Taron’s eyes darted back and forth from his mother and wondered if she was seriously doing this. A total waste of his time, and what was more? She was having everyone join in on it. Her dog had died, not that that was surprising as Eloise was terrible when it came to taking care of any living thing that was not herself. Taron had expected the whole thing. In fact, it lived longer than he had expected. What the issue was was that his mother was eating chocolates and she had given the dog some to feast on. How irresponsible was that? He sighed, as he struggled to focus on work while thinking about other things. Other things being, his mother, first of all, and Rebecca. Obviously, since the Selena incident, they had not been able to get to the level of friendliness that they were at before, but Taron had accepted it as what it was. He knew that he told her that it was okay, which it was, but it seemed like his head was finding it difficult to adjust to what he had said. Taron called her back and put the phone to his ear. “What is wrong with you? Why do you keep on calling me like I stole your child?” “You are a very useless man, Taron, and I feel bad for whoever it is that is related to you.” Selena started and Taron cut the call. He had no interest in listening to whatever it was she was going to say. Selena called back and he picked it. “How dare you cut the call on me?” “Well, Selena, if I was going to receive insults from you, I’d rather not have it read on my account, so yes, you can speak while you call,” Taron said nonchalantly. “I’m trying to sleep, you have two minutes.”
