? Just panic," said Aji who realized something a second later.

"You fool," Skotd chirped when Aji realized it.

"Yes-yes.... I am indeed stupid. It's been quiet," Aji retorted.

"Not stepping on the trap, it doesn't matter. With this close distance, I can easily catch you," said Aji.

Aji prepared. He made sure his move to catch the antelope cub was really successful. Because if it fails, he will most likely wait for the next potential prey.

In a matter of seconds, when the antelope child was still engrossed in chewing leaves. Aji immediately darted to catch the antelope boy.

"I GOT YOU!" exclaimed Aji in excitement.

And for the umpteenth time, Skotd made fun of Aji again.

"Stupid," Skotd said.

"You still call me stupid again! What do you want? I've caught it. At least give a compliment!" said Aji who did not accept being insulted stupidly continuously.

"Look behind you," Skotd said.

"What's more?" asked Aji, bringing his gaze back. And when Aji turned his head, he saw a large Kijang right behind him.

"Do you think, this antelope cub has no mother? You're in too much of a hurry and forget to pay attention to everything. Especially this matter."

"Why didn't you say from the beginning that there is a mother too!"

"Even a fool knows that where there is an animal cub, there is also a mother," replied Skotd.

"Then, what should I do now? The mother looks very angry," Aji said with a panicked look.

"What do you think? Do we have to apologize and say that we were forced to eat his son because we were starving? Or let go of his son and leave here as soon as possible?" replied Skotd which further confused Aji.

"Take it off?" Aji saw the antelope boy he was still holding. He was not sincere when he released the antelope cub that he had caught. What's more, his stomach is already very starving.

"I can't let go, I'm already starving once!" said Aji.

"Then subvert the mother. But you need to know, for this time, I won't lend you my power. You have to fight it on your own," Skotd said.

"What?! Are you crazy? Do you intend to kill me?"
