PAY BACK TIME

At the police station, Ashton was summoned to the interrogation room. He had been through several rounds of questioning already, but this time felt different. As he entered the room, he was surprised to see Rebecca sitting at the table, her expression was cold and calculating. She smiled at him, as if they weren't enemies.

"Rebecca," Ashton said in a steady voice despite the fact that the room was tensed.

"Hello, Ashton," she replied, her tone was that of someone with false sweetness. Like she was pretending to be a sweet person. "I thought it was time we had a little chat." She told him.

Ashton sat down across from her, meeting her gaze head-on.

"What do you want, Rebecca?" He asked her.

"I want you to understand the gravity of your situation," she said. "You’ve been a thorn in my side for too long, and now you’re paying the price. But it doesn’t have to be this way." She told him.

The audacity in her words Ashton thought as he raised an eyebrow.
