Aldrin went through the new information and a smile appeared on his face, the screen before him had partitioned with one part displaying the visual range of the Salamander exactly the way it was seeing it, it was a little weird seeing things from its perspective but it was superb and akin to having a pair of remote thermal sensors but the most interesting part was the fire immunity he had received, this means he can go on rampage without any care.
“Attack.” Aldrin gave order and the salamander instantly opened its maws releasing a stream of fire while Aldrin fetched several explosives which he tossed wildly
“Commander the orcs are suddenly retreating.” Kane’s voice suddenly came in through the communication device
“I’ve destroyed their teleportation circuit, you guys can retreat.” Aldrin replied
“Aye sir… wait what???” Kane suddenly exclaimed
“You’re currently in the fortress?” He added in shock, the commander was supposed to be in the tent monitoring and maintaining the team but theirs was currently in the enemy base and had caused quite a commotion at that, if he was a master of grandmaster ranked entity then perhaps he wouldn’t have panicked but alas he wasn’t.
“Yes, you guys should be exhausted retreat to base and take a rest, I’ll be with you shortly.” Aldrin replied as he massacred his way out of the teleportation room that was now beginning to totter.
“Everyone commander is in the fortress, attack with all you’ve got, destroy the orcs.” Kane’s voice came from the other side giving order to his men which was followed by a battle cry.
“Now even my men won’t listen to me.” Aldrin said with a sigh not knowing if he should be happy or mad, and thus just pushed it to the back of his mind as he began moving through the fortress with familiarity, from the scan earlier he had mentally noted a particular location which was currently his target, on his shoulder was a portable cannon that launched explosives, using this he cleared his way and moved swiftly having escaped the encirclement he unsummoned salamander to conserve his spirituality soon he reached a temple like building, pushing against its oaken doors he marched into it with his cannon but strangely there was one within it, closing the door behind him he let out a sigh.
Several notifications kept moving upward in a corner of his vision as he slayed his way here all of which contained similar information
[Level x orc warrior killed, received a spirit fragments]

Once in a while a notification in this format would appear

Looking at his stats Aldrin was quite surprised, his physical abilities alone was now superior to an Amateur ranked zen warrior who could only have a maximum of 150 in any of their stats, he sighed and shook his head, who would believe him if he ever told them he took less than an hour to go from being an ordinary person to being stronger than an Amateur zen warrior, all that was lacking was zen techniques but he had spirit techniques to fill in that void even though that was also lacking quite a bit.
He had also reached the maximum level and needed to advance he pondered for a moment, the advancement quest was almost akin to rituals done by supreme masters wanting to advance to the demigod rank, well except that it was several folds easier.
“Well I’ll deal with that later” He concluded after taking another glance at his stats he looked up and right there on the alter was the main reason he chose to raid this fortress, A swirling rift which tore through the fabric of space, pulsating with erratic energy causing the surroundings to warp and distort, with blurry lines and angles, while a soft, blue-white glow casts an otherworldly radiance throughout the temple. Behind that spatial channel was a demiplane.
A demiplane is a self-contained, extra-dimensional realm that exists beyond their world, operating under its own unique physical and magical laws. This isolated domain is most usually a fragment of a larger plane or a plane that was unable or has yet to complete its formation. Demiplanes are often hidden and scattered in the vast expanse requiring a portal such as this on to access, they contain several rare resources and material and often serve as laboratories and mines, hidden sanctums, or planar hubs and while a demiplane comes with several lucrative opportunities they often hosting powerful entities sealed or trapped within or even a complete civilization depending on the type of demiplane it is often hold ancient artefacts, and untold secrets.
Initially the spatial channel would be explored by the grandmaster who aided him from the Ancient Gryphon Clan but right now Aldrin was on an all-time high and felt like exploring it himself but before then he wanted to know exactly everything he had on his arsenal to see if he would perhaps be able to do it, aside absorbing spirit fragments occasionally when he killed an enemy there would be a notification of him acquiring a soul armament perhaps now was the time to check it out.

From a glance it was obvious these soul armaments were weapons which left him feeling incredulous as he wondered how did they come to be, he randomly selected Warrior’s choice, a grade 3 long sword and a steel sword shimmered into existence before him with its hilt within his palm, it was a simple unadorned weapon but the moment it appeared in his hand the system appraised it and gave him full information about the weapon.
[Grade 3 Long Sword; Warrior’s choice:
+20 strength, +20 agility, +20 staminaComment: A fine sword, every warrior’s choice]
With the sword in his hand his physical stats suddenly jumped past the 200 threshold, it had no special effect but its enhancement was something, with a thought he unsummoned it and it vanished, now willing to experiment he summoned the ‘Brute Sword’ and a giant sword over one meter in height, with its blade length being exactly one meter and a width of over 6cm, Its broad, flat blade features a subtle curve and a sharp, angled tip, while a distinctive flame-shaped fuller runs along its length. A heavy, curved steel guard protects the hilt, wrapped in black leather and silver wire for a secure grip. A weighty, rounded pommel adorns the rear, bearing an intricate engraved motif.
[Grade 3 Great Sword; Brute Sword:
+40 strength,
Attached Skill:
Iron Will: Grants temporary resistance to stun and knockback (3/minute)
Comment: A weapon of great strength and barbarity]
Gripping the hilt of the sword, it took a little effort to lift and swing it as he was not trained with a giant sword Aldrin had quite some issues with it especially when considering that it lacked dexterity which was something he personally favoured a lot, but when facing off against enemies with brute strength then it was a weapon of choice, with a thought he unsummoned it as well.
Glancing through the list he could more or less guess what was what from the names of the armaments but the one that caught his eye the most was the Crimson Armour set.
With a single thought he summoned all parts of the set, which equipped automatically to his body.

