"I guess we would find that out shall we not?" She asked him, Rebecca. "Why don't you tell that to everyone and especially her?" She said,

"No." He said and she smiled as she let out a scoff.

Ashton’s words hung in the air, and he watched Rebecca’s face twist into a mask of barely concealed rage. Her eyes flashed with a dangerous look, but Ashton refused to back down. This was his moment to stand firm and confront the woman who had tormented him for so long.

"Elizabeth and I are just friends," Ashton reiterated. "There's nothing more to it."he said and Elizabeth looked at him at the same time that Rebecca let out a tight smile.

"Oh, Ashton, always the noble one. But do you think anyone will believe your lies? You’ve been playing the hero for too long, and people are starting to see through your façade." She said in a venomous voice.

Ashton leaned forward to her and his voice steady.

"The only one playing games here is you, Rebecca. And now, everyone is starting to see the truth
