The doctors did not look desperate, they all seemed relieved that Leon was fine. "We have checked him, he is fine, his injuries are quite minor," the doctor said.
"Is he awake? Will he be fine?" Sylvia asked the doctors. Both of them nodded, "Yes, he's awake now, we've been able to stabilize him." One of them said,
Sylvia nodded, she was very relieved and grateful that nothing terrible had happened to him, "I'll go and get him some food, I'm sure he must be hungry." She said and immediately left the room. Uncle Smith frowned, he was curious, he had thought that Leon's state of health was much worse when he rushed him to the hospital, he had looked like he was dying but the doctor just announced his injuries as being slight. He had a feeling that he had lied about the severity of his condition just to elicit pity.
"You mean his condition isn't that bad? I thought he was dying." Uncle Smith said and the doctor shook his head, "His injuries are minimal, from the check, he'll be fine soon."
Uncle Smith went into the emergency room where Leon was still on the bed but now fully conscious. "Why did you pretend like you were dying, you made my niece worry." He spat, his tone unfriendly.
Leon frowned, he had just woken from the mirage about the ring, still trying to determine if it was real or indeed he was just hallucinating because of the blood he'd lost. But he was truly healed after activating the ring so he didn't quite know what to believe.
"You must know that Sylvia is a decent girl from the Caden family, don't try to get her close to you by begging for pity!" The man snapped angrily.
Leon was first surprised at his tone, he knew he wasn't pretending about his injuries, he'd been badly hurt but was just recovering. "Why would you think I am pretending? Didn't you see what the gangsters did to me? They outnumbered me and__" Uncle Smith cut him in before he could say anything else, he had a nasty scowl on his face.
"The doctors just told us that your injuries aren't that severe," he said with a cold tone, "Why were you trying to make her panic for nothing?" He asked coldly, and then looked down on Leon.
"Sylvia isn't the kind of girl that would ever have anything to do with you, you're a nobody, so dont bother trying your pity tricks on her," he snapped arrogantly.
Leon was shocked at his taunts, he was mad, he could not believe that he'd just risked his life to save his niece only for him to come bearing insults.
"I just saved her life and all you can do is call me a liar and a pretender?" Leon asked, he was shocked at his attitude.
"It's obvious that you did it just to get her sympathy and attention, that's an old trick." The man replied aggressively.
"Is that how low you think of me? You don't even know me." Leon said, surprised at his hasty assumptions.
"I don't have to know you, I can see that you're a nobody," Smith's response was plain, his arrogant response made Leon shocked.
"I didn't expect you to say this, Sir, I was only helping your niece," Leon retorted, absolutely surprised by the man's approach.
Suddenly, his phone vibrated from the bedside and he picked it up, it was a call from his wife.
"Hello, honey." She said and he replied plainly, "Hello,"
"I have just seen the medical result on the table," she said and Leon cursed. He had not expected her to see that, he'd been so overwhelmed by her nagging behavior that he'd left the house in such a hurry that he forgot to keep it away.
"I didn't want you to__" he began but she cut him in slowly, saying he should come home.
"There's something very important I want to talk to you about." She said,
Leon was curious, he wondered what his wife wanted to discuss with him. He had barely just recovered from the beating of his life, but he also wanted to talk things out with her. He'd left in such a rush and they'd just had a fight. He wanted to go back home and hear her out. Maybe, he was even hopeful that she would realize her mistakes and apologize. "I'll be coming home soon." He replied and hung up. Uncle Smith, who had been listening in on the phone conversation was very displeased, "Is that not your wife? I heard her ask you to come home." He said, sneering at him.
Leon looked at the man and wondered what he was getting at, all he did was save the young girl's life. Why was he being unnecessarily mean instead of being grateful?
"What does it matter if I'm married?" He asked, Uncle Smith scoffed and asked him why he was trying to be smart.
"You knew you were married and you were still trying to get close to my niece?" He asked, almost like it was a sin to even conceive such a plan. "How dare you try to toy with my niece's emotions that way?" He asked, his eyes narrowed.
Leon was upset, he swung his legs off the bed and said to him, "Why do you feel so entitled? First I saved her life and you think I was only pretending to be injured and now you're concerned about who I'm ok with the phone with?" He asked, mad at his oppressive behavior.
"I am only trying to look out for my little niece, I can't let her associate with the likes of you, stay off of her since you're married." Uncle Smith warned him sternly.
Leon picked up his phone, he was feeling much stronger and he knew that he could leave on his own, "You can't treat everyone around you as if they are evil, I meant your niece no harm by helping her," he said as he left the hospital.
