Merlin's PoV

“Ah this is a bit anticlimactic.”

There’s a voice that I can hear. Not anything familiar to me. It isn’t the voice of a prison guard. I know how every one of those bastards’ sound like. Including their laughs – especially their laughs.

“You’re not even going to fit the frame that you’re supposed to take. I mean, you’d still give it life but I doubt you’d ever be conscious about it.”

Now that my consciousness is becoming clearer, I can recognize that this is a child’s voice. A child is saying things I don’t understand. What, where am I even?

“I was contemplating about this before you know. About whether or not I should turn some of you into monsters and all of that. But then I figured, it’d be a waste not to do so.”

Even my sight is vaguely coming back. There’s not much to see though. Only the silhouette of the child and white. A place that’s filled with white. Nothing else but the shade of it.

“Oh my.”

The child looked at me.
