Vere arrived at the office that same day. James kept talking, but Veres wasn't paying attention because he remembered what he witnessed with Mira.
"Mr. Vere, are you alright?" James asked him. Veres seemed lost in thought. "Yes, sure, uhm. Sorry for that," he replied to James with a smile and a nod. "I'm sorry; I got distracted by my thoughts."
"Oops, yeah, you do," James said with a smile when he responded. "Why don't you rest, Mr. Vere? Maybe you are tired.”
"No worries, Mr. Vere. And I know that you have been through a lot lately, and it's like a non-stop nightmare."
Vere sighed and said, "You're probably right, James. I can't believe that after all this time, there are still so many challenges that keep on striking me. I thought I had reached the level where I am now, but it seems my success is twinned with a nightmare. I don't know where all of this is going to end, and I can leave peacefully."
Vere and James were in the middle of their discussion. Suddenly a sound from Vere's phone interrupts, and he notices it is Mira calling. He quickly picked up his mobile phone and answered Mira's voice on the other end.
Mira began "My love, I am going out for some shopping this afternoon."
"Of course, my darling, go ahead," Vere replied, with his voice showing love for Mira and evident in his words. "I love you, and take care." "I love you too, my love," Mira responded sweetly before ending the call.
Vere turned back to James, apologizing for the interruption. "I'm sorry about that, James. Please continue."
James suggested. "Mr. Vere, how about we take a break too, and enjoy some coffee?" Vere agreed, saying, "Oh, yes, that sounds great. I know you love coffee, and there's a new coffee shop in town, right in front of The Fuentez Building. The aroma of their coffee is absolutely delightful." As they strolled towards the parking area, James and Vere resumed their conversation.
After a fifteen-minute drive, Vere and James arrived at the new coffee shop. When Vere opened the door, the enticing aroma of coffee filled the air. Vere chose a seat by the window, which was their favorite spot with Mira.
From that spot, they had a clear view of the towering Fuentez Company building on the corner. As Vere sipped his coffee, he gazed outside for a moment, and he couldn't help but notice Mira's car pulling up in front of the building.
James also observed Mira's presence at the company building. "Mr. Vere, how often does Mrs. Mira visit their building?" James inquired.
"I don't know, James," Vere replied with a puzzled expression. "All I'm aware of is that when I leave for the office, she's usually at home, sometimes out shopping with her best friend, and ahm, maybe she misses their company that's why, and I get surprised too ."
Shortly after their conversation, an elegant car pulled up, and a woman stepped out. Ten minutes later, Mira exited the building, accompanied by the mysterious woman. They exchanged a few words, and Mira handed the woman a substantial envelope. Afterward, they both got into their respective cars and drove away. James leaned in, his curiosity evident.
"Do you have any idea who Mrs. Mira was talking to? Is it not an employee?" Vere shook his head, his brow furrowed "No, I don't. This is the first time I've ever seen that woman, maybe it's just a new friend that she knows lately"
At that moment, Vere was left bewildered, his mind racing with questions. Had Mira stumbled upon the folder he had left behind? Was that the reason for her visit to the company? And why had she claimed she was merely going shopping? The uncertainty filled Vere's thoughts as he pondered the mysterious encounter and what his eyes had witnessed.
Vere decided to head back home at that very moment because his wife had been doing some unusual things, which were distracting him. When he got to their mansion, he saw that Mira still wasn't home. As he needed some much-needed rest, Vere ascended the stairs to his room around and it was one o'clock in the afternoon. He dozed off, and without knowing it was already five o'clock in the afternoon. And Mira had not yet arrived. Now he starts to have his thoughts on keeping an eye on his wife Mira. Before any problem that could possibly start. And how to avoid if there is something going on.
After a little interval, Mira knocked on the door and came inside. She greeted him and inquired, "Hello, my love, have you been here all this time?" She knew Vere was frequently busy. Vere observes her odd inquiries, but he simply records them in his head. "Yes," Vere replied with a smile. " Show me what you bought?" he inquired, addressing his wife.
Before Mira began she took a brief pause and Vere couldn't shake the feeling of curiosity while he was looking at his wife. Then Mira explained, "Actually, my love, I didn't have the opportunity to go shopping. I bumped into Ivie by chance, and we decided to explore the city together instead. We had a meal and watched a movie." Vere listened to her explanation, a blend of relief and curiosity crossing his face as he tried to make sense of her unexpected change of plans.
