Taron was in a meeting with one of the heads of his Chinese partner companies when his phone vibrated. Wu Zhihao chuckled. "You should check that, it could be your lady." The man said, raising his brows and smiling suggestively. Taron looked at the man. He was one of the most cheerful people he had met. While wealthy people were mostly brooding to keep their face true to the facial stereotypes of people with a lot of money in their accounts, this man shook hands with everyone and laughed heartily whenever he heard something funny. Taron looked at Wu. "I don't have a partner, don’t plan to have anyone anytime soon either.” Regardless, Taron excused himself and took out his phone. It was an email from the KingPins, inviting him to a meeting, stating that it was very important for him to be present since it was going to be his first meeting. If Jonas was right, then he had to ignore the invitation or it would be his first and last meeting. Greedy rich people always loved setting
James Garrick was nervous and it was obvious. He was aware of that, so he resented himself for wearing his emotions on his sleeve. He had come with a proposal for Taron, and if he did not look like he believed in what he wanted to say, how would he get Taron to believe in it? He fished out a white handkerchief and wiped the sweat from his forehead. Taron sat, looking uninterested and disconnected from his surroundings. James Garrick had called without setting up an appointment, but luckily, Taron happened to be free enough to hold a short conversation with him. “Give me two minutes.” Taron said, typing away at his screen. James used that time to go over the words in his head. Taron was smart and would be able to fish out what he didn’t like very easily. “So,” Taron said, putting the papers in his hand down before looking at James Garrick. “how can I help you today?” “I’m here to ask for an increase.” James Garrick went straight to the point. “An increase, huh?” Taron did not
Taron looked down at the big delicious bowl of sugar sweet goodness in front of him. For the first time since he started the entire billionaire thing, he was free. He had been able to clear all his schedules the day before and so, Taron decided to put every phone call he had away till the next day. He grinned down at his ice cream. Taron had earlier believed that being so wealthy would change him from the typical Taron to a different man. But Taron found out that he still loved his ice cream, and still could not tolerate black coffee. A little less cream and milk in a bid to protect the “culture”, that is. “Thank you.” Taron said to the guard who brought him his treat. The guard gave a small now and went to stand at his post. Taron’s phone beeped and he remembered the urgent reminders that he had set. He had three very important phone calls to make. Touching the scooped out balls of ice cream with the spoon, Taron figured that he could leave his treat for a short while. - “A bu
Selena could barely contain her heart with how fast it was beating. She had just decided to board the first flight to Florida. She had been thinking about her father for way too long, and the superstitious part of her felt like she had reason to believe that her father was in grave danger, or perhaps, about to die. Selena blamed that side on her late mother. Although she did not believe in such tales, she was driven to the edge and had to go and see him. She had to know, know if the way he had treated her all those years were genuinely out of hatred for her on his part, or if he truly loved her and that was the only way he knew how to enforce discipline. But what would she tell him? Ethan Goldbridge had always been a driven man, and he was not moved by almost anything. She did not go to see him when she was at her peak, so why did she have to start feeling this way when she started to hit rock bottom? She alighted from the plane with the other passengers and ordered a ride home. She
“Miss Goldbridge, how may I help you today?” The woman in front of Selena asked with a smile that looked like it had been perfected in front of a mirror asked. “Yes, are you Alyssa?” Selena asked. After the incident with her father, Selena had decided to respect herself and keep herself away from all that. She would live with or without him anyway, but now that he was out of the way, she had bigger fish to catch. Her ex boyfriend, Taron McCarthy. Obviously, she could not seduce her way into Taron’s life, so she had to act smarter. And Sarah had asked her to look for something that Taron lacked, with the exception of a partner and exploit that area to her full advantage. “Yes, I am Alyssa, please sit down.” Alyssa said and Selena took a seat. “I want you to keep an eye on someone for me, using three agents.” Selena said, bringing out a file from her purse. “Okay, ma’am, as long as your signature is here,” Alyssa pointed to the paper that she placed in front of Selena. “and a
Taron knew he could not be spending a lot of time at home anymore, not with the way his mother was acting like she owned the place. He felt like he should stand on his words and not allow her to do whatever she liked. There was old people’s music coming from somewhere, and from his study, he could tell that either his mom was having a one woman enjoyment thing, or she had somehow made friends with other women around and she was having a party. Taron decided to go out to see for himself, and he was right. The woman was deciding to have a party without his consent. “What is going on?” Taron asked and two other women gasped. “Oh wow, you didn’t lie, this handsome boy is truly your son.” A woman who looked Indian said. “Obviously, why would I say he was mg son if he was not actually my son?” His mom said, rolling her eyes and waving them off. Taron turned to face his mom. “Once again, what is going on here?” Eloise grinned. “Well, I’m having a party, and you are invited to come s
“I’m not here for chit chat,” The man in front of Taron said, letting himself have a seat. “I’m here to know why a puny child did not honour the invitation to our meeting.” Taron cocked an eyebrow at the stranger. “Who do you think you are?” “Anthony, Anthony Vincenzo Romano, a great business man.” “Why have I not heard of you before, then?” Taron asked, deciding to continue what he was doing. “And how did you know where to find me?” “I’m in the King Pins, and you’re going to give me a reason for being away from our meeting.” Anthony said, causing Taron to sigh. “You still haven’t answered me, Anthony, how did you know that I was going to be here?” Taron asked. “I have my ways.” The older man grinned wickedly, and Taron made a mental note to purchase a new house and move into it. He could not continue to live in the old one if people were finding out about it so easily. “Alright then, keep your secrets.” Taron sighed. “Why were you present at the King Pins meeting?” An
"Any updates?" Selena sat across the three private investigators that she was given. She had quickly sold her house off, leaving Steve completely homeless, and she had gone and rented out an apartment for herself. That was where she was with the investigators. The three of them shared a loom before looking at Selena, and then the one in the middle, who happened to be the only woman in the trio, presented a file. "We honestly tried our best, but he's tightly packed." She said. "With security, that is what she means." One of her partners said. "So, what you're saying is that you were unable to get anything?" Selena hit her fists on the wooden table in front of her. "I'm going to request for a refund, because why is it so hard for private investigators to do their jobs?" "No, no, no." All three of the investigators got up at once in a bid to calm her down. "What is it?" Selena sat back down, glaring at them. Things had already been going rough enough for her and she didn't ne
