Chapter 52

"And I…am not mincing words."

"I'll love to see you try Fred."

"Oh, you asked for it, Elijah. What ye seek, ye shall find."

Elijah watched Fred laugh as he walked backward, away from him. His eyes remained trained on him until Fred and his men cleared out of his sight. Elijah's teeth clenched together and his nose flared as he took in the situation of the site and his workers.

"I'm very sorry everyone. I deeply apologize for all that has happened today. Please let us all go home and I promise that Vicky will settle you for all your troubles. Thank you very much." Elijah shouted, so that everyone could hear him loud and clear, and a couple of people echoed "Thank you, sir."

Then he turned to Vicky, who wore an angry expression.

"This is the second time you have been caught in a crossfire Vicky, and I'm sincerely sorry. I have put you in harm's way twice, and I will understand if you want to walk away from all of this."
