Free woman

Simon looked at the shattered bottle in a pool of its own wine at his feet. Some sheds of it had was scattered all over the top of his shoe.

Simon tossed his eyes to look at Selena. “Did you just…” he looked down at the broken pieces and laughed disbelievingly. “Did just throw a bottle at me?” He stared at his wife and saw none of the meek woman he had left this morning. The eyes staring back at him were vicious and vibrantly furious.

He bent to pick up one of the pieces that still had the label intact on it. “Passion Noir. Do you know how much this cost?”

Selena threw her head back and laughed. “I can't believe you're focused more about the cost than the actual problem.”

“I didn't realize my wife kept a special stash of cash somewhere.”

“It's our freaking wedding anniversary Soon and I went out of my way to make it special!”

Simon lowered his hands and ripped the piece of glass. For a moment he looked remorseful, then he spoke. “Oh. Is that what this fuss is all about.”
