Chapter twenty five

Mrs Charles was surprised at her daughter's response but didn't say a word more.

I walked in and placed the final plate of food on the table for the Charles family. I was about to leave when I suddenly heard Mr Charles' voice, "hey." Mr Charles said.

I figured he would be referring to me and I turned around. "Sir?" I said.

"Yes. That's not where to place the tray. Who do you expect to reach there?" Mr Charles questioned me.

I looked at the tray I had just placed on the table. If he need it then he could have just asked his wife or Clarissa to pass it to him but I guess this is either laziness or it's a case of 'like father like daughter'.

"My apologies sir," I replied Mr Charles.

I picked up the tray from the table, "Where should I place it?" I asked Mr Charles, the tray still in my hands.

"A space on the table where I can reach. Where else?" Mr Charles replied. Mr Charles stared at me as if I was an idiot who just didn't understand the right thing to do.
