Chapter 9(Altercation)

"MAGITO EATERY",this were the writings on top of the big squared building that deals with all kinds of food recipies. It is a very conspicuous and attractive building largely due to the shinny helium lights around it. It boast for the best services in MacLean city in all aspects of service to they customers.It was a regular spots for the many wealthy students of Lontor University.

It's environment and structural arrangements was on another level for an eatery. Its natural setting, tranquility, affluence and also it's service of sumptuous meal was something that Rob admired. He barely misses out any day there for a meal.

Rob gently pushed the thick glassed door and showed his membership and identification card to the security guards who welcomed him. It was a routine and a tradition for Magito eatery to check their customers for security purposes despite most of the customers being very consistent.

After the security routine on Rob, he marched to the counter where he met the manager,a gentle looking middle aged man. "Sir Rob, welcome to Magito eatery,is it your usual sir?" the man asked trying to jot something down."No no, not today, I will try something new "Rob replied trying to maintain a serious countenance. The manger responded with a smile. "Ok then I will have the waiter bring the food menu to you sir".

Just few seconds on arriving to his table, a female waitress approached him."Good evening sir, what will you like to have" she smiled shyly as Rob tried to make eye contact and then he thought to himself "she must be a student,one of those that required a part time job to keep up with the mandatory tuition fees and it would probably be Lontor University cause it is the closest. She seemed bright and innocent. She gave Rob the food menu to select his choice" Uhm pork carnitas and a glass of Domaine leory red wine" he ordered while smiling back at her. The Domaine leory was his favorite red wine since he could remember despite the Maniks having they own successful wine brand business. Its raspberry and rose cherry smooth blend was exquisite & addictive to him that despite being very expensive he couldn't resist to consume it on any given opportunity besides money was never a limitation to him. He was always known for two quotes first was " A meal without wine is like a day without sunshine" and the second quote was " Life is too short to drink a bad wine"

After he was served by the waitress, he dived the meal like a prisoner who was deprived of good food for weeks. He was very famished right before he showed up at the restaurant. he was inside the library for a long time . Within few minutes he devoured the meal not minding the possible preying eyes of people in the restaurant.

Just as he was cleaning his mouth with his serviette, he noticed an altercation between a thug looking boy and a dull looking lady. As much he could see them from inside he could not discern what could be the problem as he could not hear them due to the presence of the sound proofed thicked glass wall but he could tell from their facial expressions that the altercation wasn't ending there. He turned away from the scene trying to mind his own business.

He took the last gulp of the glass wine and approached to the payment section. He paid for his meal and headed for the exit door back to his apartment. In a way he felt energetic and strong, he was on foot and he treaded gently along the Nedine street. He walked fearlessly and agile despite the loneliness and darkness of the street and the time of the night. It was already past 9pm and Nedine street isn't a safe place to be at such ominous time.

Nedine street was a place of low security,high gang violence, robbery,rape but to say a few It was one of the least developed area in MacLean city,it have been a tricky area for law enforcement agencies to respond, detect and prevent crime. Drug trafficking and usage was rampant in the vicinity. It is indeed a place you wouldn't want to be around. Students are being sensitized by various sectors at every given opportunity to stay clear off Nedine street at odd hours of the day unfortunately for those living at Royale street, people like Rob must pass through this road to reach to their various apartments.

Walking into the thick darkness of the street, he heard a muffled scream of a struggling lady. He immediately turned to the direction of the sound but could not tell where it was coming from but just as he turned to proceed his journey he heard the sound again but this time more louder and repeatedly ,he followed the path where the sound was emanating from and treading cautiously as not to alert the possible perpetrator

On reaching there,he saw some familiar figures but for a moment he thought where he has seen those face. He remembered the lady and the guy from the eatery but this time they were two more guys and they were trying to rape her. When he finally understood what was going he was contemplating on what to do whether to continue his journey or save the strange girl.

The lady was indeed a fighter, despite them being three,she was able to put on some resistance, but how long can she hold to it, obviously she must at one point waver and succumb to them. Just when they almost had they way,"Hey let her be"Rob thundered trying to force a smile on his face."Hey lad, mind your fucking business"the taller one sounded trying to instill fear in Rob."It wasn't a request,last chance guys,let her be"Rob this time narrowing his eyes making his face to appear mean. This made them very angry"Hero boy,You wanna play hero,let see what you gat!"the shorter masculine one yelled as he approached Rob. Two out of the three guys rushed to fight Rob while the other one held the girl preventing her from running.

Both immediately launched attack on Rob,who doged their first three move and sharply and skillfully lunched a punch on the head of one and then the other a heavy kick on his neck.This was able to break them and he then furiously beat them mercilessly.They then lied motionlessly like a lifeless body,the other took to his heel on seeing his two colleagues being man handled like kids. Every maniks were trained in many combat skills to protect themselves and people they love. Hence this paupers were no match for Rob.He made sure that he broke couples of bone on their body.

"Is alright,I mean no harm"Rob gently approaching the lady who was crying and fidgeting"thank you"she painfully grunted as she was held up by Rob. He made sure she was alright before he allowed her to go. He then called the police but just as he was about to leave the scene,his eyes caught up with a familiar image on the body of one of his victims."Fuck"the landsteins,he yelled out loud to himself. It was a tattoo bored by the landsteins.But how come he was sure that he knew Mateo and Ana,these were the two children of Jamal Landstein that schools in the same school with him but who is this,he thought, visibly angered.

He leaned down and checked for any form of identification on the motionless body of the tattoo bearer. He found his wallet and unsurprisingly to him it was a landstein,the name bodly written on the passport was Magi Landstein. Who is Magi Landstein? he asked himself.

Magi landstein is the favorite cousin of Jamal Landstein,He was reckless and very mischievous.To Jamal he reminded him of his young self. Magi was a student of Lontor University, the same University as Rob. He is a well know drug addict,gambler and had sociopathic traits. He also have a well know violent history with women especially those that didn't succumb to his woes and bidding. He believed that he can and must have anything he wanted,This was the case of Juliana,the girl that Rob just saved. She have been on Magi radar,she unknowingly was testing Magi's patience who then resolved that since she won't consent wilfully to be her girlfriend then he will get her by force.

Rob on the other hand knew it was very far from over,he was sure the Landsteins will try to get they revenge. The question is for how long will it take them to find him the culprit that injured one of they own. Rob was very sure of one thing,the consequences was imminent.
