I need a maid

Epic 3

Peter awoke to a sense of foreboding, the weight of Lisa's demand hanging over him like a storm cloud. As he checked his phone, her message glared back at him, the word 'maid' looming like an insurmountable challenge. He knew fulfilling her request would bring complications, but he had to face it head-on. With a heavy sigh, he pushed himself out of bed, bracing for another day of Lisa's unpredictable whims.

"I need a maid. Get me one," Peter's voice echoed in the room as he ambled to the restroom after ending a call with Ethan. The taste of toothpaste filled his mouth, and as he gazed into the mirror, Lisa's reflection repeated in his mind like a broken record. His brushing became more aggressive with each stroke.

"Ouch!" Peter yelped, quickly pulling the brush from his mouth. His gums were bleeding, and he hastily rinsed the blood away. "Ouch," he exclaimed again, dabbing at the tender spot.

Peter's driver was ready to take him to the office. As he entered the car, he scanned the balcony, but his father was nowhere in sight. Upon arriving at the office, Ethan greeted him at the door.

"Sir, the agency called. There's only one maid left—no room for choices," Ethan informed him, taking Peter's briefcase as they walked to his office.

Peter sighed. "I suppose we have no choice but to accept." He placed his thumb on the door scanner, and as it opened, they stepped inside. Ethan set the briefcase behind the desk before helping Peter with his stubborn suit jacket.

"Thank you," Peter muttered, hanging the jacket on a nearby hanger. "I honestly don't know what I'm going to do with Lisa," he said, his forehead beading with sweat.

"Who's Lisa?" Ethan asked, surprised.

"Just a random girl visiting," Peter stammered. "If you've spoken with the agency, sign the contract. The maid should go to my main house—that's where her services are needed. It's urgent, and—" Peter's voice trailed off as he spotted Nora through the window.

Nora knocked and entered, her smile radiant as she greeted Peter and Ethan, placing a coffee on Peter's desk. "Good morning, sir," she said. Ethan returned the greeting, but Peter couldn't tear his gaze away until she left.

"Do you like Nora?" Ethan asked, clearing his throat and tapping Peter's shoulder.

"She's my employee," Peter insisted after a moment. "Don't think like that. Nora is just a dedicated, hardworking woman. I'm sure she has plenty of admirers." In his haste to defend his innocence, Peter accidentally spilt the coffee Nora had made.

"What's happening today?" Peter yelled in pain as a piece of the broken coffee cup cut his hand.

"I'm so sorry, Sir! We need to get you to the hospital," Ethan exclaimed, grabbing his phone to call Nora to clean up before helping Peter.

Upon seeing the shattered glass and Peter's bleeding hand, Nora quickly retrieved the office first aid kit. "We should try to stop the bleeding," she said, her voice trembling as she opened the kit hastily.

"Do you even know how to—" Ethan began.

"Help him sit up," Nora interrupted, taking out the methylated spirit and a cotton ball to clean the wound. Peter winced in pain as the spirit stung the cut. Nora carefully dressed the wound with a plaster.

"This should help until you get to the hospital. I'm really sorry for carelessly dropping the coffee," she apologized, trembling as she swept and mopped the room.

"Thank you, Nora," Peter said, appreciating her effort. Ethan then took him to the hospital.

Due to Peter's influence, he was treated immediately. The doctor praised the person who dressed the wound and prescribed pain relief. "I feel very dizzy," Peter muttered, placing his hand on his head.

His phone rang, but Peter ignored it after seeing Lisa's name on the screen. "Take me to my main house," he whispered weakly as he entered the car.

Peter struggled with his blurred vision as they drove through the rowdy streets. Noticing Peter's strange behaviour, Ethan slowed the car. Soon, Peter dozed off, only to wake when Ethan tapped him. "We're here, Sir," Ethan informed him.

Peter longed for more rest, his eyes still weak. He glanced at Ethan and then at his house. "Still the same old house," he said with effort.

"I'll call if I need anything. If my father reaches out, tell him I'll be staying here for a few weeks." Peter's voice was tired and weak.

"Okay, Boss," Ethan said, returning to the car and driving off.

Peter struggled to climb the stairs before finally reaching the master bedroom.

"Oh, my baby! I knew you'd come! I almost thought you forgot you left me all alone," Lisa exclaimed, putting on a show. Her red lipstick gleamed brightly, her face covered in heavy makeup.

"I'm sorry. I'm here now," Peter mumbled weakly, collapsing onto the king-sized bed.

"You know, I was furious today. Can you imagine the trash they sent as a maid? A low-life, a commoner. I had to fire her. Babe, she didn't even know how to make international cuisine! I almost threw up after tasting the Chinese rice I asked her to make—she's such a terrible cook! Are you even listening to me?" Lisa paused, breathless, trying to rouse Peter, who had already drifted off to sleep. "Gosh, you're so annoying," she muttered, sadness creeping into her voice as she stared at Peter. She soon got lost while staring at him. Feeding her eyes with his body she gently placed a kiss on his forehead. “Can't wait to have you all to myself”. She whispered with a smile, her red lipstick stuck to Peter's face. She smiled at how the lipstick had stuck to his face, she continued until Peter's face was covered with red lipstick.

“Mrs Lisa Celestine”. She whispered while staring at herself in the mirror. A little smile at the name caption, and then a look at Peter who lay almost lifeless.

She soon got bored staying in the room, so she decided to step out while having a retouch of her makeup.
