82. Lured

Dr Bertha stepped forward, ready to throw a punch at me, but I immediately caught and twisted his arm, along with his other hand.

"Let go! You can't do this to me, Danzel! You've gone too far!! I will kill that woman before I reunite with my wife and daughter! That's the only thing that keeps me at peace; let go!!"

Hearing the man's words, Margaret became even more convinced that she hadn't misheard earlier. Her eyebrows furrowed, feeling like she had heard that name somewhere before, but her ageing mind didn't quite connect the dots.

"What's going on?!" Anne, who had just entered, asked, seeing me restraining Dr Bertha, who was still struggling to break free.

"Doctor! What did you call him just now? He's Rupert. Have you taken your medication?" Anne's quick reaction made me realise that Dr Bertha had been calling me by my old name all this time. Fortunately, Anne came to save the situation.
