Overwhelmed, he could hardly breathe, questioning his presence in the house.
With caution, Caspian opened the door. He found Amelia, his mother-in-law, and a few guests on a Bohemian-style couch. Spotting Diana's bag nearby, he deduced that she was at home.
“We need you to cook for Lady Sinclair’s 80th birthday," Amelia explained.
Caspian didn’t respond at first but looked skeptical before he asked, “Where will the event be held?”
“Don’t worry about that, just do what I asked, okay?” Amelia replied, her head limply on the couch.
Caspian apologized, “Sorry, ma’am. By the way, where is Diana….”
Amelia interrupted him, saying, “Excuse me! Why are you asking about her? You’re daring me with such a foolish question.”
“It’s alright, ma–”
Quietly, Caspian entered the hallway that led to Diana's bedroom. He consistently heard moans of pleasure as he approached the door. His heart sank as the scent of sex polluted the atmosphere.
Caspian peeked through a tiny opening in the door hinge and saw Diana nude on the bed. She had a man on top of her, moving rhythmically. Before Caspian left, he heard Amelia's footsteps approaching while observing the man fiddling with Diana's bra strap.
“Where have you been for a while? I asked you to cook, not wash dishes,” Amelia's tone changed as she directed her attention to the living room.
“I'm going to do it, and it won't take much time,” Caspian replied.
Checking the time, Caspian saw ten missed calls from Diana and a video call notification from her.
"Hello, sweetheart. Waiting for you. Italian cuisine, wine at Taste Galore," Caspian softly said.
"Busy now. Back soon. Are you home?" Diana spoke, barely taking a breath. Caspian felt intrigued by what could have occupied her time.
“Yeah, I’m at home,”
Caspian, content, suggested, "Let's take a nighttime stroll down the street."
“Hmm," Diana replied with a booming voice, bursting into the kitchen and calling out, "Caspian, are you here?"
"Muah!" Diana playfully kissed him, then leaned on his shoulders, hearts racing in sync.
"Caspian!" she cried out, but he pretended not to notice her presence.
"Are you okay?" Diana asked, concern evident in her eyes. She reached out to hug him, but he refused, avoiding eye contact. Something was clearly amiss.
"Diana, I'm sorry. I won't be able to..."
“Why?” Caspian was taken aback by her statement.
He was caught off guard when she rejected a trip to a restaurant tonight. Caspian, tears welling up, knew his efforts were in vain. She never knew the sacrifices he made for the bookings.
“Sorry, I have an important appointment,” Diana said.
"Hahaha" "Who is this man?" As she prepared to leave, Caspian locked eyes with Diana and showed her a picture on his phone.
"I don't know who you're talking about," her intense gaze goaded her into denial.
Returning to the living room, Caspian found a shirtless man with multiple tattoos lounging on the couch.
“Just stay calm. It’s not what you think, and I can explain everything, okay?” said Diana.
Caspian responded, his voice harsh, “Explain what?”
“I saw you in a room being intimate with another man. Besides that, I’ve been asking you about the owner of the Luxor Hotel and Suites, but you’ve been refusing to tell me. So, why is your name and signature on this job termination letter?”
“Shut your trash. You talk to her with respect.” Amelia shunned him.
Caspian knew Amelia disliked him, but the exact reason remained elusive.
“I’ve always given her the respect she deserves since we got married."
"Haven’t I advised you not to marry this guy?" Amelia chastised Diana.
Amelia's disagreement with Diana and her union with Caspian had created a rift, sowing doubt and discord instead of unity.
"My daughter is no longer interested in this unhealthy relationship. Diana, what are you waiting for?" Amelia interjected, leaving Caspian breathless.
"Don't interrupt," Amelia scolded, but she seemed to have ignored her.
"I don't care if you're going to scold me over a paltry 300 bucks," Diana said, her jaws clenched as she turned to Caspian.
"We don't need people like you, always fussing over expenses. This man, Arthur Collins, CEO of Xceleris Inc. under Nebulon Conglomerates. Tonight, it's $5,000 for one meal." She continued.
