Chapter Two

Bianca's naked body was among the many others gathered there. She couldn't even see him because she was on her knees in front of another man, her eyes closed, as she pleased him with her mouth and her hands while moaning loudly.

'What the fuck?' Elijah thought.

He ran his hands over his face twice then blinked a couple of times at the image before him. He tried to open his mouth to speak, but no sound came out. He was tongue-tied. This was the very woman he had assumed was pure, innocent, and good. This was the woman behind his sleepless nights while devising procedures and systems to help her family business expand. But here she was, with no care in the world, basically offering her body and mouth, quite literally, to another man in order to get a business collaboration.

Elijah's breath began to come in short, fast pants, and his hands still gripping the handle of the service cart tightly turned white. He did not wish to cause a scene, not with all the nakedness surrounding him. He persuaded himself that he would simply walk away, walk out of the building without uttering a word to a single soul, and then when he got home, he would call his lawyer to prepare a divorce letter. "There's no need for any drama," Elijah told himself.

He removed his hands from the service cart handle and took a step back, his gaze still trained on Bianca and the man seriously going at it. He continued to walk backward until he was almost at the meeting room entrance, at which point he shifted his gaze away and saw another familiar face staring back at him. This one was riding one of the business tycoons on one of the sofas in the room. Her back was to the man, but her face was towards him, with a smirk fully directed at him.

Then everything clicked. " This Bitch" Elijah said. He had not meant to say it out, but he did, gaining the attention of the men and women near him. They turned to look at him, taken aback by the interference. He stared back at the face that he was certain was the brains behind everything he was seeing. It was Bianca's best friend, Avery. He was sure that she had set everything up. Catching Bianca this way had to be premeditated by her.

Avery despised him, and she never concealed it. Not in her words or actions. Elijah could not wrap his head around their bond because he had always believed Bianca had a pure soul, and Avery was a dark soul-less witch. And now it was clear to him why they were always joined at the hip.

Elijah turned back to Bianca who had not even noticed the interruption and his vision blurred with rage. His legs moved on their own accord, as he dashed towards Bianca and her partner. He jerked an unsuspecting Bianca away from the man in one full motion, forcing the man to stumble backward and Bianca to fall. Elijah paid no attention to her fallen state, his gaze was fixed on the man. The man looked shocked by this new drama unfolding in front of him. He opened his mouth to challenge Elijah asking, "Who the hell…," but before he could complete his question, Elijah punched him in the face, causing him to stagger back.

The man raised his fingers to touch his nose, and he looked at it. There was blood on his fingers. The sight of blood from the man's nose and his fingers did not deter Elijah, his fury was blazing hot inside of him, and he wanted the man to feel his wrath.

In seconds, he pounced on the man. In a fit of rage, he delivered three more punches to his face before feeling the hands of others trying to pry him from the man's body. They successfully pulled him away from the man's body, and Elijah looked to see who had stopped him from finishing his assault on the man's bloody face. It was the security guards who worked at the bar. Elijah was trying to break away from their deathly hold when he felt a reverberating slap on his face.

"Do you have any idea who you just beat up? Who gave a low-life like you the balls to lay a finger on him?" Bianca shouted.

Elijah's eyes widened at the version of Bianca that was in front of him. He had never heard her say more than one phrase at a go whenever he was present. Her voice and words were always clipped towards him. But here she was, standing in the full glory of her nakedness, which he had never seen in their three-year marriage challenging him, after slapping him. Elijah's eyes flickered through hers, there was no remorse in her eyes for what she had been caught doing.

He spat on the ground. The slap had hurt him. The woman had not used any exceptional force to hit him, it was the person whose hands had delivered them that caused him pain. He attempted to break free again, but he couldn't, their hold on him made it hard for him to move an inch. He slowly raised his head to look Bianca in the eyes, a wrinkle appeared on his forehead, "For a woman who was just caught cheating a few minutes ago, you have some nerves."

Before anyone could say Jack Robinson, another slap landed on his opposite cheek. This time, it came from Avery. "How dare you speak to Bianca like that? I never knew what she saw in a riff-raff like you. You who can never amount to anything good."

"You are lucky these men are holding on to me Avery."

"Or what? So your miserable good-for-nothing self is also a woman beater. How pathetic."

Elijah was about to respond when a movement caught his eye. The man he had pounced on walked forward, stopping beside Bianca, his face was cleaned of blood. He slipped his hand around her waist. His lower body was wrapped in a towel. His body looked young and athletic, but his face gave it away that he was much older.

The man looked at him and asked, "Bianca, who the hell is this?"

Bianca's body appeared to relax as he put his hands around her. She looked Elijah in the eyes and slowly answered, "He is my ex-husband."

Elijah stood still, his eyes fixed on Bianca's. From the corner of his eye, he could see Avery smiling. Elijah clenched his teeth, and his nose flared as he remembered how he had previously planned to change Bianca's life before this.

The man raised his hand, and before Elijah could say a word, he was carried out of the room and thrown into the back of a truck. Then one of the men hit him with something hard at the back of the head and his vision went pitch black.
