Liam, Lindy, and Jordan felt the chilly bite of the early morning air as they exited the car at the cabin. The tranquility of the location was a sharp difference from the disorder they had recently fled. The solitude was reassuring, yet it also instilled a subtle feeling of unease in the group.

Lindy took the lead, pushing the old wooden door as it creaked open. The cabin, although small, was charming and comfortable with its rustic atmosphere, old furnishings, and curtains that appeared untouched for years. It was ideal for their requirements: a spot to conceal, gather, and plan their next step.

Upon entering, Jordan immediately collapsed into a shabby armchair, massaging his temples. He whispered, "I feel secure here, but will it last?"
