“Huh?” Art raised an eyebrow when seeing the change in the woman’s expression, or better put, he could feel it.

‘What is she planning?’

Immediately after, he felt himself lose control of 5 earth bullets, which was when what she had in mind dawned on him. “ I see. What a bothersome woman. “

Because of the number of earth bullets, his control was spread thin enough for her to take control over a few.

Before Art was able to regain control to stop her, the five bullets shot towards the red demon-faced masked man.

As it reached the normal range, the shockwaves were released, rippling all five bullets while progressing further to Art.

All the earth bullets moved behind him, towards the direction of the incoming attacks, merging together to form a shield. The shockwaves slammed, cracking the shield while the resulting force spread across the arena.

“Is it just me or do those shockwaves seem stronger?” One of the contestants left standing muttered.

Art had a slight frown on his face w

“Lady Freda, where are you?” The holographic man’s image voiced out. “Why ask me that? I’m sure you already know where I am. Aren’t I being tracked?” She replied, obviously dissatisfied by this.“Well, that’s true, but what reason caused you to leave the school like that and come here.” He looked towards Art who wore a blank expression. “I guess there’s no need for me to ask that either. All this just to come see your failure of a brother?”Of course, he knew the infamous Art Von Silver and Art knew him as well. The man in the hologram went by the name Kurt Von Silver. He heard that this man was put in charge of his sister which was something the Silvers usually do for students who show promise in their third year, as part of the final act of preparations for the outside world. The atmosphere changed instantly, matching the frown on his sister’s face. “What was that you said about my brother?”Art was expecting this. The easiest way to piss her off was to speak badly about him right

Once again Art found himself seated in class. The first lecture for the day was scheduled to commence in the next few minutes.Art slowly glanced around before letting out a sigh.It was quite evident from some of their facial and body language that they had a lot of ‘fun’ last night. It was a different way than his former world, but the fact still remained that if you want to become successful you have to strive for it from an early age.Not everyone had the luxury and luck of becoming successful later on in life without earlier investments or struggle. Or at least that’s what he believed. He was still learning things from this world. Not that he cared about them tho.Just shortly after, Professor Prisca walked in. She seemed a little bit exhausted if paid close attention to.Standing in front of the class, she looked around letting out a sigh before proceeding to speak.“I’m sure you all had lots of fun yesterday. Well I have more good news for you.”The words she uttered lifted the

  • The Successor System    Raid Session 2

“You must be very confident to barely carry anything with you for the raid,” Art voiced out staring at Viron who wore regular clothes with the only equipment he had being an iron breastplate. All the first-year students were currently in a large hall, most dressed in defensive materials and carrying weapons. There was still the fact that some students had all or more items stored in spatial storage devices. So Viron stood out in a way…, or more like the trio.Sil was dressed in light gear made from the skin of a defense-based beast. It wasn’t too strong but it provided him with the mobility needed by an archer. As for his weapons, he had a quiver strapped to his back which contained low-grade arrows, as well as a low-grade bow which he held with his left hand.Basically speaking, it seemed as tho he was going to hunt rabbits and the exhausted expression on his face made him look even more unserious. But with proper use of magic, he could deal significant damage to a D-ranked beast at

Her eyes widened in surprise and disbelief as she stared at the figure just an arm stretch away from her.She never believed that she would end up in the same group as the person she was looking at.It wasn’t just her, her party members had similar reactions. After some seconds, she finally mustered enough courage to start a conversation.“W…well…P…Princess Elora, I find it hard to believe that we are in the same group. I promise to do the best I can to make sure that we are number one,” she voiced out with her head bowed in determination. Meanwhile, the person she was talking to seemed not to be paying attention, as her gaze was moving from side to side in search of someone.“He’s not here I guess,” she murmured shortly after with a hint of disappointment.******After getting teleported away from the large hall, members of each group found their selves in different teleportation stations. They didn’t need to go through the

To some people, this was the first time they were being exposed to a forest, while to some it felt like home…, like they truly belonged here. *Inhale* Art sucked the forest wind into his nostrils before letting it out. Finally, he was free. The similar scenery brought back memories of the lovely time he spent with his wolf pack. They would truly be proud of him if they saw him now. • The Grand Magus Test

Hurried footsteps echoed through a corridor, each one a sharp reminder of how much still needed to be done. The footsteps belonged to a man who barely registered the sound. His mind was far too preoccupied, and his body showed clear signs of exhaustion. As he moved, clipboards levitated around him. With a pen in hand, he scribbled quickly on the one before him, handing it to the assistant trailing behind—who was already weighed down with stacks of papers and documents—before grabbing another. Over and over, he repeated the process. One clipboard reported incomplete formations. Another flagged a lack of security in the northwest. This man was the event overseer of the Grand Magus Test. Today was shaping up to be one of the busiest days of his life. The Grand Magus Test was held every two years, and he had already made the usual preparations. But yesterday, everything changed.Word arrived that, instead of sending representatives, the leaders of the top three guilds were attending in

  • S-rank Artifact

Garron walked into a smaller door within the room.Art assumed it must be where he kept his most valuable items, as strong waves of mana surged out the moment the door opened—only to weaken once Garron stepped inside. Some kind of safety mechanism, most likely.Garron returned about a minute later, a box in hand.Art's gaze locked onto it.This time, the box was pitch black. Strangely, he couldn’t sense anything from it—but he waited patiently.Garron placed it on a smaller table near the edge of the room."Here. Open it."This was his first high-end project since the death of Rena, the former Third Sword.During its creation, he’d realized just how rusty he’d become over the five years without practice. He’d needed to pause at a crucial point in the crafting process and hone his skills on lesser works before returning to the mask. The knowledge he’d begun to grasp from the book Art had given him made a noticeable difference.Much of the ancient information on craftsmanship and alchem

