CHAPTER 146: Small talks

Lawton faced Amanda on the bed and asked her if she was still finding information on Barry.

"Yes," Amanda said.

"I know you told me not to continue with the investigation but I want to," Amanda added.

"It's fine," Lawton said.

"I was just worried about you," he added.

She then starts to tell Lawton about how her day went.

She told him about how some men came over to address them at the office and how things have been at the office since the new ceo got appointed.

Although Amanda is happy she doesn't have to work extra time, she is sad for Barry.

"He must be devastated," Amanda said.

"I know how much he loved the company, " she added.

She then told Lawton that new rules had been set in the company but nobody knew the new CEO.

"He hasn't resumed work since he got appointed," Amanda said.

Lawton pretends to be surprised by the news as he watches his wife talk.

"I wonder if he is hiding his true identity," Amanda said.

"He's probably busy with work," Lawton said.