"Well, do you mean you want to spend your time with him tonight, and why not with me?"
"Don't overthink it. He's my business associate, so we've always collaborated," Diana explained, raising her brows and exhaling deeply.
Caspian couldn't believe it, and his heart sank. After holding in his emotions for a while, they all hit him at once.
"Who is this man?" Arthur roared.
"Don’t mind him," she replied. "He’s my husband. A fake one," her voice barely a whisper.
"Sorry, honey. I have something to discuss with you," she said, her tone tinged with sadness.
With anticipation, Caspian looked forward to Diana's words, hoping for some good news. He nodded, ready to listen and made a conscious effort to erase the frown from his face.
In the tense silence, Diana, with a subtle, alluring pout, opened a briefcase filled with A4 papers. Caspian believed she was about to reveal an elaborate, high-priced blueprint for her company's upcoming year.
A sigh of exasperation escaped Caspian as he glanced at the divorce agreement, his shock clear.
A sigh of exasperation escaped Caspian as he glanced at the divorce agreement, his shock clear."Yes," she replied firmly, causing a deep ache in his heart."Is this how you plan to repay me, despite the vows we exchanged during our marriage?" Caspian asserted. His shattered heart and bewildered mind wrestled with the pain inflicted by the person he had once been obsessed with. Deep down, he suspected that Arthur had tainted Diana's perception of him.Diana, with determination in her voice, addressed Caspian, "Here are the divorce papers. I'm ready to proceed with the process. Can you review and sign the agreement now?""Kidding?" Caspian's body jolted with shock."No," she replied bluntly.Caspian's eyes welled up with tears as he slowly picked up the pen, struggling to accept the way everything was unraveling due to overwhelming emotions. She snorted, smirked, and demanded, "Just do it now!"Before even touching the document, his tears had already dampened it. First, Caspian signed,
"Y-yeah, I'm doing just fine. But my parents are dead, and... I never knew myself to be the Master." Caspian's jaws dropped in astonishment, his words shaking. "You got lucky. Your parents had been looking for you to become the next heir to the family," the lady said sympathetically before looking at him from head to toe. "Are you sure I'm the person you are looking at?" Caspian narrowed his eyes. She nodded, "Exactly!" "Your dad, Gerald, is still alive," she admitted, trying to convince him. Caspian blinked, at a loss for words. "I think that might just be his phantom," he replied. "Gerald Williams, in his septuagenarian age, is one of the most influential and flirty billionaires that controls the world economy." "The business subsidiaries he owns cover a wide range of industries, such as oil and energy, the Internet, entertainment and tourism, logistics, luxuries, manufacturing, real estate, and finance. His assets exceed a mind-boggling $5 trillion, with a net worth of over h
Caspian whispered urgently to Lady Ciara, "Gotta keep my identity hidden. Nobody should know who I'm."Gasping for breath, he rushed to Lady Ciara. "Miss, please cancel the party. It's crucial that my identity remains a secret. Our conversations should be just between us, alright?"Lady Ciara's jaw dropped, her face flushed, as she seemed to search the ground for something.Reassuringly, Lady Ciara said, "Don't worry, my team and I can ensure your safety. I'm not afraid of any adversaries, Master."Caspian hissed softly under his breath."Listen up! Just follow my lead. I don't mind being heavily guarded. I'm not a child, and you might not understand my intentions," he declared passionately."Understood."Lady Ciara waved her hand dismissively. "See you later, Master.""I'll be visiting my dad as well," Caspian announced."Alright, it's fine. These are Nox and Scorpion; they're here to protect you," she said as Nox and Scorpion bowed to Caspian.Caspian questioned, "Do I really need a
