Chapter 72

“Wait what?” I ask. “You kept tabs on me?”

“Don’t be mad at us,” she says, leading me into a glistening room with water reflecting onto the white ceiling. A round bed is next to a pool of flowing water that leads out into the ocean; the flowing water circling a coral tree with plush cushions on top of each branch before exiting. I have a walled closet filled with clothes that are updated. A shell shaped vanity holds pearled brushes and pins. A massive black bed is in the corner for an already snoring Wilson. I forgot how much I missed my room.

She takes my hand and smiles at me. “We wanted to make sure you were safe. We were wrong to assume you’d fail, and it was a privilege watching you thrive in your dream. I know it has to hurt you to give it up, and we should have let you pursue it sooner.”

I give her a confused look. “Give it up?”

“You are taking the throne Isaac , aren’t you?” She asks wearily.
