Leon left the hospital that day, promising to contact Fiona again and make sure the little girl was okay. Fiona feels heavily indebted to him and tells him that he can back out so he doesn't go to prison but Leon is insistent, he wants to help her and her daughter.

Although Leon is worried about the hospital loan, his most pressing need is how to get accommodation for the night since he can't return home to his wife after the divorce.

He arrived at a little bed and breakfast in the town but he has no money to pay for the night. Leon tries to strike a deal with them that he'll pay the next day when he's made some money but the receptionist isn't so kind.

"We don't need poor folks like you here, pay up or get the hell out before I let the security do it!" The man snapped at him, his bulging eyes opened even wider.

Leon hissed at him, but he knew he couldn't refuse, after all, the bed and breakfast wasn't a charity organization, and he had to pay.

"Okay, I guess I'll come back when I

The next day, Leon woke to the smell of fresh coffee and some muffins as he opened his eyes. There was a knock on the door and he asked the person to come on. One of the chefs asked him if he was ready to come down from breakfast or if he'd rather have it in his room. Leon was famished and asked that the breakfast be brought into his room. He could see the espresso and fresh muffins and his mouth watered. "Is there anything else you need, sir?" The man asked and Leon shook his head. He hurried over his breakfast and quickly put on the fresh t-shirt and jeans that he'd been provided with. He had to leave soon, he had to make $600,000 by some miracle before two weeks and a day was already wasted. Outside the B&B, he saw the receptionist talking with a fat man at the entrance. Immediately the receptionist saw him, he smiled widely and asked him to come. "Let me introduce you to the owner of this place, I spoke to him about you last night and he'd be thrilled to have you work for us a

The next day arrived fast. Leon arrived at the clinic rather early, he'd wasted a little time on the train ride because he had to heal a woman with acute arthritis and then another boy who had flu. The power of the ring was seemingly leading him to where people needed help. He looked at his pocket and realized that he'd spent all the money given to him by the doctor the previous day on accommodation for the night and then bought some food for himself and a certain homeless man. But he was hopeful, now that he was in the clinic, he was sure they'd make a lot of money and if he did well then he could ask his boss for a loan to settle the hospital and then work the loan off. It was as if his life was quickly making sense. He was using his newfound powers to make a change and he was going to make some money to have a better life too. Happy and expectant of a better life, he walked into the small clinic that morning and noticed that the nurse seemed a little cold. "You'll have

Leon did not have a car which he could follow Clinton with, so he opted for a taxi to trail him. Clinton drove down to the suburbs before he parked just beside a modest duplex. He didn't get out of the car for another few minutes. "This is going to cost you more, you know that, amigo?" The driver told Leon impatiently. Leon looked at his wallet and discovered he barely had enough change to cover the ride as it was, he decided to pay the cab driver off. As the car drove off, he got down and quickly hid behind a sycamore tree just outside the house. Shortly after, a thin and tall man came to the car and got inside. From where he hid, Leon could not hear anything that both men were saying. He could only hear the rumble of the car engine as it sat by the sidewalk. It wasn't long before the tall man left the vehicle, a small smile on his face, and walked into the duplex with a small brown envelope, then Clinton sped off. Leon knew he had to follow the man if he wanted clues, he di

Daniel looked at his son who was still at the doorway, looking interested in the conversation. "This is adults talk, get in the house," he told the boy and he reluctantly walked inside with the grandmother. Now, Leon was all alone with Daniel and he could talk. "How do you know about Clinton and the George company?" Daniel asked hastily. He looked at the house and told them to walk away from the earshot of his family whom he was sure was listening up from the window. "Why are you here?" Daniel asked him, his voice very low. He didn't want to agitate his family, especially after the argument he'd just had with his wife. "I saw you and Clinton together and I saw the manilla envelope in your hand," Daniel said, nodding at the house, "And your wife is right, you are putting your family in danger." "That's none of your business and neither is my relationship with Clinton," he said, baring his teeth. "Do you know that Clinton is not only trying to ruin Fiona but he might mak

