The First Labor I

As soon as the meeting with the elder of the forest ended, Merlin and Sylvie went back to the dungeon. There’s a couple of seconds of silence that’s shared between the two of them before Sylvie finally bursted into laughter. Entertained by the recent events that have just transpired.

“Man...it really worked the way you said it would.” She said, removing a tear from her left eye.

“Was there ever any doubt?” Merlin said in reply.

It’s easy to see why the elf would find this whole thing comical. It’s because she hates ents the same way she hates regular elves. Of course the elves are at the top of that hierarchy but she also hates ents all the same. That’s why she’s overjoyed to see that Merlin has tricked the creature; though it isn’t really that hard to do as long as someone knows a certain trait of the ents.
