"And water. Lots of water," Timi chimed in, making a mental note. "You can never have too much water when you're hiking, especially in summer."

Jasmine nodded, tossing a couple of water bottles into her backpack. "And don't forget insect repellent. Mosquitoes and ticks can be a real pain out there."

Kyrian remembered something else. "And maybe a whistle. You know, just in case we need to signal for help."

Timi chuckled. "We're packing like survivalists." Kyrian cracked a smile, the tension in his shoulders loosening slightly. "Hey, it's better to be overprepared than underprepared, right? And if we're going to find my dad, we can't risk getting stuck out there with no supplies."

Timi clapped Kyrian on the back. "You're right. Better safe than sorry."

Jasmine zipped up her backpack, a sense of purpose in her movements. "Everything's packed. Now all we need is a good night's sleep." The trio settled down for the night, trying to get some rest before their early departure. But s
