Mason was still in awe of the night, while Mark was busy eating it all up, and as they finally left Rogue's for the night, he would not stop talking about it in the most hilarious way possible and Mason just shook his head at his exuberant best friend in amusement, the evening had been helpful but he was also nervous about Jonathan Elric, oh well, he thought, the evening had been successful regardless but it almost nine now, meaning that his wife's party was about to start and woe unto him if he failed to get there on time.
“Step on it Mark!” He shouted, for once encouraging his friend's total disrespect for law and order.
“You are encouraging me to break laws.” Mark laughed aloud at this. “damn, the wife must be something else.”

Scarlett was clutching at the sink and glaring at herself in the mirror, she blamed herself for everything, she should have known, plain and simple, people never changed and she thought she knew that and was already quite dogged in her emotions but what happened tonight proved that it was all a lie, perhaps deep down she was still a little girl yearning for approval and acceptance from the ones that wrecked her, perhaps when people looked at her that was all they saw, the desperation of a silly girl as she tried to play the game and advance in a world where she knew none of the rules.“Scarlett.” Michelle called as she pushed through the crowd, desperate to get to her sister. For once she was not all about scheming with Brietta and trying to manipulate any and everyone she could find, she pushed and pushed as everyone seemed to form a closely knitted bush.
Elicia and her son raced home like the devil was on their tails, in a way he was, the devil in this case was Scarlett's previously disgraced husband, none of it was supposed to happen like this, it was not supposed to be like this, this was never the plan. Unknowingly to both of them Mother and Son were thinking the same thing as the driver drove them away without asking questions. Jason glanced at his mother, Elicia always knew the worst moments to be brilliant, her plan admittedly was genius, but what Jason did not enjoy was being placed right in the middle of it, if he remained ignorant and she just went her ahead to try and save like every other mother would undoubtedly have done, then he wouldn't be in this mess that's for sure. He looked at his Mother again and sighed, perhaps karma was real, and she was actually as big a bitch as everyone said she was.Elicia on her part sneaked little
“Perhaps we should retire for the night.” Mason suggested as he hedged back slowly. He felt hurt that she doubted him, but he obviously could not fault her for it. He was the one that chose to lie, the one that decided to lock her out, something he just realized he might have done unconsciously. He tried to put himself in her shoes and realized he would have felt very betrayed indeed, it was not just a secret he kept from her as he had originally thought, it was a whole part of himself shrouded in secrecy and made unavailable to his wife, something he should have been accountable to at crucial times. This decision to lock her was not as necessary as he once thought it was, he made a cowardly choice, and he had to reap the result. He clenched his trembling hands in a fist.“I thought we were something special to each other Mason.” Scarlett whispered. “I mean not i
The news spread like wildfire and by the next morning it was the only thing people could talk about. The shocking story was pushed by every gossip column, entertainment news, and paparazzi from all around the state were going crazy. As usual everything that could be dug up about Mason Wilde was found, and some had come forth claiming to fellow workers in the past and extolling his virtues. Some even cried dramatically on screen saying that they never could have imagined the quiet man working alongside them could be the introverted billionaire, Ric watched all of this with a vein constantly bulging around the sides of head.“Pick up dammit.” He cursed as he paced the space of his living room, ever since that night at Rogue's he had known there was something wrong about Mason Wilde, although never never in his wildest fantasies could he have come up with the term “introverted
Scarlett woke up in the morning as cheerful as can be, she had forgotten everything that happened the previous night, after finally falling asleep in the Early hours of the morning, she woke up quite late and alone. Standing up drowsily, she tied her robe clumsily around her and padded down to the bathroom to wash up for the day. There was something niggling at the back of her mind that she chose to ignore. Scarlett looked at her reflection in the mirror as she splashed water on her face, and seeing her red puffy staring back at her, the events of last night hit her with the force of a freight train. Screwing her eyes shut, she processed everything that happened the previous night, and howharsh she was on Mason, and she fought the wave of regret that flooded through her.Moving to the sitting room, she noticed it was empty as well and heaved a si
Scarlett met Mark close to the edges of flowers that she had always thought were a menace but now shielded her from the reporters outside and she watched as they still cried for her to come down and she smirked feeling like some secret spy or something, served them right.“Hurry it up lady!’ Mark whispered scream at her and she almost yelled back that his obnoxious voice would be what would give them away if he was not careful but she didn't, and chose to roll her eyes instead as she settled into the seat beside him.The sound of the car finally drew the reporters attention from her window and one of them cried that she was escaping, and they raced after them, begging her to come back or at least pose for a picture, and she laughed happily when they turned the corner and finally lost them. Mark glanced at her with a smile
The media went crazy over Mason’s entrance, and Mason himself was shocked that he could behave so grandly, he was confident in his movements and his voice more assured than it usually was, it was like he put on a different skin, it felt sublime, it was wonderful indeed. He wondered if this was what actors usually feel when they donned on the skin of their characters and peel their own flesh away. Although it was alarming how easy it was to act, he wondered if it would ever become something of a habit, where he could wear different faces and step into different skins as often as he wished. Scarlett was thinking the same thing too, he thought. The way she came like a whirlwind and reminded him that he was anything but a loser, the way she single handedly came up with a closing speech for him that was as remarkable as his entrance. He knew though that she had not completely forgiven him, and he ached to wipe off the tension that still lingered betw
Ric paced up and down the length of their box at Rogue's as Brown looked on an expensive cigar on his lips, and he executed rapid short puffs from it, the feeling calmed him as he thought back on his humiliation, he thought back to Mason looking down at him from the tip of his nose and Brown's hand shook again in rage. That peasant, he thought. Wealth should not be given to just anybody and that Mason looked the most entitled as he climbed the stage like he lived his whole life on it. Brown needed to humiliate him, taking his power from would not be enough, he needed to humiliate him in different ways, and as usual his devious mind was already scheming. Scheming was what he did best after all, he was a master at it, and there was nobody he had met in his life that he could not beat. Nobody has cunning. Ric dropped his empty glass on the table with enough force to shatter it and made Brown flinch awake from his thoughts as he glared at the idiot. Ric w
