CHAPTER 31

Verella jumped from the 998th floor without a shred of hesitation. She went down through the clouds and crashed on a flying drone. Not stopping there, she jumped onto another flying drone in the distance. Her jumps were packed with power yet accurate. Her claws could dig through the tough metal the drones were built with.

She signaled to the driver through the glass window to make a landing, or she wouldn’t hesitate to destroy the drone. The driver was forced to make a landing on the floating cobra institute.

Verella thought the mages would come after her straight away, but to her surprise, all the flying drones were heading toward another direction in the city, from where she could feel vibrations coming in through the air.

“Did some criminal escape the prison or something?” she wondered and looked at Myles who wasn’t crying even though he was bleeding from the ears. “I told you to shut your ears, didn’t I?”

“I did,” he replied with a slightly angry expression.
