Without hiding a single detail, because he wasn’t David’s friend and as such had no reason to protect him, Jeremiah told Reginald everything that happened downstairs.

From the altercation with Benson caused by his disgusting behavior toward Lynette to David’s disgraceful response to the whole incident, Jeremiah spilled everything to Reginald.

Each time something about him was said, David felt like the ground should just open up and swallow him as the disappointed glances he got from Reginald made him want to disappear.

He felt guilty, ashamed, and humiliated.

“I believe that the way the servants are punished needs to be reevaluated. It can be too harsh, and something has to change,” Jeremiah said firmly.

Reginald, who never expected to hear of any of that that late in the afternoon, groaned.

To think that the second conversation he would have with Jeremiah on the same day of meeting him was going to be about his concerns for the wellbeing of the servants.

Jeremiah and David left the study and once they were gone, Reginald and Kingston continued the conversation they were having before the interruption happened. “So, what did the Shaman say after reaching out to him?” Reginald asked. The Shaman from when Jeremiah’s mother, Lauretta, was pregnant had called Reginald not so long ago, but because he was busy at the time he had missed it.When Reginald eventually saw the missed call, he tried calling back but the Shaman didn’t answer.Knowing that the Shaman wouldn’t be calling without a good reason, especially considering the fact that it was on the same day he was reuniting with his long-lost son, Reginald made sure that he got in contact with the Shaman no matter what.He tasked Kingston with calling the Shaman’s number at regular intervals until he eventually answered and that’s exactly what happened.“He said that there is a possibility, although tiny, that Dark Emblem would attack tonight at the welcoming celebration for Young Master

Just then, he remembered that he had sent the guards to take all of them to one room and prevent them from leaving until he said otherwise or it was time for them to go home.“So this isn’t a prank” Jeremiah said skeptically.“Prank? Why would I prank my older cousin?” David said and then chuckled.Jeremiah furrowed his eyebrows as he looked at his cousin suspiciously.Jeremiah wasn’t a fool, he knew a fake laugh and smile when he saw one. After what happened with Mary and all the times she pretended to be a loving wife to him, Jeremiah had learned his lesson and wasn’t going to fall for another person’s deception ever again and that included David. “I don’t know. I don’t see why you would be thanking me for what happened” Jeremiah said and David smiled.“That’s because I agree with you and uncle. What I did, or in this case tried to do to that blonde maid as punishment, was a little too much. If you hadn’t stopped me, I know I would have regretted it later” David said and Jeremiah,

“Condition? What condition?” David asked. Jeremiah knew that there had to be a reason why David wanted his friends free during the welcome ceremony, so he was going to test out how high David’s desperation was. The more desperate David was, the more serious the reason had to be. “Your friends would have to take up roles among the staff that will work in the ceremony,” Jeremiah said. “What?!” David exclaimed, his eyes widened. “That’s right. The only way I’d agree to let your friends out of that room after what they did is if they agree to be a part of the ceremony’s staff.” Jeremiah said and David, who was surprised that that was his condition, blinked multiple times in a second. “B-but why do you want that? I’m sure there are already so many servants and hired staff who would be working in the ceremony, so why do you want my friends to also be a part of it?” David asked and Jeremiah groaned. Deep within Jeremiah’s mind, he thought ‘Normally, you would have disregarded the id

“My phone? What for?” David asked and Jeremiah sighed exasperatedly. “Don’t ask me irrelevant questions and just do it” Jeremiah said, his hand gesturing that David should hurry up. “Okay,” David replied skeptically then he reached into his pocket and took out the phone.“Good, now look for the voice recorder app and open it” Jeremiah instructed and David nodded.“Okay, I’ve done that. Now what?” David asked once he had opened the voice recorder app like Jeremiah told him to.Jeremiah gestured that he should give the phone to him and David did so hesitantly. It was clear by his responses since Jeremiah mentioned his phone that he was very attached to it.The reason could be because the punishment he got from Reginald was that everything he used to have access to was now limited and, as a result, his phone, which was one of the few possessions he was allowed to keep, seemed many times more valuable now.He didn’t want Jeremiah to do something that would damage the phone by accident o

