An old man walked up to the man standing with a cold face. The man named Jairo immediately bowed his body as he looked up at the man wearing ordinary-looking clothes.
"Young master Noah, I congratulate you, for you have won back what was yours all along." Jairo handed over some files that were in a folder.
Noah looked at him with a cold face. His muscular hands immediately grabbed the files and opened them. Instantly, he smiled when he saw they were all his important files.
"This is very good. I finally got them back." His face turned more serious again.
The old man before him bowed his head slightly. He smiled at this victory. "Congratulations, master, you will inherit all of this again."
Noah nodded. He felt relieved that he had regained his rights after several years of being banished from his family.
Jairo handed him a small red box. There, Noah stared at it for a while. Then he quickly took it.
"What's this?" Noah furrowed his brow as he looked at the box closely...
"Young master, it's a bracelet made of genuine jade. And it is a hereditary inheritance that, of course, is now rightfully yours. And you can give the bracelet to your current wife." Jairo explained.
"After this, you can return to this family," Jairo said.
Noah stared at the bracelet for a while. He thought about his wife. Noah was sure that she would be happy to receive the bracelet.
By now, Noah had returned home. He immediately prepared some delicious food and intended to surprise his wife.
After some time, Noah managed to prepare everything. He also had the bracelet in his pocket. "I just need to wait for Ruby to come home. I'll give her this right away." He smiled slightly at the thought of his wife's face returning.
Ruby was the CEO of her own family-owned company. And, of course, it was common for her to come home late at night. And Noah was always waiting for her.
After a while, Noah heard the sound of a car, so he immediately welcomed his wife's arrival.
Opening the door, he smiled to greet Ruby. "I'm glad you're home, Ruby." Noah greeted her gently.
Ruby just stared at him. They had been married for three years, but Ruby had always been cold and stiff with Noah. Despite that, Noah still loved her very much.
"Why haven't you rested yet?" Ruby raised one eyebrow at her husband's face.
Noah was still smiling gently. "Ruby, I was waiting for you. And I've prepared dinner. We can have dinner together after this."
Ruby frowned at Noah's explanation. But she quickly shook her head. "I already ate out."
Noah heard that with disappointment. But he smiled at Ruby anyway. He tried to understand his wife. "Well, that's fine. Maybe next time we can eat together."
Ruby passed by Noah unceremoniously, but Noah immediately grabbed her hand, which made Ruby shake her hair in annoyance.
"Ruby, I want to talk to you," Noah spoke softly.
Ruby remembered something, so she quickly turned to look at Noah. "I also have something I want to talk to you about."
Noah looked at Ruby seriously. He felt uncomfortable at the moment. He looked at Ruby gently as he said, "Alright, you can go first."
Noah immediately took out a bracelet from his pocket. He stared at the bracelet for a while and smiled. He was sure that Ruby would like it.
Ruby pulled her hand from Noah's grip. She walked past her husband and stopped at the sofa. She put down her big bag and took out some files inside the brown bag.
Ruby took out a stack of papers from her bag. She placed them on the table in front of Noah.
Noah frowned when he accidentally saw the paper title with the words divorce agreement. This surprised him.
He immediately grabbed one of the stacks of papers with trembling hands. "Ruby, what is this? Why are you doing this?"
He had no idea that Ruby would take this action against him. They had been married for a few years, and Noah thought everything was going fine.
Ruby stared at Noah with a piercing gaze. She was so fed up with Noah all this time. She quickly stood up from the sofa and spoke, "When we got married, neither of us had anything. And after three years, I've become a CEO and can grow my family's company, but what about you? You didn't even do anything all this time."
Ruby let out a long sigh. She leaned in slightly and looked at Noah more closely. "Noah, I want a real man to be my husband. Not a gigolo like you who only relies on me." She gave a harsh insult.
Noah rose from his seat. His hands clenched into fists at his wife's harsh words. His heart ached, and he wondered if his wife's words had hurt his pride. Noah didn't expect this to happen at all.
He looked at Ruby's face with a cold look. "Three years ago, I sold my house cheaply and gave all the money to you so that you could open a company. But what about now?"
A small sigh was heard from the beautiful woman. She did not utter any words. But her hand nimbly took something back from inside her bag. It was a check for one million dollars. Then, she quickly gave it to Noah.
"Three years ago, you sold your house for two hundred thousand dollars. And I'm giving you five times that back." Ruby placed the check on the table in front of Noah.
Noah felt a great pain in his heart. He stood looking at Ruby's face with a strange look. Even the expression on Noah's face had changed.
"How could you say such a thing? I love you so much, so I sold my house. And that's when I thought we loved each other." Noah gave his explanation.
Ruby smiled bitterly. She shook her head. "You should know that love can change. Moreover, we have been together for several years, which makes me feel bored with you. Especially since you haven't given me anything special in my life." Ruby emphasized everything to Noah. Then she looked away.
He looked at her coldly. The sound of sighing could be heard again. "Is everything just business to you now?" His voice sounded so heavy.
Ruby looked back at him. She thought that Noah was too naive. She smiled bitterly. "Noah, you should have known that life would change. And you don't understand with such advanced thinking."
Ruby shook her head. Maybe in the past, she could accept Noah's ordinary circumstances. But with life now, she realized that everything costs money. And Noah had never given her anything more than the money from the house sale back then. He even felt disgusted with Noah for not being as forward-thinking as he was.
Meanwhile, Noah looked at Ruby with disappointment. He even remembers many of their sweet memories when they were newly married. But now Ruby was very indifferent and arrogant.
The beautiful woman noticed her husband's appearance once again. "At least I still have a heart, and that's why I returned the money to you. You should be grateful because, with that, you will be able to live well even though your life will probably remain troubled like a useless person."
Noah placed the object he was holding on the table. He quickly picked up a pen, then he spoke in a cold voice. "I'll sign it right away."
Ruby stared at Noah's actions calmly. She was slightly relieved that Noah had agreed so quickly.
Ruby's gaze fell on the clock in her hand. She realized it was midnight and intended to give Noah a bit of her goodwill. She spoke, "You can stay in this house for the last night."
Noah gave her a cold look. "That won't be necessary. I'm leaving anyway." His voice sounded firm.
He picked up the check that was in front of him. Ruby saw that and looked at Noah with disgust. But she was shocked when Noah destroyed the check he had given her. But Ruby didn't care.
"I'm leaving," Noah spoke coldly. He couldn't lie if he was feeling very sick.
Noah quickly walked out of Ruby's presence. He walked past her and immediately opened the door. But Ruby stopped him.
"Wait." Ruby walked after him.
Suddenly, Ruby held out her hand and gave the bracelet she picked up on the table to Noah. "Take this."
Noah stared at the jade bracelet that Ruby handed back to him. Before Noah accepted it, Ruby spoke, "Maybe you forgot about this. And you won't have to repurchase cheap stuff like this."
