Trigger Warning: This chapter contains explicit violence. Read it with caution.………Right before the fight could end, Gerald and his scheming allies began to plan what they will be doing next. All of them has the singular thought of gaining all of the experience points for themselves. There is no thought of leaving Merlin alive at all. They need him dead.“We’ll wait for the moment before he delivers the finishing strike.” Gerald said. “It would be easy to attack him when he’s preoccupied.” “What are we going to use?” Jibril asked. It is the perfect time for them to talk because Merlin and the demon are still in the middle of a heated exchange. Surely he won’t notice us. Is the idea running through their heads as they continued to convene their plans.“You will burn him alive.” Gerald said. “The other attacks can follow, just make sure that you catch him inside your flames.”“I don’t have an attack like that though.” Jibril said.“Idiot. Use your saved up skill points and buy a use
Five Minutes.Merlin had to spend five more minutes after dealing with everyone in order to recover from the effects of his transformation. The recoil this brought is stronger than he anticipated. Making him feel every flesh he cut and every bone he broke. The pain is enough to make someone lose consciousness, but not Merlin. He’s used to this by now. All thanks to his former allies who made it their goal to torture him every day. Especially Arthur, a person high up on Merlin’s list of people to kill.Hence he’s able to begin looking into the rewards. There are a lot of things for him to sort because of this fight. And since his head isn’t entirely clear yet, he began with the easier tasks.[Notice: You have finished the Hidden Quest – Proof of Blood][Requirement: Kill five people in total.][Reward: Crest of Deprivation]That doesn’t sound good, are the words that ran through Merlin’s head as he read through the text. Deprivation is a negative word after all. But if it comes as a r
A man with graying hair entered the tavern. Eyes followed him as he moved, those that belong to the merry drunkards who are filling their bellies with alcohol. Moonlight can be seen from outside the windows, gentle in comparison to the liveliness of these drunk men.The man who just entered moved through the crowd, not making a single eye contact. Everyone knows that it’s a bad idea to look at men whose heads aren’t in the right place. This precaution is used by the man until he finally reached his destination; a group of five at the second floor of the tavern.None of them have cloaks hiding their faces. That’s why it’s easy to make out who they are. None other than Merlin’s former allies. Members of Avalon and, to be more precise, the ones at the top of the rankings of the Guild.“Any news Sam?” Arthur asked in an impatient tone.“None sir.” The butler answered. “There doesn’t seem to be any link between the dungeon clearers and Gerald’s team.” There isn’t any system announcement o
Merlin began his journey as the owner of a dungeon. He still hasn’t forgotten about his revenge but there’s one thing he realized. He doesn’t want to kill them all right away. The feeling of pleasure he got from taking down Gerald made him realize this. That he should be intimate with the death of every member of Avalon. Meaning, he needs to give each of them a unique death. This is the only way he’ll finally be at peace. That being said he focused his energy and resources into starting up his dungeon. He isn’t an idiot to just run into Genesis City thinking that he’d be able to get what he wants. The reason why every player begins in this place is because it boasts of a high level of security. Owing to the fact that powerful mages worked together to fortify its defenses, there is a barrier that protects this place which is comparable to the strength of Merlin’s [Aegis]. This makes it impregnable to monsters and, since Merlin is now half monster himself, he doubts if he can even pass
“Dang, those rich kids are really loaded.” Meor said, counting the silver coins that they’ve been paid with. Twenty in total. Half of the agreed amount which will only be paid in full once they finish their task.[Character Name: Meor] [Level: 22] [Occupation: Mercenary] [Class: Archer] “To think that they’d hire us to search a dungeon that’s already been cleared. They’re probably stupid.” Gild added, a muscular mercenary with scars across the parts of his skin that are showing. [Character Name: Gild] [Level: 25] [Occupation: Mercenary] [Class: Vanguard] “Don’t be fooled by the money. They won’t pay us that much for nothing.” Tirch said in a dry tone.[Character Name: Tirch] [Level: 28] [Occupation: Mercenary] [Class: Gladiator] “Ah come on, don’t be such a killjoy boss. When was the last time we’ve been given such an easy score?” Meor said. The three of them are mercenaries who came to life with the reconstruction of the world. They are real human beings, as real as ever
“Man I’m glad I upgraded this skill on time.” Merlin said, looking at his mana coated dagger. The weapon has the fallen mercenary’s blood on I as well. But as soon as he swung the weapon and removed the mana, the stain of blood flew away as well. Leaving his weapon clean and as sharp as it always have been. Saving him the time of having to do maintenance on the weapon.“Good job guys.” This praise is directed towards the makeshift fighters which Merlin made use of. The kobolds who are wielding the regular kobold crossbows.“I knew you had it in you.” He added, drawing back his weapons into his inventory. The monsters responded by making gleeful cheers, something which Merlin never thought he’d ever come across in his life. He’ll get a lot of this in the future as well. He can feel it. But before that, he needs to clean up the mess left by the fight. To be fair, the only reason this ever worked is because Merlin has prepared everything beforehand. And by everything, I mean literally e
[Azazel Dungeon]The ascension of Merlin’s dungeon came quickly. With it comes a couple of decisions that need to be made. All of which are, of course, connected to the strengthening of his dungeon.[Azazel Dungeon][Level 2][Core Health: 150/150][Number of Units: 20/40][Crystal Points Available: 20][Point Requirement for Next Level: 200]These are the basic information that’s currently in front of Merlin. Unlike what he initially thought, the next level will be easy to reach. With just a hundred points added. Though he knows that there is also a possibility for the leveling requirement to spike soon. Meaning, as the levels go up, the difficulty of reaching a new level will heighten as well. That isn’t of any concern to Merlin yet. All that he needs to think about are the new features that these levels added. One of which is something that he never expected to encounter.[Notice: A hero can be summoned][Requirement: Build an Altar of Heroes][Unit Slot Consumption: 20]This is a
[Inside Azazel Dungeon]Within the same three days that the Avalonians used in order to meet up, Merlin has made quite the progress as well. With the construction of his barracks being completed, he’s able to summon more units that will fight for him. These being the following.[Unit Name: Crawler][Unit Allotment: 2][15 CP Per Summon]This is a monster that resembles a human but with a larger head and a body with its skin seemingly sticking to the bones with how thin it is.True to its name, instead of walking it crawls on the ground. Looking closer at its hands and feet, it’s noticeable that these are razor sharp; able to be likened to a real predator. These monsters aren’t capable of holding any sort of conversation though. But this lack is made up for by their animal like instincts when given a prey. [Unit Name: Spitfire][Unit Allotment: 2][15 CP Per Summon]Unlike the repulsive look of the Crawler, a Spitfire has a better appearance. This is a monster that resembles an insect