Caspian's footsteps thudded hard as a lady, accompanied by a team of staff members, approached him. "Young Master Caspian, welcome.""Standing before you is Emily, the hotel manager. I heard about the incident yesterday and offer my sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused by my staff.""I promise that such won't happen again," she assured him."No problem, there's no need to dwell on it," Caspian replied with a sly smile.Emily said, "But, Master, you still look offended."Caspian brushed off her concern with a dismissive sound."Trust me, I've already let go of the incident," he assured her."Can we have lunch together? I'd be glad if you could," Emily suggested as she moved closer to him."Sure, let's go," Caspian nodded in agreement. He then turned to his henchmen, Nox and Scorpion, and instructed them, "Stay here. I'll be back soon." Caspian joined Emily as they strolled toward the elevator. In just five minutes, the elevator whisked them to the fancy restaurant. Their rese
Gerald shrugged and continued, "These necklaces grant you martial arts and medical skills, along with astronomy and tech knowledge. You can even read minds and emotions.""Enjoy your meal!" Emily said, her cutlery clicking."It's delicious and mouth-watering," Gerald remarked, his nose wrinkling in delight."I see that. We've got the best chefs," Caspian said as he poured frothy drinks into two gold tumblers. They clinked their cups and sipped."Master!" Emily winced, giving Caspian a pleasant look.Caspian paused and shook his head, saying, "I'm going to compensate those chefs.""They will each receive $10,000.""I'll volunteer an additional $5,000 as the Young Master's father," Gerald declared, aiming to impress Caspian."Yeah, I'm a cook too," Caspian added. With a subtle leg cross and a gentle smile, Emily showed her appreciation to Master Caspian. Her gaze remained fixed on his face as they ate."Emily, you should take good care of Master Caspian. Remember, he is a divorcee," Ger
Arthur and Diana arrived at the strip club in his Range Rover, the cold breeze barely registering as Diana, wrapped in Arthur's hooded sweater, focused on her mounting anxiety. Their car was greeted by one of the burly bouncers who, with little ceremony, allowed them to enter.Arthur and Diana were led through the dimly lit club by armed guards, moving towards the exclusive champagne room tucked away from prying eyes.Amid her concerns about her ailing company, including the near-bankrupt Luxor Hotel, Diana couldn't fully appreciate the situation. She needed a swift plan to avert disaster, her mind racing even as they approached the guarded door."Pass?" the bouncer shouted, without waiting for an answer, and then let them through. As they approached the door, Diana frowned at Arthur. Her concerns for the failing company weighed on her, and she needed to discuss something important."Diana, are you okay?" Arthur inquired, drawing her closer.Diana's anxious expression didn't go unnoti
She raised the cocktail glass to her lips, unaware of the subtle switch Arthur had executed, her hand trembling as her nerves persisted. But then, her phone vibrated, causing her to drop her glass, her eyes fixed on the message notification that popped up on her screen. Arthur watched, uncertain if she would drink from her now-neglected cocktail. Her eyes widened as she read the words flashing across the screen, her face contorting with anger."Emergency: Mia at the hospital. Heart failure. Come ASAP.""What the heck!" she exclaimed, unable to contain her shockConcerned, Arthur asked, "What's going on, dear?"Panic surged through her like an electric jolt. Mia was her only daughter, her young girl, and the thought of her lying in a hospital bed made Diana's heart race.Diana's voice, rushed and filled with urgency, cut through the chaos. "We need to leave right now. Let's get out of here.""Arthur, it's Mia! She's at the hospital... it's a heart failure." Without waiting for Arthur's
Sirens blared as Caspian stepped out of the car, his hands cuffed by the police. In the background, Mr. Blanc, the administrative manager of the Luxor Hotel, snickered with a noticeably big grin on his face.Caspian smugly nodded at him with a pitiful glance, but it wasn't over yet. "Mr. Blanc," Caspian began, "I'll make you suffer for this."Pausing for dramatic effect, he froze Mr. Blanc mid-step. Not a single word was uttered by the policemen. No one moved until he taunted Caspian with his next words, "Can a man like you afford bail?""You, Caspian, stole money from Diana to buy these expensive clothes and necklaces," he added, bursting into laughter.Caspian replied, "Yes, I stole it, but remember, you're a thief as well. What does this have to do with you and Arthur? Are you two the ones who concocted that vile plan to embezzle funds from Luxor Hotel?"Caspian's anger flared as he disclosed classified information known only to Mr. Blanc and Arthur. This left Mr. Blanc stunned an