Chapter 12: The Forgotten BattlefieldEven before he read the description the moment he equipped the armour he could feel power welling up within him as well as a dense desire to slaughter, equipping the full set raised its grade by one which further enhanced it, the attached abilities for every equipment was even more fantastic, some of them were passive while others were active but all combined gave birth to a great killing machine, his stats were now reaching the three hundred threshold putting him on par with average Zen warriors and he knew deep down that he could fully tussle with even the stronger ones, he took notes of the new stats bonuses that the armour gave but weren’t reflected directly on his profile such as movement speed, attack speed, critical hit chance, damages and resistances. From a simple thought he deduced that movement and attack speed were reliant on his agility, damage was most likely related to hi
Chapter 13: EvolutionAldrin took in a deep breath and a wide smile formed behind his helmet, slowly he began to descend the hill and into the valley, these soulwings would probably be the greatest harvest of this expedition, this much was sufficient to help promote quite a number of grandmaster to supreme master but he wasn’t about to let anyone get his hoard. If it were anyone else who wasn’t a grandmaster then they would have no use for the soulwings except to just stare at them because if anyone lower than a grandmaster were to attempt absorbing one, the excessive energy contained within would instantly blow up their souls, perhaps a master could attempt to absorb one under careful supervision and help of a grandmaster but they couldn’t take beyond one and yet within the valley was about a hundred of them but Aldrin on the other hand had a spirituality at the same level as that of a grandmaster, absorbing th

Chapter 1: Council Meeting…In the beginning there was only you,So you decided to go on to the end,Till there was nothing left of you.In the beginning I was alone,So I went on to the end, Till there was only I left,Who am I? Who are you, We are Zen,The beginning,And the end.…In a hall about fifty meters in length and breadth were two youngsters moving about rapidly, one of them had lightning flickering around his form with each tensing of his muscles lightning cackled and each fist he threw was accompanied by electricity but the other person looked quite ordinary and very unimposing and despite the difference in appearance none of the former’s attack was able to land as the ordinary looking young man seemed to effortlessly evade and parry each attack. After several exchanges both came to a halt with the empowered young man barely out of breath while the ordinary one was dripping with sweat and totally out of breath, he had his hand on his knees with his dark hair matted a
Chapter 2: AssassinationEverybody has a zen core within themselves, it supplies energy for the body to run and keep function, its importance is no less than that of the heart and its location was just beneath the navel which was the centre of the body.Like arteries and veins run from the heart to every part of the body, energy pathways sometimes known as zen pathways run from the core to every part of the body, the pathways passes through organs, muscles and tissues, through veins and arteries constantly supplying the zen that one either absorbs from the surroundings or that one digests from meals.Just like a man cannot survive without his heart one can’t survive without their zen core as its destruction would lead to inevitable death, there are weak cores and strong core but there has never been a recorded case of someone born without a core, Aldrin is the first case or perhaps the first recorded case.Aldrin took in a deep breath and closed the book he was reading, he looked out
Chapter 3: AwakeningAldrin coughed severally, normally his robes were enhanced with a circuit array allowing him to tank a considerable amount of impact without taking damage, but having fought for about five minutes the protection was already wearing out and with a sword piercing through the robes many of the circuits were damaged reducing the protection the robes offered by a large amount allowing the fire dragon deal more than seventy percent it’s total damage.“How?” Aldrin managed to growl as he wiped out the blood dripping from the corner of his lips while trying to stand up, although Fabien wasn’t the best fighter there was it wasn’t to the point of making such blunder, the panicking expressions that was on Fabien’s face throughout the fight was suddenly nowhere to be found instead was a ridiculing and disdainful sneer, an expression which he wouldn’t find surprising if only he saw it on anyone else that wasn’t his brother.“They say geniuses are often so stupid and I must say
Chapter 4: Quest of AcknowledgementAldrin’s eyes opened slowly and light flooded into them causing him to close them rapidly with a light wince.“The young master has awakened, relay this to the lord.” A female voice suddenly called out and a figure dashed out of the room closing the door behind as she left, Aldrin slowly sat up and surveyed the room he was in and quickly recognized it to be his room. Not far from the bed was a table that was tidy and yet messy at the same time as a plethora of reading and writing materials were displayed across, aside from that table there wasn’t anything noteworthy of in the room, everything else was exquisite and yet simple.“How is your health sir?” A small lady approached Aldrin and tried taking his hand to feel his pulse but suddenly Aldrin stretched his hand and gripped her throat tightly threatening to strangle her.The lady trashed wildly while sobbing and begging for mercy but no matter what she did Aldrin didn’t release his grip on her nec
Chapter 5: The SystemAldrin read through as he listened to the voice read into his head, basically it was just a summary of what he had read in the scroll his father gave him.“What are you exactly?” Aldrin asked feeling quite stupid as he didn’t know if there was someone controlling what he saw and heard or if they would even reply him.[I am the spirit system bound to you.] The voice replied him as the string of words before his eyes changed“Are you an ally?” he pressed further trying to glean as much information as he could and the most important of which he needed to know was to confirm if it was a symbiote or a parasite.[It is the job of the system to ensure its host grows stronger and more powerful so the system could be considered an ally to its host.] The mechanical voice replied in its monotone.Aldrin thought for a few moments, he didn’t know much yet but for some reason he felt that the so called system was akin to an artefact or a tool whose sole purpose was to empower
