“Yes, I met him earlier!” Yve replied. Her eyes narrowed, trying to read John’s expression. She needed to find out exactly what had happened and what she didn’t know about behind her back.

“What was Orion looking for you for?” John asked.

“Why are you asking? Don’t meddle in my affairs!” Yve snapped.

“Of course it concerns me. Don’t forget, I’m your future stepfather!” John said with a smug smile, watching Yve’s expression change.

“Stepfather?” Yve scoffed. “No way. I’ll never accept you as my stepfather. So stop meddling because you’re nobody. You’re just someone Christian happened to hire here, nothing more!” With that, Yve walked away, leaving John behind.

Once inside her room, Yve quickly freshened up. A day filled with work, compounded by issues with Christian, left Yve feeling exhausted. She wanted to soak for a while to refresh herself.

After a satisfying bath and change of clothes, Yve lay down while scrolling through her phone. As she was engrossed in checking her friends’ so
