Epic 4
Peter awoke four hours later, his stomach grumbling. He was ravenous; it felt like his intestines were desperate for sustenance. Finding the kitchen empty and Lisa nowhere in sight, he assumed she had left. Baffled by the kitchen's bare state, Peter grabbed his phone and ordered some food. Leaving his kitchen he got shocked as he walked past his kitchen mirror only to find his face covered with red Lipstick. “Lisa!”. He yelled annoyed as he went to wash it off, after which he headed to the sitting room to unwind. Peter stood in shock, his legs nearly frozen at the sight of the disarray in his living room. Lisa's laughter filled the air, her attention fully absorbed in the TV series she was watching, oblivious to his presence. Peter took a deep breath, calming himself, and quietly took a seat on the couch. The doorbell echoed through the room, and as Peter rose to answer it, Lisa finally noticed him. "Babe?" she called out, following him to the door. "Oh, food!" Lisa exclaimed as Peter accepted the delivery and made his way to the kitchen. Lisa's worry grew as Peter seemed to ignore her. "Aren't you going to talk to me?" she asked, nearly in tears, resting her hands on his shoulders. "I'm sorry, I needed to eat to regain my energy before responding," Peter apologized, heading to the fridge for a chilled glass of water. "I'm sorry you had to go through this. See why I told you to get me a maid? The housework is stressful, and my nails are too polished for cooking. You know I don't cook, right?" Lisa attempted to justify her actions, settling onto Peter's lap, trying her best to make him smile. "Are you mad at me?" she asked softly, playing with his hair. "It's fine. I'm not mad at you, just annoyed with the agency for not sending anyone over yet." Peter's voice softened, but a hiss of annoyance escaped his lips. “I fired her already, I was…” “What?! You fired her? When, how, why? Why didn't you seek my consent before doing that? Do you realize that is the last person in the industry?! Gosh!”. Resentment was written all over Peter as he angrily stood up while pushing Lisa away. I tried telling you, but you didn't pick up my call. I'm so sorry, babe. I didn't mean to upset you. She just wasn't good enough for the job." Lisa whimpered, clutching Peter tightly. "It's okay. I'll try to find another person," Peter said, gently kissing her forehead. "Thanks, babe. I love you," Lisa whispered in his ear, still holding him close. The sweet scent of Peter's clothes seemed to keep her pinned to him. Peter struggled to free himself but couldn't. "I need to call my PA," he finally managed to say. "Sure," Lisa said with a deep exhale, releasing her grip. She stood waiting for Peter to finish the call. His saddened expression spoke volumes about the outcome. "No hope?" Lisa asked, her concern evident. Peter nodded gently. "Why don't you choose from your staff? In the meantime, one of the cleaners or chefs could work here until I leave. Don't you think that's a good idea?" Lisa suggested. "It doesn't sound like a bad idea. I'll have to talk to one of them, then," Peter whispered, smiling. He couldn't stop blushing at the thought. "But who will it be?" he wondered to himself, glancing at Lisa. "You've been smiling for a while now. Why is that? Are you thinking about us, huh?" Lisa asked with a smile, moving closer to Peter. She pulled his hand to her tiny waist, staring lustfully into his eyes. Peter was completely swept away by the atmosphere as he leaned closer, savouring every moment with Lisa. "I've been waiting for this moment," Lisa moaned, leaning closer to Peter. Her breath quickened as she leaned in for a kiss. "Were you really thinking about our future?" Lisa whispered in his ear. "St-op," Peter struggled to say as thoughts of Nora crossed his mind. Lisa didn't seem to notice, her hands exploring every part of Peter's body. "Please st-op," Peter pleaded as Lisa began unbuttoning his shirt and kissing him. "Stop!" Peter finally yelled, his breath fast and uneven. His shout scared Lisa, and she pulled away, her heart racing with fear. "What happened? Did I do something wrong?" Lisa whispered gently after catching her breath. "Sorry, you didn't do anything. I think I need some water," Peter apologized immediately and headed to the fridge. Peter struggled to understand his reaction. Why had he suddenly thought of Nora? What was this feeling he experienced whenever her name was mentioned or when she crossed his mind? He tried to rationalize his thoughts but found himself more conflicted than ever. Meanwhile, Lisa was left to wonder about Peter's sudden change in behaviour. Had she misread their connection, or was something else weighing on his mind? Uncertainty filled her thoughts as she attempted to piece together what had just happened. "Babe, are you okay now?" Lisa