Needs Adaptation

"She is one of the low class maids in this palace, sir."

Luke glared. All the maids or maids in the palace belonged to the king. Those who married were those who had the direct approval of the king. Eloise couldn't get married because the King was not in the palace since four years ago. The king is dead and the crown prince has run away. Eloise is clearly single at this point.

"Your Highness, Her Majesty the Queen would like to enter your room." The sound of the guard's scream at the door made John and Luke flustered. Luke immediately hid the paper in his jacket. He didn't want his mother to know as well as some of the other maids. at least for now. Life as royalty is not easy. The Queen could not immediately approve of Luke's choice of woman. After all he still needed to confirm the truth first.

"Good morning, my queen." Luke bowed to his mother. John did the same.

"Oh my son, I'm afraid I only dreamed last night that you've returned to the palace. I want to confirm it with my eyes one more time.”

Luke smiled a little. "I'm with you, mom. I really am back."

Queen smiled a little. Then they both had breakfast. There was only Luke and his mother at the enormous dining table and the staff serving the food near them. "So, do you have plans today, my son? You have been away from the palace for a long time.” Queen asked until breakfast.

Luke nodded his head. “I'm planning on going around today. You didn't change anything in this palace. So I want to recall my old memory.”

Queen nodded her head. "Tonight we will have a party to welcome you back." Luke just nodded his head at his mother's words. There's nothing he can deny.

After breakfast Luke was escorted by John around the palace. Including to Eloise's place. "Is she the girl?" asked Luke seeing the maids who were having a hard time carrying the laundry basket. He tried to recall his old memory. It does have a lot in common with Agatha. No wonder he didn't have any suspicions when Philip's family conspired to trick him.

"Would you like to meet him, your highness?"

"not for the moment." Luke shook his head. "I want to do something."

"I am always willing to follow your orders, your highness." John was already standing behind Luke to take all orders from the boy. Luke smiled faintly remembering all the insults that had happened to him. he couldn't wait to destroy them all one by one.

Agatha stretched a little then opened her eyes. The first thing she looked for was her cell phone. She immediately shouted surprised to see the clock listed on the screen. Agatha woke up very late even though she had an important meeting this morning.

"Shit! Why didn't you wake me up, huh? Don't you know that you have made me lose thousands of dollars…” Agatha's words stopped when she saw the kitchen was empty. She was used to always swearing at Luke every morning. But this time the man wasn't in the kitchen. Though Luke usually made them all breakfast. Luke also prepared the formal clothes Agatha needed for work. Today everything is empty.

Agatha exhaled when there was no food in the kitchen. She went to another part of the house. Agatha saw her mother who was doing treatment with classical music accompaniment. Agatha snorted lightly.

"I'm hungry but there's no food in the kitchen, mom."

"You can cook it with existing ingredients." Mrs. Samuel answered casually to her daughter.

"You know I can't cook." Agatha growled thinly with patience.

"I can't cook either, dear."

Agatha rubbed her face roughly. "So, haven't you had breakfast since morning?"

“I already had breakfast. This morning there was still bread so your father and I had breakfast with it."

Agatha gaped. "You didn't leave a single piece for me?"

"When you wake up during the day." This time Mrs. Samuel sat up straight. The middle-aged woman looked offended. Her daughter really doesn't know manners. The woman had woken up late and was now railing against her mother with much protest. "Agatha, you better get a loan to pay off our debt. I don't want to end up homeless."

Agatha snorted a second time. "Why should I? Why don't you work hard at it? shouldn't you be thinking about solutions to the problems we're facing right now, not doing treatments that add to the bigger expenses.”

Instead, it was Mrs Samuel who snorted. "Agatha, you're an adult. It's time you make me happy. I gave you proper education from childhood so you can take care of me at this age.”

Agatha waved her hands lazily arguing with her mother. "The first time I met a cruel mother like you, mom."

“You can find another mother if you don't like me. why did you choose to be born in my womb?” Her mother still wanted to argue with her.

Agatha lost her temper again. "I also never chose to be born in your womb."

“Hey, why are you guys fussing over something as ridiculous as this?” Mr. Samuel came to calm mom and daughter.

"I'm not starting if your wife can act like a good mother even a little bit."

“Are you able to act as the expected daughter? You even get mad when I don't serve breakfast for you. Even though you have hands. You should be more independent, Agatha.” Mrs. Samuel still did not want to give in.

“You fired all the employees, mom. If you didn't do that, I wouldn't be able to ask you for breakfast. You are a responsible person.”

Mrs. Samuel rolled her eyes. “There used to be Luke in this house. Why should I hire so many people if he can do all the chores? I save money." Not forgetting to emphasize every word for the last sentence to remind her of the accusation her daughter made towards her earlier.

The second half of the mother and daughter quarrel continued until Mr. Samuel Philip as a husband and father lost patience with the two of them. “Enough!” he snapped in a fairly high tone. Agatha and Mrs. Samuel were silent even though from their eyes they still blamed one another. “I brought an invitation from the palace. This isn't the time for you to fight like this but you should think about the best dress."

"An invitation from the palace?" Mrs Samuel and Agatha compactly repeat the words of mr. Samuel.

"Dad, are you sure?"

Mr. Samuel took out the envelope in his hand then showed an invitation with the coat of arms of the Puissance palace. in the invitation it was clearly stated that the palace wanted them to attend tonight's party.

"Oh, honey, does that mean Prince Luke has called off his divorce from you?" Mrs. Samuel had forgotten her fight with her daughter. Agatha smiled approvingly. She had also forgotten her anger at her mother. An invitation from the palace succeeded in reducing the anger of the two people.