At that moment, Vere's suspicions grew stronger. "Ah, okay my love, so how was it?" he asked, feigning ignorance and hiding any signs of concern. "Well, Ivie and I enjoyed the movie, it was great; and it was quite good," Mira replied, trying to sound cheerful.
In the midst of their conversation, suddenly interrupted by a call on Mira's cell phone and that's interrupting their discussion. Mira quickly excused herself and left the room to answer the call. As the door closed behind her, Vere couldn't help but feel a rising mix of anger and doubt. He struggled to make sense of the bewildering changes he had observed in the strange behavior of his wife. Alone in the room, Vere was left to grapple with his racing thoughts.
The unsettling feeling that something wasn't right lingered heavily in his mind. Mira's spontaneous outing with her friend, her elusive responses, and the shift in her demeanor all raised questions that he couldn't push aside. Vere's heart weighed heavily with suspicion and uncertainty about what might be unfolding in his wife's life. He was acutely aware that he needed to uncover the truth and address the mounting doubts that were taking hold of his thoughts.
At that moment, Vere found himself in deep thought, realizing that he needed to find a way to uncover the truth behind his wife's mysterious behavior. He wondered what lay behind her suspicious actions. Determined to get to the bottom of the mystery, or maybe need to be investigated.
Or maybe checking their shared phone plan's call history, looking for unusual or frequent numbers Mira had contacted recently, and also noticed she had been receiving late-night messages. And maybe Over the next few days he should observed Mira's habits and secretive phone conversations, gathering evidence that convinced him or might he needed to confront her about the growing mystery.
All of these ideas in his thoughts play which one to take to solve this problem.. And which options will take place first?
A week had passed, and Vere couldn't help but notice that Mira continued to leave the mansion frequently, all the while Vere pretended not to notice his wife's suspicions. On that particular day, while Vere was at the office, he pondered what steps he should take to uncover the mystery surrounding his wife, Mira. And now he had an idea in mind. Vere approached James and asked him to book a hotel reservation for him. "James, could you please book a hotel for me for tomorrow?" Vere instructed. "Yes, sir," James replied with a smile, but then he playfully asked, "Are you planning to have a baby with Mrs. Mira soon, Mr. Vere?" James grinned mischievously.Vere chuckled and replied, "No, James, it's just me. I want some time alone." "Huh? Just by yourself, sir?" James asked with a confused expression. "This is unusual; it's my first time to hear this. You want to be alone. Is there a problem, Mr. Vere?" he inquired. "I'll tell you later, James," Vere replied. "Let's not discuss that for
That same day…….A short while later, a car pulled up beside Vere's car. He glanced over, raised his head, and noticed that it was Mira's car. "Oh wow, what luck! I couldn't believe with my two eyes you arrived now and beside my car, huh?" Vere conversed with himself. When Mira hopped out of her car Vere pretended to be engrossed in something on the dashboard, seemingly taking a nap.Vere continued to watch Mira from the reflection in the restaurant's glass wall as she walked towards the entrance. He saw Mira take her seat at a table beside the glass wall. Vere couldn't take his eyes off Mira, but no one joined her; it was clear to him that she was dining alone. At that moment, Vere said to himself, "Hey, Vere, I think your suspicions might be off the mark. It seems Mira isn't hiding anything after all," he mused. After Mira finished her meal, she didn't leave immediately. After a while, a car pulled up, and Vere noticed that the car was familiar. He had seen it before when he and Ja
That day was a confrontation day with Mira.Mira's warm smile quickly faded as she noticed Vere's unusual coldness. She had expected a warm embrace and a joyful greeting from her husband after being apart for several days. Instead, Vere seemed distant and unresponsive. "Vere my love, what are you doing here? You surprised me, and you didn't tell me that you had arrived," Mira questioned, her eyes searching for an explanation in his stern expression. Vere avoided her gaze and simply motioned towards the nearby chairs. "Please sit down, Mira. We have a lot of things to discuss and questions that need answers."Mira hesitated but took a seat, her mind racing with confusion and concern. "And why should I tell you that I am here? Vere begun. Can you tell me where you have been all these days and you always say that you will meet your friend Ivie? That's not what I found out. You always seem so busy," he retorted, his voice tinged with frustration. And suddenly, Vere let out a sigh and fi
