Rebecca was dressed in a long evening gown. She was meeting Eve for dinner. She had decided to text to ask what was going on, and Eve had responded almost immediately with a text indicating that they needed to talk, and Rebecca was to meet her at a popular dining spot, Taron did not trust this Eve, so he sent two bodyguards with Rebecca, just in case, even after Rebecca had assured him that it was completely unnecessary. Eve was sitting at a table with a similar gown, only that hers was violet, while Rebecca’s was lilac. “Girl.” Eve said, dragging the word as Rebecca sat down. “Do not girl me, I am mad at you.” Rebecca told her sternly, and Eve shook her head. “I’m so sorry, I actually wanted to reach out, but I could not, so I thought of doing it later.” Eve said. “Do you know how terrible it was? I kept on making up scenarios in my head, wondering what had happened to you, I was thinking that maybe you found me boring and didn’t want to talk to me at first, or maybe f
She huffed as she got down from her car. The one time this month she decided to drive alone in the night air and maybe have some clarity and peace of mind, that was when her car chose to suddenly stop working. Selena kicked the tyre. "But Jugo said that you were working properly! Why are you acting up?" She went to the bonnet and opened it, coming face to face with some very strange looking objects. "I don't even know how this is supposed to work." She sighed and got back into the car before calling her driver for help. Great. She thought, putting her phone down. It was just her fortune that her driver was unreachable too. Where did he go? She called Sarah as a last option, and Sarah picked up immediately. "Hey, what's up?" Sarah asked. "I'm stranded, and my car isn't working anymore, please come here and pick me up." Selena said. "At this time? Why did you go out alone, and at night too?" Sarah asked and sighed. "Just send me your location and I'll be on my way to
Taron was on the phone when Rebecca went in to meet him. He signaled, asking if all was good, and Rebecca nodded. Eventually, he got off the phone and Rebecca spoke. "There's someone here to see you, says her name is Rebecca Torres." Rebecca said and Taron's eyes lit in recognition, and Rebecca's nostrils flared for a second. "Should I tell her to come in?" Rebecca asked. "Yes, let her in, she was the one who was working on—" Rebecca cut in. "The Javier case, I'm well aware." Taron was amused by Rebecca's attitude. Not that he was surprised, she was possessive and short temper, and if he was not careful, she could make him cry in a matter of minutes. Rebecca got back to her seat. "He said that you should go in, knock once before you go inside." Rebecca said and Rebecca Torres nodded. "Yes, thank you, I know office manners." Rebecca Torres said in a calm voice, and it was that very calmness that irritated Rebecca, making her feel stupid for acting out. "I wasn't i
“And she actually spoke to you like that?” Eve asked, her eyes protruding in what seemed to be shock. Or disbelief, whichever. “What did you expect me to do? Slap her?” “Yes! She can’t come into your office and speak to you disrespectfully.” “At least let me tell you what happened afterwards.” Rebecca slapped Eve’s knees. “If it’s anything like what you just told me, then I don’t want to know.” Eve was frowning. Rebecca was at Eve’s place, as they were trying to catch up with each other. They had become extremely close and they saw each other for meetups like this regularly. “No, not really, will you let me tell you or not? Because I’d be happy to leave the story halfway done and go for ice cream instead.” “No, tell me,” Eve whined. “But is there a trigger warning?” “Not any that I know of, but see, do you know that when she went in there, she actually tried to flirt with Taron?” “No way! The nerve of that bitch.” “Well, yes, and Taron had told her tha
Taron called Rebecca's phone and Eve picked it up almost immediately. "Hello?" "I'm stuck in traffic, any news yet?" Tarim asked and Eve looked around. "No, I've not heard from the doctor yet." "Alright, I'll try my best to be there quickly, please call me if she wakes up or anything." Taron said and Eve mumbled a yes before Taron cut the call. What if Rebecca was pregnant? Eve thought. In a lot of the movies that she had watched, the pregnant women had fainted, and so maybe the contraception had failed, and Rebecca was just going to be a mummy, that was it. What were the possibilities of it being worse than that? The doctor came outside and Eve stood up immediately. His face was unsmiling, and Eve wondered if that was his resting face, or if he had something terrible to say. “What’s the situation, doctor?” Eve asked. “Oh, you must be the friend who brought her in, it’s nothing much, the patient just happens to be anaemic, and needs a better diet with a lot of r
Sarah was trying to get over all the things that had been plaguing her mind for the past few weeks. It was not working, but she had to push positivity, pushing p, or whatever it was that one artist said. She had pushed the “incident” behind her, and did not want to think, or even speak about it. And as for the man she met that day— the one who had saved her, she hoped that they never had to see each other again too. She had forgotten his name too, so she was making good progress with it. There were a lot of people in this place, and she had never seen him before, right? The chances of her seeing him again must not have been very high. There was commotion way in at the front, but as the men seemed to just be yelling, and not throwing any physical punches yet, she decided to make her way into the shop before anything else started to happen. With just her fortune, she could easily get a punch landed on her face for no reason. “Hold up, Sarah?” A voice called out and Sarah tried t
“I don’t think you understand what is going on here.” Selena said, obviously struggling to keep her voice down. “Selena, please—” Javier said, and Selena turned back to glare at him so hard that he thought her eyes would fall out. “Don’t Selena please me! What is wrong with you?” Selena asked him. “What is wrong with me? I just made a suggestion. What are you so mad about?” Javier asked, and Selena started to laugh sarcastically. Javier had made the most ridiculous suggestion ever, and Selena could not believe that he was even entertaining the idea. He had walked up to her in the morning, and told her that he wanted to be with her. Then he went ahead to suggest that that they leave all the money for Taron and go ahead to live together, but peacefully. “We should just leave all these issues, and start afresh! Come back to Europe with me, Selena.” Javier said. “Even if you were thinking about it, I can’t believe that you have the audacity to say it to me,” Selena sai
Taron sat across the Niels, who owned some of the biggest companies in Europe, and had substantial shares in Hong Kong. They looked like a good mix between the Chinese and the English, and they seemed like they were waiting for him to speak first, for some reason. “There was a lot of traffic on the way here, have you ordered anything yet?” Taron said, although he was on time, but he wanted to make the talk light. Mr Neil smiled at him. “No, actually, we had some trouble getting here too, you came in just about two minutes after us.” “Yes, and besides, it would be very unbecoming of us if we ordered some food when you were not here yet.” Mrs Neil shot her husband a glare, and Taron understood that he wanted to order something beforehand, but his wife had stopped him. “I was hungry, you cannot blame me for being hungry.” Mr Neil tried to defend himself. “You had food just before you left home!” Mrs Neil said, taking her hand fan and whacking him on the head. Taron loved t