  • Formed Pact

"How did he find out?" Art mumbled while chewing on a fruit. Garron had seen right through him before leaving—clearly, a man who'd dealt with plenty of children and teenagers in his life.Night had fallen, and the synchronized chorus of insects performed a gentle orchestral hum across the forest.Art was currently lying on the thick branch of a large tree, his gaze fixed on the dark sky overhead. This tree would serve as his home for the night, as he had decided not to return to Yuh’s family house. At this point, there wasn’t much reason to go back.Maybe they were expecting him tonight, which, disappointing them on his part, wasn’t great—but sometimes, plans got ruined by circumstance. After everything he had learned, wandering around—especially at night—wouldn’t be the safest move for him anymore. He stared down at the fruit in his hand, his expression shifting into a frown. Not long ago, he was indulging in mouth-watering meals and warm beds. Now, he was stuck with fruit.Sure, he

  • A ticket to revenge

"I'm sorry for your loss. But I think you're making a mistake," Art said firmly. "You decided to throw your talent away because she was killed? Isn't that the same as letting her killer go free?"Garron's face dropped. "You never justified her death. Her killer must be out there, living quite the life.""You think I'm okay with that? There’s nothing I can do!" Garron burst out in a mix of sadness and frustration. "Trying to get revenge would only lead to more death.""And why is that?" Art pressed.Garron let out a sigh. "That armor I made for her, along with the artifacts, were the best I could produce. If her opponent destroyed even those... then anything else I make would be useless.""So, let me get this straight. You stopped crafting because you feel guilty for causing Jira's mother’s death, and you think your skills aren’t good enough to help bring her killer to justice?"Seeing no response, Art shook his head in disappointment. "So if there was a chance to help get rid of the

  • Wasting potential

Art navigated more carefully as he searched for the blacksmith. He couldn’t afford to reveal his identity. He paid close attention to his surroundings, making sure he wasn’t being followed. So far, nothing seemed out of place. But he knew his abilities in the outside world still weren’t sharp enough to trust completely. It took longer than if he had just asked openly, but he finally found the building the boy described. A massive, bleached dragon skull hung above the door, suspended by chains that glowed faintly with runic symbols. Its eye sockets flickered with soft blue light, as if watching everyone nearby. He glanced around cautiously."That must be it," he muttered, eyeing another building nearby before walking over.Art stopped in front of the building, now confident he’d found the right place. The building was tucked between two larger structures, yet it had a more special presence.Made from polished blackstone and silverwood, the shop had faintly glowing etchings across its s

  • Mistaken Identity

Art walked back to where he’d left Kira. She immediately ran toward him the moment he came into view.Art could tell that staying alone was still very uncomfortable triggering for her after everything she’d gone through. "Are you alright?" he asked. She simply nodded, and they both left the area together.Art's next destination was to find an artifact blacksmith.Unlike weapon blacksmiths, who worked on creating or recreating weapons and armor, artifact blacksmiths handled other magical items—like the masks he had. Some blacksmiths were skilled enough to excel in both areas. But there was no way he’d find a good blacksmith in this place. He needed to go deeper into the city, to the mage districts—and taking Kira with him wouldn’t be ideal."Umm... Kira. I have to go to the main city. Do you know which teleportation station leads there?"She described the directions for him. "I'm guessing I can't go with you?""Yeah. It won't be very safe for you," he replied. "Would you be okay going

  • Beneficial Exchange

Under Art's watch, the shop owner loosened the fabric covering the box, exposing its design. The moment it was revealed, an ominous wave of mana surged outward."You might need to protect yourself with mana. It's dangerous," the man warned, raising his gaze to Art.Art wasn’t a newbie in dealings like this. In his former life, he had been exposed to similar situations since childhood. He had learned how to read people—their intentions, their unspoken words. The shop owner was conducting one final test to see if Art was truly worthy of the mask.If Art followed his advice and shielded himself with mana, it would signal that he wasn’t strong enough to naturally endure its aura. That would shatter the illusion of overwhelming strength he had carefully crafted. Someone at A or S-rank wouldn’t even flinch at something of this level, no matter how impressive it was. That said, Art could tell the mask's aura was genuinely dangerous. But he wasn’t about to let this opportunity slip away."Yo

  • Disguise Hunting

Art freshened up and changed his clothes. Most of the clothes he had become tight so he had to buy new ones.Art's plan on becoming an adventurer would pose a lot of risks if he left his face exposed. He needed to keep his identity hidden. Especially as he was sure that he would make a lot of enemies with his character. So he needed to buy a new mask since he had already used the ones he had back in the academy, and they could be linked back to him.He also decided not to use his Silver abilities. So he had to stick to his earth magic and the others he copied.Art wore a black hood to hide most of his face.Just when he stepped out of the house, he heard Kira's voice."Wait!" She said, walking towards him. "Can I come with you?"He wouldn't have agreed to it, but this was the first time that she wanted to leave the house after her traumatic encounter. So he was forced to accept."You'll have to cover your face with something."She nodded before walking in. Coming out shortly after, w
