Chapter 53

Within a few minutes, Elijah was banging on Kira's door, demanding that she open up and let him in. The minutes counted and it appeared like it was taking forever, so he banged on the door a few more times, and shouted, "Kira, open up."

"For Christ's sake, will you calm down, I said I was coming." She shouted back as she opened the door for him to enter.

"What's going on?" Elijah asked.

"I should be the one asking you that. You demanded that I send my address and then you came over here trying to wake the entire neighborhood up. Did you change your drug supplier?"

"I don't do drugs, and I don't understand. I heard you sniffing on the phone."

"And so you hurried here because you thought I was crying?" Kira looked confused.

"Were you not?"

"I was. But that's not the point right now. I'm saying that you hurried down here because you thought I was crying?"