asked, her voice laced with concern, as she entered the kitchen. "Yeah, I think I need a little rest," Peter mumbled, heading to his room. Confused, Lisa watched him leave. She checked her body, hair, and breath. "I don't smell bad," she whispered to herself, pondering the situation. "Is he cheating on me?" The thought struck her like lightning, and she stormed into the bedroom. "Are you cheating on me?" Lisa demanded furiously. Peter stared at her in shock, the word reverberating in his mind. "Cheating?" he whispered, a bewildered smile forming on his lips. "Are you kidding right now?" "No, baby, I'm sorry I doubted you. I was just concerned. You didn't even try to touch me or reciprocate the kissing and... you know. I'm sorry, I was just worried," Lisa apologized, joining him on the bed and resting her head on his chest. "Umm... I wasn't going to say that, though," Peter whispered, his voice tinged with innocence. "Then what?" Lisa asked, her troubled heart pounding as she gazed at Peter, searching for answers in his eyes. Peter hesitated, unsure of how to express his thoughts without hurting her feelings. He knew his behaviour was unusual, but it was rooted in his confusion about his feelings, not any infidelity. "I just... I needed some space," he finally admitted, knowing the words sounded feeble. "It's not about you. I'm dealing with some things I don't fully understand yet." Lisa listened intently, her worry only partially alleviated by his explanation. Still, she appreciated his honesty and the vulnerability he showed in sharing his uncertainty. "Okay," she whispered, trying to be understanding. "I'm here for you if you need me. Just talk to me, Okay?". Lisa breathed out while gently placing her lips on his “Mmm”. Peter hummedEpic 5 Lisa's insistent demand for a maid continued to aggravate Peter the next morning, though he had begun to recognize his own need for one. As he awoke from a night's rest, his stomach rumbling in hunger, he was dismayed to find no food in the house. Gazing at Lisa casually crossing her fine legs in the sitting room while leisurely enjoying the cereal she had prepared for herself, Peter felt a surge of anger. "Babe!" Lisa exclaimed, rushing over to plant a few kisses on Peter's cheek. "I didn't notice you were standing there”, she said. Did you see me in your dreams, huh?”. Lisa whispered seductively as she blushed her lips against Peters. “No breakfast?”. Peter mustered in an angry low tone. Lisa was surprised while looking around the room. “Who are you talking to babe? Did you finally get us a maid”. She said a bit excited but Peters hiss left her speechless as he walked away and went back to his room. Lisa immediately rushed after him but he had already gone into the bath
Epic 6 Having yanked breathlessly, Nora immediately nodded her head “I'll accept the offer, Sir, when I'm I to start work, Sir?”. She let out a bit excited. “You can start today, you can go get your things ready, I'll have Ethan pick you up after work”. Peter whispered, excitedly Nora thanked him and left the car. He kept watching her as her flowered gown bounced at every step she took. Until she was out of sight. Immediately, Nathan ran into the car excitedly. “How did it go boss? Did she accept?”. Furiously Peter turned to face him. “The proposal”. He muttered seeming more excited. “What proposal? I can't believe you did this. I thought she framed it up, though I doubt if she can do that though”. Peter mumbled. “You mean she didn't accept? So why did she walk down to this place if she doesn't love you? She would have just walked away”. Ethan complained. Immediately Peter began reasoning his idea “That's true, if she doesn't love me, why did she come?”. He let out as Ethan b
Epic 7 Lisa's words lingered in the air as Peter took a seat on the sofa, mulling over her accusations. "Does she actually look like me?" he whispered, his mind racing. The room fell silent as Lisa stared at Peter, who seemed lost in thought. She became more confused as she realized he was no longer listening. "Aren't you going to say anything?" she asked, her voice rising in frustration. "Isn't she your daughter?" But Peter's attention remained elsewhere, his face a mask of confusion and concern. While Peter and Lisa continued to stare into the distance, deep in thought, Nora knocked and then entered the room. Her presence immediately changed the atmosphere, causing Peter to stare at her as if he had seen a ghost. Lisa noticed and disrupted the silence with her harsh tone. "Are you going to talk or not? Why are you in my room?" she demanded, her eyes blazing with anger. Nora felt uncomfortable under Lisa's intense gaze. She apologized meekly, "Sorry, ma'am." "I don't need your
