Chapter twenty four

"Thank you," Clarissa said to her father and then turned to her mom. Mrs Charles looked to the far corner of the room. "You have my permission." Mrs Charles said.

"Thank you," Clarissa said.

"What I don't understand is why that young man didn't say he was your husband. The butler only told us he was the houseboy." Mrs Charles said.

"He is indeed the houseboy. After all, I couldn't just kick him out after marrying him. Bad things would be said about me. I have to keep him here just for a while till everything about my marriage dies down among the public. While he is here he still has to make himself useful right?" Clarissa explained.

"I suppose so." Mr Charles said.

"So what is your plan?" Mr Charles asked Clarissa.

"I mean, how do you plan on retrieving the stolen documents and bringing the Vandelsons down?" Mr Charles said to Clarissa.
