CHAPTER 143

Taron had been in a bad mood for days. He knew that he had not done anything wrong by defending his girlfriend in front of those men, but he felt terrible that he might have lost every possible alliance that he could have with them, and he wanted to be on the sides of as many people as possible, for the sake of his company, of course. But his pride would not let him attempt to contact those men ever again.

Not unless they attempted to contact him first.

Rebecca was tired of how horribly Taron was hiding his annoyance. Two days had already gone by, and once in a while, his nose would get scrunched up, and she would know exactly what exactly it was that was bugging him.

She was on her break anyway, and she picked up one of the magazines that came in and opened it without looking at the cover when she had the feeling that she had missed something that she should have seen.
