chapter fifty three

With me leading the way, we soon found a clear place to sleep. Clarissa Sat down and I gathered thick and wide leaves to spread on the floor separately for the both of us to sleep on.

Without a word to me, Clarissa lay down and I too didn't speak but then straight to sleep.

[The next day]

I woke up to see that Clarissa was gone and I jumped to my feet. Where the hell did she go to while I was asleep?!

"Clarissa!" I called out her name but no answer came even after I kept shouting.

I searched everywhere and only found her when I returned to the same spot we were sleeping at. "Where did you go? I've been looking for you." I asked Clarissa but she didn't answer me.

"Ugh!" I face-palmed myself and felt my stomach growl. "At least now I know I'm not the only one hungry. So, what's your idea to save us from this situation? A bigger forest?" Clarissa retorted.

"So you went in search of food and failed," I replied to Clarissa and she scoffed.