Epic 8 Coming back from work, the scent of Nora's cooking tantalized Peter's senses as he stood at the door, inhaling deeply and letting the delicious aroma fill his nostrils. With his eyes closed in bliss, he suddenly felt a tiny hand grasp his leg, only to open his eyes to see Jessy smiling up at him. "Welcome, Daddy!" she exclaimed, her face beaming with joy. Peter bent down and scooped her up onto his shoulders, cuddling her close. "Hello, my princess. Did you miss Daddy?" he teased playfully, eliciting a nod from Jessy. “I miss Daddy so-so much”. She let out in her tiny voice “Where is mummy?”. Peter mumbled “In the kitchen, she is preparing dinner”. Jessy let out. “How about we go pay her a visit, promise to be quite okay?”. Peter mumbled and immediately Jessy obeyed with a gentle smile. mesmerized by the sight of Nora diligently cooking in the pristine kitchen. He took in the neat rows of utensils, the spotless countertops, and the air filled with the tantalizing arom
Epic 9 Nora immediately apologized and went ahead to clean up the floor. Peter stood speechless while trying to comprehend what had happened. “Silly, such a bunch of nuisance! Arrant nonsense”. Lisa muttered annoyed, while flapping her dress and angrily left the dining. “Sorry for that”. Peter whispered while dusting Nora's clothes. “It's fine sir, I'll manage. Besides, I'm the wrong one here”. Nora's voice was inaudible and scarcely voiced. “Are you—” “Mummy don't cry, I'm sorry”. Jessy whispered in her tiny voice, interrupting Peter, while almost crying as she tried to reach for her mother's face. “I'm not crying sweetie, mummy is fine. Just go to your room okay?”. With pretence, Nora cleaned her eyes while luring Jessy into their room. Returning to the dining, Peter was still standing there. There was a little silence as they both gazed at each other. “I'm sorry”. Peter whispered while grabbing Nora's hand. “It's fine, like I said, it's my fault as well”. Nora whispered as
Epic 10 “Daddy?”. Jessy's tiny voice echoed amid the chaos. “Well, of course. Daddy huh?!”. Lisa muttered annoyed and angrily left the room. “What is wrong with Aunty?”. Jessy innocently asked as he tapped Peter on his trousers. “Don't worry okay, Aunty is a little upset”. He let out and lifted Jessy to his shoulders. Unto the balcony, he observed as Lisa sat under the coconut tree close to their swimming pool. “I love my daddy”. Lisa interrupted with her tiny voice as Peter placed a kiss on her forehead. "Hey, Jessy. Can you tell me about your daddy?" Peter asked, seating the little girl on a nearby desk. "My mummy said I shouldn't tell anybody about my daddy," Jessy said, a look of innocence on her face. "Well, you can tell me," Peter reassured her. "I'm not just anybody, and I won't tell your mom, so it's our secret." Jessy's face brightened. "Okay, you're my daddy," she declared, her tiny fingers gripping Peter's chin. "My daddy is in heaven. Mummy said he went to get me
Epic 11 Having innocently walked back to his room, Peter kept searching for Nora with his eyes. “Haven't heard Jessy's voice”. He mumbled after a short while. “Jessy, ow Jessy”. Lisa whispered, rubbing her hands all over Peter. “Perhaps she has slept off”. She whispered while standing up from the beg. With her revealing nightie, she purposely dropped her perfume and in an attempt to pick it up, she bent towards Peter. “That's too revealing. Jessy might see you”. Peter said with annoyance as Lisa hissed and went to keep herself company in her mirror. "You're joking, right?" Lisa scoffed, giving Peter an incredulous look. "Jessy's not even here." She rolled her eyes, exasperated by his insistence. As she stood up from the bed, her revealing nightie left little to the imagination, and Peter couldn't help but feel a twinge of attraction despite his annoyance. “Babe”. Peter mumbled in a low tone as he sat up on the bed, but Lisa just rolled her eyes on him. “Any problem?”. She had
Epic 12 Getting to the subway, Peter's heart dropped with tears as he saw no signs of them. “They are not here”. He whispered bittered. “How about we check other subways?”. Lisa suggested and after glaring at her, Peter started up his car again, and that was how they ended up going to all the subways in town, yet no trace of Nora. “Gosh!”. Peter yelled pained and eventually drove back home. The few days spent with Peter were like a living hell for Lisa. It was more of “If Nora was here… If Jessy was here…”. Peter kept comparing every little thing she did with them. ******** It was already one week since the disappearance of Nora and Jessy, yet Peter couldn't get over them. “I'll be out to have a few drinks, don't wait up” he had whispered to Lisa before grabbing his car key to leave. Same place, same spot, same club, Peter sat quietly as he observed the environment. He didn't want what happened the last time to repeat, so he chose not to drink. “Here is your drink Sir”. A fami