The sun hung low in the sky, and the weather was a lot chill than expected, especially after the blistering heat of the previous day. Leon was already at the Pinch Cafe a full hour before Daniel was to arrive. He was still there when the clock struck noon and he heard the doorbell chime at the entrance of the cafe. Leon looked up and saw Daniel, but he wasn't alone, he was with his wife and the teen from the other day. Leon got up from his chair, frowning at him as he got to the table. "I didn't ask you to bring anyone along," he whispered just so Daniel could hear him. But even Elsa did because she shoved Daniel aside and looked at Leon in the eye. "I'm not going to sit back and let you pull a fast one on my husband, if you are what he says, then we have to be sure," she said. Daniel shrugged, he'd tried to dissuade his wife but Elsa wasn't a woman that bent easily. She'd made up her mind from the moment he'd mentioned that Leon was a healer, she'd decided she would be there to

The ring almost glowed on his fingers as the family all knelt down to thank him, praising him and offering him to stay with them for as long as he wanted. Leon rose from the sofa and shook his head, "No, I have a friend I need to help," he replied. As much as the offer of a place to sleep sounded inviting, he didn't want to become anyone's servant, he wanted to be a master and he could only do that on his own, with his own wealth. "What can we do, great one?" Elsa asked and Leon sighed at the title. Clearly he would have to get used to people calling him such names. "Just keep to our deal, that's all," Leon said, looking at Daniel. Daniel gasped, "Of course, of course, great one, I'll do that right away," he said and hurried out of the room. Shortly after, he returned with a small book and a folder. He laid it out on the desk and flipped through it gingerly. Elsa who didn't even know what he was looking for was right beside him, helping to flip too. The old woman came t

The rays of the sun woke Leon up and as he got out of the car, he was aching all over from sleeping wrong all through the night. Looking at his wristwatch, he saw that it was still early in the morning. The security guard was patrolling the parking lot and thankfully didn't see him coming out of the car. He stretched and quickly went into the hospital, he had to make sure everything was settled. In the lobby, he could already see the doctor and Clinton right beside him. "I heard you came looking for me last night, kept wondering what fancy excuse you've come up with," the doctor said and Clinton smiled. Clinton was very sure that Leon was there to beg for more time or even worse, revoke the vow he made to pay the loan. "It seems you haven't been able to get a job, huh? I don't think you should keep looking," Clinton said with a wicked smile. "I know you told the clinic to not hire me," he said and Clinton laughed at him heartily, "You don't have any evidence to back that s

Leon was the first to hurry to her. The little girl lay on the floor helplessly, her eyes rolling into the back of her head. "What's wrong with her?" He asked and Fiona shook her head. "Call the doctor, immediately," he instructed the nurse to rush off. Leon laid his hands on Mia, summoning the power of the ring to assess her body. He could see that she needed a blood transfusion because there was an antibody in her bloodstream. The doctor rushed out and when he saw Mia on the floor, unconscious, he was shocked and afraid. "I just performed the surgery and it was successful," he said, wondering what was wrong with the little girl. Leon could sense the urgency of the situation and he could see she might not be able to withstand the power of the ring if she didn't get a blood transfusion first. "She needs a blood transfusion," Leon said but the doctor had already instructed the nurses to take Mia to the operation room for another operation. "The operation was successful, tha

Leon stepped out of the party with Tracy right behind him. He hadn't been in the same place with such elite people in such a long time and he had mixed feelings. Tracy was so proud of what she had done. She wanted to create a new name for herself. No more was she willing to be the daddy's girl that did everything that her parents wanted even when it had nothing to do with her own career goals and aspirations. "Tracy!" A voice called to her from behind and she turned to look at her mother who was really dressed and coming to her with a fierce frown. "How could you do this!" She snapped. Tracy looked at her sternly, she didn't look remorseful at all. "What did you expect mum? If you really think that I would go ahead and marry that man that had nothing to do with my destiny?" She asked with a scowl on her pretty face. "Even if you're disrespecting your father, do you have to do it in such a crass manner? I know that I raised you better than this. I raised you to be more

Leon and Tracy arrived at the party in a short while. They both stepped out of the Maserati and heads turned in their direction. Tracy's dress turned out to be the most lovely and unique in the entire place and this made the ladies stare in envy and the men in lust. "I'm glad that you came with me tonight, I would not have been able to fend off all these men on my own," she said and shook her head. At the door of the party, the bouncer did not even have to ask who Tracy you was because she was the only daughter of Sylvester Caden. But apart from coming as her date, most people in the club already knew Leon and he would not have had a hard time gaining access anyways. "Welcome Miss Tracy. Your mother has been looking for you all evening, kindly take the front seat please," one of the many ushers at the event said and let Tracy to her seat very close to the podium. Settled down and with a table and several bottles of expensive wine before them, Tracy and Leon could not help