Leon left the hospital in a hurry, he could not wait to get home and tell his wife about the good news of his miraculous healing. He never wanted to tell her about the tumor because he didn't want her to be worried about him, already she seemed to be displeased by everything he did, he didn't want to add his medical condition to the list. But as Leon headed home, he figured that maybe it wasn't such a bad thing that she knew about his tumor, maybe it would make her treat him a little better. Thinking of this brought a smile to his face and he could imagine how happy she could be when he finally told her I'd the goodness of his healing. Although he could not clearly explain what had happened, he believed in the power of the ring, he believed that since he had been healed of all the injuries from the attack and he was recovering so quickly then the brain tumor was gone too, he was happy and wanted to share the news with his wife. As he got home, he pushed open the door in that excitem
Sylvia returned to the hospital room a few minutes after Leon had left, she met her uncle and asked him where he was. "The young man had left, he..." But before her uncle could finish the statement, she frowned, her beautiful face crumpled into an ugly expression. "What do you mean left? He was right here, I just went to grab him something to eat," She said, her tone high. "I thought you said that you've just met him a few hours ago, why are you so concerned about his whereabouts?" Smith asked, his time casual and this only made Sylvia even more annoyed. "It doesn't matter! He saved my life and I want to personally thank him," she replied."Listen, I've thanked him enough, if you want us to offer him some money then that can be arranged, you don't have to bother about meeting with him again," he said to her, hoping that she'd forget about it. Sylvia frowned, "This isn't about the money, uncle, I have to see him, he was hurt all because of me, the least I can do is tell him how gra
As Leon tossed the car door far away, the woman hurriedly went to her child in the back seat, she pulled her out and cradled her in her arms. The car was going up in smoke, and Leon could tell that it would be firing up soon, "It's dangerous to be this close to the car, I think it's going to explode," he warned the woman and then led both mother and daughter away from the car which was slowly going up in flames. A good distance away from the car and the crowd that began to gather at the scene, Leon could see the mother shaking the girl, trying to resuscitate her. "She's not responding, she isn't waking up!" The woman cried helplessly as she tried everything but the girl remained limp in her arms. The woman was helpless, she could not bear to lose her daughter, she shook her and cried out, tears pouring down her face helplessly. Leon moved to her, he felt pity for her, and her hopeless weeping tore at his heart. "She isn't waking?" He asked, it was a pointless question but he didn't
Shortly after the girl woke up and Leon's powers were fully restored, the ambulance that one of the onlookers had called arrived, it was time for her to take the girl to the hospital. The woman got up from the floor and hurried to the ambulance to hand her daughter over to the paramedics, then she returned to thank Leon again, this time, she held his hands firmly. "My name is Louisa, I want to thank you for saving my daughter's life, I'm in your debt," she said, holding onto his hands. Through her touch, Leon's deity power came alive and he began to see what was wrong with her, the healing gift was able to sense that there was an abnormality in her blood, there was an alien substance that was messing with her system, the power of the Apollo ring showed him that she was under the influence of drugs. Leon was confused at first, he wondered why she had the strange substance in her bloodstream, but then it all made sense, she had been drugged but someone and that was why she had the acc
On arriving at the hospital, Louisa was panicked, she looked at her daughter as she was being rushed in the stretcher into the emergency room, her condition even more critical. She was pacing frantically when a doctor came out from the emergency room and she hurried to him, "Please, save my daughter's life, I am willing to give anything to make sure that she's better," she pleaded desperately. The doctor looked at her and said, "Her condition is very bad, her heart is barely powerful enough to keep all her organs intact, she will need a transplant immediately if she is to pull through," he warned. Louisa nodded eagerly, "I am willing to give anything, I was even heading to the hospital for her heart surgery before the accident happened and worsened her condition, is there anything that can be done? I don't want to lose my daughter," The doctor nodded and said that there was an available donor and that the heart transplant could be undergone quickly. "Yes, let's get it done, I am w
Leon watched as the woman's face fell in fright. What would happen to her daughter now that she had no money to offset the hospital bills?"But...you have to help my daughter, she doesn't have much time, she needs the surgery, I beg of you, doctor," she pleaded. The doctor sneered at her and warned her to not make a scene or he'd have the security men throw her out. "We will need money for the surgery, ma'am, if you can't give it then you'll have to take your daughter elsewhere," the doctor said rudely. Fiona turned to look at her cousin who still stood by the door, his hands crossed over his chest and a smirk on his face. "Please, you can have whatever you want, but please just give me some money to save my daughter's life," Fiona begged but he didn't budge, instead of the pity she expected, he simply laughed at her. "She was never yours, she's not part of the family and she doesn't deserve anything from me," he spat. The doctor was about to walk away and order that the little
Leon left the hospital that day, promising to contact Fiona again and make sure the little girl was okay. Fiona feels heavily indebted to him and tells him that he can back out so he doesn't go to prison but Leon is insistent, he wants to help her and her daughter. Although Leon is worried about the hospital loan, his most pressing need is how to get accommodation for the night since he can't return home to his wife after the divorce. He arrived at a little bed and breakfast in the town but he has no money to pay for the night. Leon tries to strike a deal with them that he'll pay the next day when he's made some money but the receptionist isn't so kind. "We don't need poor folks like you here, pay up or get the hell out before I let the security do it!" The man snapped at him, his bulging eyes opened even wider.Leon hissed at him, but he knew he couldn't refuse, after all, the bed and breakfast wasn't a charity organization, and he had to pay. "Okay, I guess I'll come back when I
The next day, Leon woke to the smell of fresh coffee and some muffins as he opened his eyes. There was a knock on the door and he asked the person to come on. One of the chefs asked him if he was ready to come down from breakfast or if he'd rather have it in his room. Leon was famished and asked that the breakfast be brought into his room. He could see the espresso and fresh muffins and his mouth watered. "Is there anything else you need, sir?" The man asked and Leon shook his head. He hurried over his breakfast and quickly put on the fresh t-shirt and jeans that he'd been provided with. He had to leave soon, he had to make $600,000 by some miracle before two weeks and a day was already wasted. Outside the B&B, he saw the receptionist talking with a fat man at the entrance. Immediately the receptionist saw him, he smiled widely and asked him to come. "Let me introduce you to the owner of this place, I spoke to him about you last night and he'd be thrilled to have you work for us a