“Outfit for the welcome party? She means a change of clothes?” Jeremiah grimaced then looked down at what he was wearing and groaned. He looked at the full-body mirror on the wall beside him and stared at his reflection, realizing that what he was to attend was a party meant for the high class and he was going to be the center of attention. Because of that, the outfit he had bought from the High Fashion Emporium wasn’t going to suffice, especially after he had slept in it and caused the fabric to get rumpled and a little stained. He had also sweated in it during his tour of the estate and that sweat had now begun to smell a little. Everything made the outfit not be in a condition appropriate for the welcome ceremony and Lynette bringing a change of clothes for him made a lot of sense. “I’ll be right there,” Jeremiah said then left the window and walked to the door. He opened the door and stared at Lynette. Immediately, his attention was drawn to the outfit she came with. “T

“Are you asking me, young master?” She asked, pointing at her chest. “Yes. I mean, who else would be I talking to? It’s just you and I in this room” Jeremiah replied. The maid chuckled bashfully. “Sorry about that, young master. I was just surprised is all” Without meaning to, she started thinking about what Jeremiah’s life must have been like that at twenty-five years old he didn’t know what to expect from a ceremony like the one happening currently when he was a prince. Shouting he have a lot of experience? She thought.“No problem. Anyway, do you have the tips or what?” Jeremiah asked and Lynette nodded. She gave him all the tips she could think of on how to behave and what to expect during the welcome ceremony and Jeremiah thanked her. After that, Jeremiah looked at Lynette from head to toe and the maid became nervous.“Young master?” She asked, wondering why he was checking her out like that.“Is this what you’re going to wear to the welcome ceremony?” He asked and the maid

“You’ll be attending the welcome ceremony with me,” Jeremiah said boldly, and Lynette’s eyes widened. “Y-you w-want me to what?” Lynette stuttered, her face adorned with disbelief. “I said you’ll be attending the welcome ceremony with me.” Jeremiah said, and then noticed her strange reaction. “What? Is there anything wrong with what I said?”Lynette shook her head vigorously.“No, there isn’t anything wrong, Young Master. It’s just that…” She said, then paused when she saw the look Jeremiah was giving her.It was one of confusion, and, most importantly, concern. She instantly became bashful and blushed.“It’s just what? Don’t be shy, tell me” said Jeremiah in a soft tone as he stepped closer, his demeanor reassuring her that he wouldn’t be offended if she wanted to refuse his offer.“It’s just that I’m a maid and you’re… well, you”“Okay? Status, class, and money aren’t things I look at when associating with people, as I’ve seen rich and affluent people who are terrible and low-class people who are the best in the world. Just two days ago, the phrase “I live to serve you, My Lord” was something Jeremiah never imagined he would hear directed at him. However, hearing it from Reginald had transformed it into the most enticing sentence anyone had ever spoken to him. This just goes to show how quickly things can change in a matter of hours. From being a nobody orphan whose wife cheated on him and asked for a divorce, to becoming the heir of the most powerful family in the world who also had a very beautiful woman/mythical being waiting for him to remember their past together so they could get married. His life truly was a dream come true and if he was told two days ago that this was what his near future would be, he never would have believed it.“Thank you” Jeremiah replied and Reginald, whose head was bowed, smirked. Seeing Reginald, their king and the highest authority they’ve known for many years, bow to Jeremiah felt strange to the maids but it was also nice to watch because it meant that everything w

With each passing second, the turmoil and fear in the hearts of all the maids standing there increased to new heights. Jeremiah, having never been in this type of situation before, was clueless about what to do.As someone who had spent his entire teenage and adult years being looked down upon by all the people around him, Jeremiah had gotten used to not being and also not being seen as a threat or an object of fear and intimidation to others.Things changing to what it was now felt jarring and Jeremiah was left not knowing what to do to quell the situation. “Umm…” Jeremiah said but stopped when he felt a hand on his shoulder. He looked to the side and saw that it was Reginald holding him. “Dad?” Jeremiah mouthed.“Don’t worry, My Lord. You’re still new to this and until your past memories come back, you’ll have some challenges ruling over people. Fortunately, you have me to help” Reginald smirked. Jeremiah looked at the crowd of maids then he looked at Reginald and calmed down.

