Chapter 0005

The atmosphere grew tense as Cassian said nothing, leaving Ace and the guards waiting in suspense. It was only for a moment, but they felt as if they had been trapped for a long time.

Cassian threw the access card at Ace, saying, "Let's check if this is real!"

The guards gulped nervously as his words reminded them of their impolite behavior. If it were ten minutes ago, they would not have believed that the access card was real.

But after seeing Ace on his knees, it was evident that Cassian was no ordinary person. Ace took the thrown access card without offense. He walked up to the gate and swiped the card.

A moment later, the gate opened. It can only be closed and opened with the access card. Victory Hill was a community of influential rich people, so there was no way anyone could forge access to it.

The guards' jaws dropped in tremor. It took them some time to respond to this shocking incident.

"Lord, you can enter the villa," Ace bowed as he returned the access card to Cassian.

Seeing that, the guards realized they had not reacted because they were too shocked. They hurriedly knelt to beg Cassian for mercy.

"I'm the new captain here, so I can't recognize you! Please forgive me!" the captain started first, followed by the other guards.

"We've only been working for a year. That's why we don't recognize you!"

"Please forgive us just this once. We promise to treat you with respect when you come next time."

Cassian snorted at the change in attitude of the guards. "I don't want to see snobbish workers here. They could cause much trouble in the future because of their attitude!"

"As you wish, Lord," Ace turned to the guards. Their faces were sad, but he must not hesitate. "As of today, you are no longer part of Victory Hill! You are dismissed for your disrespectful actions!"

The guards cried at this declaration. Many wanted to work at Victory Hill because it was a gathering place for the influential rich.

Being fired from Victory Hill for being disrespectful was horrible. A bad work history would make it difficult for the guards to find work and socialize.

"Please reconsider your decision!" the captain pleaded with Cassian and Ace.

However, Cassian ignored the begging guards. He glanced at Elara. "Take me to the top of Victory Hill."

Elara nodded and led Cassian into the car. Before driving off, she grinned mockingly at the guards.

"Goodbye, this cheap car is going to Victory Hill!"

The guards could only cry regretfully while Ace breathed a sigh of relief after Cassian and Elara's departure. He almost died of shock at getting a call from Cassian after a long time.

Victory Hill belonged to Cassian. But all this time, he had only given orders over the phone or sent his subordinates to monitor the situation. His sudden arrival piqued Ace's interest.

Why had Cassian gone blind, and what had he come here for? Ace was curious but did not dare to ask.

On top of Victory Hill was a luxurious villa with a secret garden. The only people who could access this place were Cassian or his confidants.

The community members had villas in other areas. They were not allowed to approach the top without permission, even if they were influential people in the country.

Cassian walked into the garden filled with various herbs. He took a deep breath, inhaling the scent of the herbs that had different fragrances.

"What are you doing here?" Elara asked as Cassian began picking different herbs.

“Elara, I told you that the game just starts, so don’t worry and trust me.” Cassian smiled, he picked different herbs in his hand, said calmly.

“I don’t understand, commander...” Elara was confused.

“Do you think I’m a foolish person? I know Ronin’s plot long long ago. He was a jealousy person, I knew he would harm me somehow.” Cassian said with a confident smile, “He thought I’m blind and lost my power, but...here, with these herbs, I could heal myself.”

Elara Elara was surprised by Cassian's words. She finally understood why he had taken the president's medicine without hesitation. It turned out that he had planned everything well.

Cassian said as he finished gathering the needed herbs. "My enemies will think I'm still blind. Ronin is not the only one who wanted me to die, but now...I become the hunter, let’s see who are trying to harm me!"

He placed the herbs on the table with the tools to concoct them. Carefully, he mixed the ingredients and the smell of unique herbs filled the air.

Once the mixing was finished, he poured it into a small bottle and drank it. Elara waited nervously as she had never heard of herbs that could cure blindness.

"D-Does it work?" she hesitated, seeing the black potion.

Cassian said nothing. The potion flowed into his body. He closed his eyes as a strange, warm stream flowed towards his head.

At the last drop, he opened his eyes. The world was no longer dark. Sunlight pierced his eyes, and he could slowly see the colorful garden with various herbs.

"I didn't expect the garden to be this beautiful," he smiled thankfully.

Elara smiled back, her eyes filled with tears of joy. "Are you really able to see again?"

"Yes, I can see you crying."

"Commander, this is a miracle! There is no one as great as you in this country!"

Cassian's face turned gloomy. "But that greatness can be lost in just a moment. I've come to realize that people can find loyalty only when they're in difficulties."

Elara was saddened to hear that. Of course, she and her other friends were loyal to Cassian because they admired him.

But Aveline was not. Once she found Cassian worthless, she wasted no time dumping him. The divorce papers would not have been thrown out had she known that her husband was the God of War everyone praised.

Cassian's cell phone rang, breaking the silence. His forehead furrowed when he saw Aveline's name, but he picked up the call.

Aveline directly spoke in a cold tone, "I've sent the divorce documents to your house. Please take care of it today. Let's settle everything in court tomorrow morning!"
