Xavier looked down from the top floor and noticed that the guard that Gideon had dragged out with him landed on the pavement in an awkward position while Gideon himself was nowhere to be found. Gideon had been planning his own escape from the very first day that he got into the master's room three years ago. He wasn't daft to believe that he would never be caught. It was a convoy that dropped Leon off as he left the Xavier estate. All the men at the gate bowed to him respectfully as the car drove past. Leon was driven to his neighborhood, he couldn't wait to have a good rest after staying up all night just to keep watch over the professor. "You can go back now, I'm good here," he said. The driver frowned at him through the rearview mirror, he wanted to argue that the master said they should take him home directly since he'd insisted on not staying at the estate anymore. Leon felt the girl grip onto his shirt tighter, her frame shaking as she tried to move back. The sight of the monstrous man was slightly frightening even for him but he could tell that strength wasn't really by size but by might and endurance. "Are you ready to run now?" They all laughed because they mistook his calmness for cowardice and they thought he was going mute because he was terrified. Skillfully, Leon was nle to avoid the big man like he was just a chunk of clay. He put him to his left and ducked to the right, making him fall to the ground in the most indecent manner. The gangsters winced as they heard their master fall to the ground with a thud. They hadn't ever seen him in such a position. No one ever withstood him long enough or even had a fight with him. Leon was stunned to find Gideon in his living room. He held the bat a little tighter as he saw the murderous intent in the man's eyes. "Master Xavier's decision had nothing to do with me," he said. Gideon sneered at him, "You're a pathetic liar, you are the one who made him well, that means you foiled my plans and you will have to pay for it." Leon looked outside, it was still dark and he had a sense of deja vu. The day Billy had broken into his house and tried to convince him to work for some man. The day was brighter than Leon had imagined, somehow the incident of the previous night with Gideon might have given him the impression that the day would be gloomy and a mess too. But he was very wrong. The sun was up in the sky before it was even mid-morning and some of his neighbors - the girl whose cousin he saved from gangsters the previous day - came with a basket of muffins to appreciate him again. Leon smiled and stored the muffins on the kitchen counter before he left for the banquet. It was almost 9:30 a.m. when he arrived at the Xavier estate. The security guards all showed to him respectfully and led him inside the place. The cab which he'd taken there was paid off and he didn't have to spend a dime. Leon looked about the crowd and slowly made his way to the stage where Master Xavier stood. He looked at him with open admiration and people began to clap. He wasn't sure why Xavier had to introduce him to the crowd but he quietly indulged him. Xavier held his hands and raised them before the entire room, "This man is my savior, never have I seen a man so strong or powerful as he is," he said and the entire crowd clapped. Although Leon could see that not everyone clapped at that, some people merely stared at him skeptically, their eyes speaking evil. It wasn't going to be an easy task fitting into the elite society. "Do you have anything to say to the crowd?" Xavier asked but Leon shook his head. He wasn't ready for the show that Xavier was trying to put up. As much as he understood that the master was no doubt glad to be back in the social sphere and wanted to catch up on what he'd missed for the few years he was hospitalized. Hands a little shaky, Leon took the paper from Xavier and stared at it like it was his little ticket to paradise. His eyes were wide and his lips parted in astonishment. He didn't expect it. Not only had the master thanked him enough, but he'd also made him known to a rook full of people who had no regard for him, now they all wanted to be on his side or fight against him. Either way, this only proves to Leon that he has suddenly gained prominence in the room. But being given half of anything he had? That was just beyond imagination, he wasn't sure how to react to such a grand gesture. "Are you sure? You don't have to do this," he said.