Stepping out of the car, Leon came face-to-face with a very nicely dressed Tracy. She looked magnificent in her black dress and curled hair. The bags framed her face beautifully and he had to admit that she was really pretty. "Hello, Leon, it's been forever since I last saw you," she said and walked up to him to give him a hug. Leon bit her and then pulled away just as she looked like she was melting right in his arms. "It's just been a few days, Tracy, I'm sorry I haven't called, I've been busy," he said. Tracy looked at him and chuckled. "I should be the one apologizing for not being able to meet you or even give a call. I apologize but I've been very busy and I have good news," she said all in one breath. Leon was glad to hear that she had good news. So far all he seemed to be hearing in his life was one bleak story or the other. It felt great to await something good for a change. "I'm all ears, what news do you bring?" He asked. Tracy smirked proudly and walked back

Leaving the premises, Leon couldn't help but feel like a huge burden had been lifted off his shoulders. He no longer had to worry about XLT and the mess that Hopkins and his cohort had made of it. "Fucking corrupt bastards!" Leon sneered from the backseat of the car as it rolled down the street. He didn't think it could be so easy to actually steal from the company, but clearly he'd been very wrong. Both the accountant, the clerical officer and Lily, his secretary had a lot to answer to. "Sir, where to?" Hector asked as they moved out of the place. He was glancing at him through the rearview mirror. "I don't know, Hector, just drive away from here," he urged with a glare. The driver nodded and sped off, out of the neighborhood completely. It was going to be a very long and tiring procedure to fish out everyone that was involved in the embezzlement but Leon was ready for it. There was no way he was going to allow them to take what belonged to the company and go scot free.

Walking out of XlT with his head held high, he couldn't help but notice all the stares that different members of staff were giving him. He was done trying to please everyone, he was done trying to make them all agree with him being the boss. Power had to be taken and Leon was damn rich to grab it with both hands. Leon was outside the premises, all the other staff were still lurking in the lobby, trying to get a better view of what was going to happen outside without being outrightly lookers. "Sir, you have to reconsider, we can't let all the members of the board go," Lily said, running after him, her high heels clicking on the tiled floor.Turning to her with a sharp gaze, he asked, "Which would you rather prefer, a team of old men who will revolt at the slightest chance or no one at all on the board?" He asked. Lily knew that was a tricky question to answer. For as long as she had been working for XLT, there was always a board of directors, Leon dissolving it all in one day as well

Hector sat in the car, glancing at Leon through the rearview mirror. He has doubts about his master's readiness to face the big sharks at XLT again - especially so soon after all that he'd faced. But Leon wasn't acting like he wasn't ready for them, he seemed to be ready for anything at all. Right from when he woke up from the hospital bed, he'd gone straight down to help Fiona and it seemed he wasn't getting any good sleep in-between. "Master, are you ready to go in?" Hector asked and he didn't even miss a breath when he added. "I could call the secretary immediately to have the entire meeting rescheduled, if you're not up for it," he said. Leon chuckled at the speed with which he quickly said he wouldn't mind rescheduling. "It seems you're hoping that I'm not ready for the meeting so that you could quickly reschedule," he stated. Hector sighed, "If I may speak freely, sir, this has been one of the hardest weeks for you. I don't know how you've been able to fire through the

    CHAPTER HUNDRED TWENTY FIVE

Fiona stared in awe as she recalled that Leon had insisted on coming to the party even after turning her down the first time. It was quite unlike him to come to any party, especially one that he was sure would be filled up with ladies and music and as it actually turned out - strippers. She didn't understand why he had suddenly changed his mind. "Leon, it's true that you didn't want to come to the party in the first place, you're right," Fiona said and looked at him worriedly. Elsa was still defensive and tried to convince her friend that the man was lying and she would never want to hurt her for any reason. "Fiona, how could you believe this man over me? You left you at the party and went elsewhere, isn't it clear that he's trying to ruin your good time?" She asked, trying to play the emotional trick on her. "Leon, talk to me, why did you show up at that party? Why did you change your mind?" Fiona asked him, this time her eyes were fiercely on him, she believed that there was