Seeing Jeremiah transform before their eyes was like watching a scene from a movie, but with the most spectacular special effects imaginable. The color and texture of his arms changed, becoming scaly in appearance and possessing a toughness almost equal to steel. They also grew longer, with the muscle fibers becoming more prominent, while the fingernails lengthened and turned completely black.Speaking of his fingernails— which could be called claws at that point— they looked sharp and hard enough to effortlessly slice through flesh and even cut through bone like marshmallows.Jeremiah's facial structure also went through some changes, becoming less human-like— sharper and wider to be exact. His teeth grew longer and sharper, his ears elongated like elves’, and his eyes…His eyes completely changed in color and shape, taking on the appearance of a reptile’s, with a dangerous black-and-gold tint that sent chills down the spines of everyone who met his gaze.If this were a video game, b

The maids all looked in the direction Reginald was gesturing at, their eyes as sharp as eagles as they tried to see who Lord Crimson was. They had never been more interested in anything than they had been in this particular topic since it was brought to them. After all, who wouldn’t be interested in finding out the validity of something that had been a major part of their life growing up? After looking for a moment, all the maids could see were Jeremiah and Kingston—no one else. Confused, they glanced away from the two, wondering if Reginald had gestured in the wrong direction. There was clearly nothing in the opposition direction too so they didn’t even bother looking there. Instead, they looked among themselves and pondered if Lord Crimson hadn’t come to the room yet. Still, that didn’t make sense because the look on Reginald’s face was that of someone who was certain that Lord Crimson was where he was pointing. However, their eyes told them otherwise—so what on earth was going o

The maids glanced at the guards, who, as they realized while panicking about their throbbing tongues, had remained straight-faced throughout the entire ordeal. They then groaned, grateful for the clarification Reginald had just provided.“Only a select few didn’t experience what you all did but do not be offended by that,” Reginald said, drawing the maids’s attention back to himself. The few who didn’t feel the discomfort on their tongues because the secret spell wasn’t cast on them were Bruce, David, Kingston, Reginald, Obadiah who casted the spell, and of course Jeremiah. The maids could figure out the identity of the people Reginald was talking about and weren’t offended by it. Rather, it made them more curious about what Reginald was going to tell them that was going to shake their worldview.“The sensation you all felt was the result of a spell called The Secrecy Spell. Its purpose is to make sure that none of you can relay what you’re about to find out in this gathering to some

All the maids started reacting to the sensation they were having on their tongues, wondering what was going on.Was it in all their heads or was something actually physically happening to them? Some reacted calmly and level-headedly to the strange sensations their tongues were experiencing, while others panicked. However, they were all concerned and worried about their tongues suddenly acting up.“My tongue. What’s happening to my tongue?!” Said one of the maid who moved her tongue around her mouth, trying to understand the strange sensation she couldn’t explain. It was like the tongue was throbbing, getting hot, itchy and numb, all at the same time, which didn’t make sense and was something that had never happened before. “You’re feeling that too? I thought I was the only one. What’s going on?” Said another who brought out her tongue and touched it, not feeling the throbbing or hot sensation on her finger which made her think that she was imagining it but that didn’t make sense be

Jeremiah used to think that the platinum debit card he got from Anthony, the manager of Polaris Bank, was the highest form of debit card anyone could get and use for his/her transactions. However, here he was finding out there was an even greater level than that. The Black Debit card. This was a card that only one bank in the entire world provided its customers. In fact, the bank only provided the Black Debit card to its customers and only on the condition that they meet certain financial criteria that 99.999% of the world’s population would never reach.A customer has to have at least ten billion dollars in cash before they can open an account with them and once opened, the Black Debit card is provided. The name of the bank was Sentry Bank, and there were fewer than seventy people in the entire world who had an account with them—Jeremiah being one of them.“I had always planned to have you abandon your current bank account and opt for the new one Kingston was going to create for you

"With Miss Lynette's knowledge of the past and her claim of having taught you not just a simple magic spell but the most complex and powerful one in the world, she will be of greater help to your growth in magic than I ever could."Jeremiah thought about what the shaman said and grimaced.“You’s right, she might— no, she will be of greater help to my magic training than you can.” Jeremiah said, making Obadiah to smile prematurely. “But, she also said that it will take a while for her powers to come back after she’d resurrected for the first time in a l

Hearing what Lynette had just said, Reginald, Kingston, and Obadiah—who remained silent—were all relieved yet shocked that their hypothesis was correct. Granted, Jeremiah had been the one to come up with the hypothesis, but they had all believed in it.Now, this revelation brought about even more questions they struggled to articulate, especially since Lynette was no longer the maid they once held authority over.As a being very similar to what Jeremiah was, Lynette—who had existed for centuries—didn’t have to answer to anyone if she chose not to, and her behavior so far, speaking to the king and Kingston like regular people, made that abundantly clear.“Even I was confused when she woke from her rest and claimed she used to be close friends with Lord Crimson before his reincarnation. At first, I wondered how that could be possible, given that Lord Crimson’s reincarnation took place centuries ago.
