Chapter [010] — SIMULATED ARREST

Sirens blared as Caspian stepped out of the car, his hands cuffed by the police. In the background, Mr. Blanc, the administrative manager of the Luxor Hotel, snickered with a noticeably big grin on his face.

Caspian smugly nodded at him with a pitiful glance, but it wasn't over yet. "Mr. Blanc," Caspian began, "I'll make you suffer for this."

Pausing for dramatic effect, he froze Mr. Blanc mid-step. Not a single word was uttered by the policemen. No one moved until he taunted Caspian with his next words,

"Can a man like you afford bail?"

"You, Caspian, stole money from Diana to buy these expensive clothes and necklaces," he added, bursting into laughter.

Caspian replied, "Yes, I stole it, but remember, you're a thief as well. What does this have to do with you and Arthur? Are you two the ones who concocted that vile plan to embezzle funds from Luxor Hotel?"

Caspian's anger flared as he disclosed classified information known only to Mr. Blanc and Arthur.

This left Mr. Blanc stunned and speechless. Caspian's inquisition left him with a twisted, confused expression on his face.

"And then there's the issue of Arthur assaulting ladies at your hotel. How dare you try to fool me that way?"

Mr. Blanc, confused but unwilling to admit his crime, fired back, "What the hell did you say?"

"There's no need to have pity on you since you already knew that hell will suffer you."

Caspian kept hurling accusations until Mr. Blanc finally snapped, challenging him, "Then prove it!"

"Oh, I can prove it!" Caspian shouted triumphantly as the police freed him from the handcuffs. "If you want evidence, I'll give you evidence that will leave your jaw dropped!"

Rage bubbled up from within Mr. Blanc as he saw the policemen encircling him, his arms pinned back by their strong grasps. The realization dawned on him as he was handcuffed, his blazing eyes and tightly clenched fists confirming the truth behind Caspian's words.

"Mr. Blanc, is that true?" one of the policemen queried, with a radio phone whirring. Blanc gasped deeply, his voice trembling, "Let him bring evidence," knowing it was all an effort to defend himself and protect Arthur's interests.

But his anger only intensified, threatening to explode outwardly at any moment.

"Okay, here it is!"

Caspian extracted a sleek tablet phone from his pocket, poised to disclose the clandestine conversations between Mr. Blanc and Arthur. "What is this?!" bellowed Mr. Blanc, his voice slurred and breath erratic as he dabbed at the screen of the phone.

The situation's enigmatic quality left him puzzled, not realizing that Caspian had already accessed his thoughts and uploaded the reality of their plans to a tablet device using hybrid intelligence techniques.

"Please...take it away," begged Mr. Blanc, tears streaming down his face like a stormy downpour. But despite his heartfelt plea, Caspian was not swayed.

"You're going to experience the depths of hell. Rotting in jail is only the start. You have no idea what you have done! You threw me out of my wife's company without justification. You swindled me out of every penny I had and kicked me to the curb with only $25." In a confrontational tone, he reminded Mr. Blanc of all his past atrocities.

"Or have you forgotten? A wicked person will always forget his wicked deeds." Caspian's words were laced with bitterness, stirring up the skeletons of the past.

To justify himself, Mr. Blanc begged for understanding, claiming, "It wasn't intentional, Caspian."

"Your boss, Arthur, is the next on my list. I'm gonna deal with him," Caspian sighed deeply as Mr. Blanc gave him an apologetic look.

"Isn't it hard to believe that someone like you, Mr. Blanc, would have to beg me?" Caspian smirked, his words sounding more humiliating to Mr. Blanc.

Just as the tension reached its peak, Caspian's pocket began to vibrate incessantly. With a feeling of urgency, he clumsily searched for his phone, only to discover it was his mother, Lady Ciara, calling.

Lady Ciara's voice rang out as Caspian picked up her call, "Where are you?"

"Uh, I'd like to see you, maybe tomorrow," Lady Ciara stuttered with worry.

"Tomorrow? What's the problem, ma'am?" Caspian uttered, unsure of their meeting.

"Let's meet now!"

"Meet me at the police headquarters!" Caspian exclaimed, his voice raucous; and then a loud beep followed.

"Nice one," he said delightfully, "Thanks, everyone." Turning away from Mr. Blanc, Caspian exchanged a firm handshake with the police officers, expressing his gratitude.

"You're so stubborn; why are you thinking that I bribed the police to harm you?" Caspian continued to say what he read from Mr. Blanc's mind, with the aid of the two powerful necklaces.

It finally hit Mr. Blanc that Caspian had the ability to read his mind, which was the reason for his uncanny knowledge.

"I'm sorry, but I didn't say anything. I only thought of that," Mr. Blanc stated as he made a beseeching gesture.

"Now, kneel down," Caspian commanded.

"Get on your knees, man!" He yelled at him. Without delay, Mr. Blanc's knees hit the ground with a thud.

"Do you fancy yourself smart or perhaps wise? When you sent the police after me, they arrested me, but it was all a ruse—a staged arrest to expose your plan," Caspian chuckled, a sly grin on his face.

"Okay, here's the deal," Caspian began, his voice steady and resolute. "Your boss is in trouble, as I mentioned before. I don't want you to tell him what happened here; don't even mention my name to him. If you do, I'll take legal action against you. But for now, you'll stay at the police station until you fulfill my promise."

Mr. Blanc, now kneeling, listened intently, fully grasping the seriousness of his situation. He felt the weight of his past actions bearing down on him, leaving him with no alternative but to submit.

"I... I understand," Mr. Blanc stammered, his voice barely above a whisper. "I won't say a word to Arthur. I'll do whatever you ask."

Caspian's stern facade cracked, revealing a softer expression and friendly demeanor. In an attempt to calm Mr. Blanc's anxiety, he offered a reassuring smile.

"As long as you fulfill the deal, you'll secure your way out of this place," Caspian calmly said.

Mr. Blanc found himself completely paralyzed with fear in response to Caspian's words, leaving him utterly speechless and at a loss for what to say next.

"Uh-oh, remember you still have a big stake in Arthur's punishment," Caspian reassured him as he stood up and left the police station.
