Against the Demon III

Before anything else, an explanation is in order. Baphomet’s armors isn’t easy to break. In fact, it should’ve taken more than what Merlin did in order to accomplish this. But the thing is, Merlin made sure that he’d be able to deal damage to the demon.

If you look back, Merlin attacked at the beginning of this fight as well. And he didn’t simply choose a random spot to strike. That’s right, the half-demon also struck the nape of Baphomet during that time. And though he isn’t able to cut through the first time, he at least got what he came there for – information.

The purpose of his initial attack is to understand just how difficult it would be for him to break the armor. Furthermore, although not being able to damage the demon the first time, this allowed Merlin to at least leave a dent on the armor. Meaning, the next time he attacks at this very same spot, it would be easier for him to break it.
