The bank

Nathan walked into the local bank, his heart racing with anticipation.

The early morning sun was just beginning to peek through the windows, casting a warm glow on the polished marble floor.

Nathan scanned the lobby, noting that there were few people around. He passed the two guards standing at the entrance, their eyes watching the road outside. As Nathan walked by, he noticed that the guards exchanged a glance, and their eyes seemed to look at him with disdain.

Nathan felt annoyed; he didn't know why the guards were acting that way, but he pushed it aside and continued to the counter.

Nathan walked up to the bank counter, where a female employee was sitting. She looked up at him, but her expression was one of disappointment. Nathan felt embarrassed as he realized she must judge him based on his cheap clothes.

"Can I help you?" the woman asked, her tone cold and distant.

"Yes, I need to withdraw some money from my account," Nathan replied, trying to sound confident.

The woman nodded and began processing Nathan's request. But as she worked, Nathan couldn't help but feel that she was still judging him, and he could have sworn he heard her mutter something reproachfully under her breath.

As she pulled up Nathan's account, her eyes widened in surprise. "Oh my," she stammered. "I'm sorry, sir. I had no idea."

Nathan was bewildered. He was still not sure what was going on. The female stood up, "I'll have to ask the manager to assist you," she said, her tone now respectful. "You're one of our most important clients."

It was only a short time before the female banker left, and Nathan heard a familiar voice behind him.

"Well, well, well," the voice said. "Look who's come into some money."

Nathan turned to see two familiar faces. Hayleigh and Declan.

The man stood confidently, his broad shoulders and tall stature exuding power. He had a strong jawline and piercing gaze. He was impeccably dressed in a tailored suit, radiating a sense of refinement and success. The employees nearby looked up at him with admiring and whispering eyes.

"You two," Nathan said, anger rising in his voice. "What are you doing here?"

Just remembering what happened yesterday made Nathan's blood boil.

"If it isn't Nathan, the poor boy who was a cleaner to make a living?" the man sneered. "Are you here to borrow money from the bank?"

Nathan couldn't believe this guy was still belittling him. "I don't have to explain myself to you," Nathan said, his voice filled with anger. "I have money and don't need to borrow from anyone."

Declan looked surprised, his smirk faltering.

"Have you wondered if you've bought an expensive gift to give anyone?" Hayleigh asked, her voice laced with anger and disappointment. "You are not only poor but stingy, Nathan."

Nathan felt his anger rise even more.

"You still dare to talk to me about money? After the way, you insulted me and treated me like an idiot? I don't owe you anything," Nathan replied, his voice rising. "If you had any self-awareness, you and this parasitic man wouldn't have had the audacity to show your faces in front of me!"

"You should stop acting like that with me, Nathan," Declan said, his tone condescending.

"And stop being so proud. If you do, I might pity you and lend you some money without interest." Hayleigh Graham giggled at that, chiming in with Declan.

Nathan just smiled and said nothing more, his anger was exhausted, and now he just waited for the banker to come back and announce the results.

Declan saw Nathan's silence as disdain and became even more annoyed.

"If the bank interest is too high for you to pay, Nathan," Declan said, his voice filled with malice. "You'll have to come crawling to me, begging for money. And when that happens, don't regret your attitude now."

Nathan smiled faintly, not responding to Declan's threat.

At this time, the female staff led the bank manager to the counter. Their faces were full of respect, even a little bit of tension.

The manager greeted Nathan warmly, "Welcome, Mr Jimenez. It's truly an honor to have a VIP like yourself in our bank. I see that your bank account has reached an impressive hundred million dollars. How much would you like to withdraw today?"

Nathan replied, "I'll need to withdraw a few million dollars today, thank you."

The manager nodded, "Of course, we'll have a special offer just for you. Our team will take care of the transactions for you. Is there anything else we can assist you with?"

As the manager and Nathan talked, Declan and Hayleigh stood by, wholly ignored by the manager and the female employee.
