FINDING COMMON GROUND

Ashton simply couldn’t shake the absurdity of his encounter with the old drunk man. He chuckled to himself again, he could still remember the ridiculousness of their conversation. The old guy had certainly provided a distraction from his unforgetful thoughts about Elizabeth and the bizarre morning they had shared. It was all so unreal that he chuckled to himself again. 

He hung his damp jacket on the coat stand and proceeded to make his way to the kitchen, still chuckling. Maybe he’d share the story with Thomas tomorrow; it was going to make for a good laugh. He made for himself a cup of coffee, he needed the warmth and comfort to feel more at home and to get more sober even though he already was. He casually strolled to the living room and then settled on the couch, letting the day’s events wash over him.