As Vere approached the police officer who was in possession of the accident report, he experienced a mix of apprehension and emotions. "Mr. Police officer, I'm the husband of the victim," he replied. "Are you serious?" the policeman retorted, appearing astonished. "Yes, sir," Vere answered. The policeman asked, "Which car?" "The yellow one," Vere said. "It belongs to Jefferson Cole, the owner of the yellow car." That time the police officer was waiting for Veres' reply. “Oops, ahm, sorry, it's not. I thought it was my wife's car, as it seems the same.” Vere said. “Oh, I'm with you,” the police officer replied."Thank you,” Mr. Police Officer Vere said. “It's ok,” the police officer answered.Vere stepped up to the car, which had suffered considerable front-end damage in the collision, to alleviate his mind. When he noticed that Mira's license plate number was different and that the two cars were not the same, his heart began to lift.He pushed his pal James, who was also examining th
It was a nightmarish situation for Vere, as he became the prime suspect in the investigation into his wife Mira's death. And now his confidant and trusted friend, James, was nowhere to be found, as he was only the hope for Vere, leaving him isolated and desperate. To make matters worse, Vere was unable to bid a final farewell to Mira, as Mr. and Mrs. Fuentez denied him that closure. All his efforts, all he had done for Mira and their envisioned family, had crumbled due to unforeseen issues in their marriage. It was a deeply distressing ordeal for Vere.It was the seventh day in the cell for Vere, who was informed by the police that he had a visitor. He was taken to a visitation room, where he saw Mr. and Mrs. Fuentez waiting for him. Vere greeted them out of respect as their son-in-law, but they ignored his greeting. "Mrs. Fuentez, how could you? After all that you've done for our daughter, we trusted you completely, but it turned into a mess," Mr. Fuentez lamented. "If you can re
As Vere stood in the dimly lit corridor of the prison, the echo of clanging doors still reverberating in his ears, he could not believe that this had become his reality. The outside world felt like a distant memory for him, and now he was thrust into this harsh and unforgiving environment.Vere observed the other inmates, each with their own stories and circumstances. As he found his place in this bleak setting, he couldn't help but wonder what had led him here. It was a story that he would come to share with a select few over time, a story that he couldn't forget.A fellow inmate approached Vere and introduced himself, looking at his face. "Hey, I'm Ted.""I'm Vere," he replied.Ted offered Vere some advice as they settled into their small, shared cell."I've been here for several years, and I know how the game goes inside this place, so you have to be vigilant," Ted said in a hushed tone. "Listen," he continued. "This place is rough, and you've got to watch your back. Keep your head
Days turned into weeks, and Vere had already adjusted to his life as an inmate. However, every day, he held onto the hope that a miracle would happen and that one day, James would surprise him, having overcome the coma from the accident. But he couldn't forget the events that had forever left a mark on his memory. One day, as Vere was taking a shower, he was unaware that danger was lurking nearby. Vere had thought that, after several days and weeks had passed, the conflicts would have subsided, but he was definitely mistaken, and that day would be his other day to be in trouble. Little did he know that some of his fellow inmates were still watching him closely, waiting for an opportunity to strike. After Vere had finished dressing and left the shower area, he was in for a shock. The same group that had been causing problems for him in the mess hall in the past few weeks had confronted him. Five imposing inmates surrounded him, their hostility palpable. Without warning, they seized h
On that fateful night, while Vere found himself in the dimly lit cell, he pondered whether he should accept the offer from Mr. and Mrs. Fuentez. It was the only remaining option for him to escape the confines of his prison, as there are no signs of James yet. After three long days of contemplation, Mr. and Mrs. Fuentez returned to visit Vere in his cell. Vere had been wrongfully accused of a crime he did not commit. Unforgettable nightmare that had shattered in his life, and he had spent countless nights behind those unforgiving bars, yearning for justice. The justice system had failed him, and he had lost faith in it. However, the Fuentez offer presented a ray of light in the abyss of despair, even though there is no assurance if that is a good decision to trust them, as they once sent Vere to prison, but for now, Vere doesn't have any other choice but to accept. As he was desperately wants to get out of the prison. At that moment, Vere decided not to beat around the bush, and he ac
