81. Slipping Tounge

"Pops," Anne greeted her grandfather, who was sitting alone in the stable, looking at his horses. At times like this, she wondered where the sudden burst of energy in her grandfather's steps came from.

The old man remained silent, avoiding Anne's gaze. Anne's heart sank, seeing her grandfather's reaction.

"Pops, if you're uncomfortable, should I send that old woman away right now?" Anne asked while hugging her grandfather from the side. "I don't want to see Pop sad," she pleaded again.

Mr. Rocky didn't immediately respond to Anne; he took a deep breath, carefully weighing his words. If you were to say he was angry, that was a certainty, but he also understood that Danzel had likely made a decision thoughtfully. He wanted to respect that, but it didn't mean he couldn't respond. He wouldn't openly oppose it, but he wouldn't openly support it either.

"Pops..." Anne pleaded with a sad face, causing Mr Rocky's defences to crumble.

"I'm fine. But please keep that woman away from my radius,
