Chapter 39: The Invitation

Raymond had his back turned to Julia, reeling out the portion of her book he had skimmed through while she was dozing off.

When he was done, he turned towards Julia who had her hand folded across her chest with a smirk on her face.

"It's easy peasy right?" He smirked

"That's a lie." She snapped back with a creased brow.

"Come on, it's not."

"I'm finding it really hard to retain the same line you just reeled. Tell me, you attended Harvard."

"Not a church rat like me even if I was given a scholarship, I wouldn't dare. You want to know why? I will tell you why. I can't stand the rich kids." He smirked

Julia chuckled at his dry joke and then with her head buried in her book, she began to head towards the kitchen to get breakfast.

Left alone in the living room, he flopped on the sofa and then picked up the remote.
