“Haha, some of you think you can be smart right?” one of the assassins spoke.
“Now, that serves as an example to some of you who think that you are smart.” The guests' eyes were wide with terror as they witnessed Jaffet’s death. Jaffet was well-known in the production industry and many of his employees were going to be affected by his death. It sent shockwaves into everyone inside the hall and their chests constricted with reality. “Now, we are going to get onto business,” the lead assassin spoke. “Like I said earlier already, if you hear your names just signify yourself by a raising up of your hands.” “Anna Swertzmann,” the assassin spoke out loudly. Damn! Anna was the CEO of Ibanes Enterprises, which was under Oscar’s consortium. “Yes, Anna Swertzmann! Where is she?” Anna raised her hands in a slow, terrified motion. Her eyes were heavy with terror and tears were about to fall off her eyes. She didn't understand why someone would want to hurt her so badly. What did the assassins want? Where was Oscar? Wouldn't he come to save them? Her breath came in short, ragged gasp and her chest heaved with the effort of terror as one of the assassins approached her, his feet pounding on the floor with a deadly ruggedness. The whole hall was invaded by the assassins and it looked like they were in total control no one could come save them at that point. They were totally handicapped. The lead assassin noticed Anna’s raised hands and then spoke in affirmation. “Yes, that’s good.” The assassins pounced on Anna like wolves the moment they saw her raised hand. “Please take it easy, please don't hurt me,” Anna screamed in terror and helplessness. Anna was a middle-aged woman who was known for being an industrious CEO. Her nails were undone and one of her heels was lost in the process of the assassins yanking her with a ruthless savagery. The assassins quickly got her tied up. “Kneel!” she was commanded. Anna crumpled to the ground as she surrendered to the harsh treatment of the assassins. She was made to kneel, tears flowing from her eyes as she drowned in her helplessness. The lead assassin continued, his voice booming through the hall. “Now that’s one. The second person we need is Alison Meunier.” Alison was also a female CEO in one of the companies under Oscar’s consortium. She was much younger than Anna though and she was known for her graceful carriage and demure. Alison’s heart pounded in her chest the moment she heard that her name was called by the assassin. No! No! Not her. She wasn't ready to be in their bondage. She wasn't ready to die. Her lungs struggled to fill with air as she heard her name and her panic was a potent force. The assassin yelled her name again. “Allison Meunier! Where is she? Allison’s mind spun with the implications of the choice she was going to make. Her uncertainty was a powerful force that threatened her sanity. She knew that the same thing that was done to Anna was going to happen to her but could she just pretend like she didn't hear her name called? Time was ticking and with each moment she delayed, there might just be consequences. Her gaze was pleading as she raised her hands slowly, awaiting the assassin’s next move. The assassins marched towards her immediately they recognized her raised arm, their force overwhelming her as they pulled her away from the area she was in and brought her to the back of the hall. She was forced to kneel just beside Anna and one of the assassins taped their mouth. They were like rabbits brought to the slaughter and their will was completely seized from them. Oscar’s assistant, Layla Gonzalez was present in the hall. She also had her head bowed like every other person and she submitted her phone too. She hoped that Oscar would have tried to call her because his wondering why she wasn't picking up was one of the clues that he could have into knowing that there was danger in the hall. Layla smartly hid one of her phones immediately when she noticed the assassins came in. She knew that at one point, they were going to ask for their phones so she took the dropped one of her phones and dropped the other in the assasins’ bag. Even though she was searched, they couldn't find the phone because she did it so expertly under her dress. Layla cowered behind a pillar, her body trembling as she tried to conceal herself from the assassin's sight. She then brought out her phone, her fingers dancing across the screen as she sought to find Oscar’s number. Her eyes were wide with terror as she typed on the screen of the phone. Layla darted left and right and saw that there was a woman beside her. Her eyes were sunken with fear and she seemed to have frozen with terror because she saw her press her phone. Layla noticed that the lady might just put her in trouble with the way that she was looking at her so she politely gestured that the woman should turn away from her. Layla also put a finger to her lips, gesturing for her not to dare make a sound. Her hands were nimble as she sent the message to Oscar. [Hey, Mr. Jones, the hall has been taken over by assassins. We need help. Be careful in case you are on your way] That was as much as she could type and immediately she was sure that the message was sent, she put the phone back where she had hidden it.***While the terror was going on, Oscar had dropped Bradley with the authorities and ensured through his influence as the leader of the Jones League of Consortium that Bradley was going to be sent to jail as soon as possible. He was heading back to the event hall. He hoped that the program had not ended because he still had a few more people to humiliate especially George Morgan.George Morgan destroyed his precious heirloom which was the only thing that belonged to his late mother. Oscar wouldn't also forget how George humiliated him after Inara and Arabella faked a situation of him hurting Inara’s baby bump.Oscar had prepared George’s share of humiliation and even though it may not be as potent as the others, he was banking on the possibility that it would unbalance George in some way.He had been putting calls through to the announcer but his calls weren't picked up or returned.Oscar was beginning to wonder what was going on. Layla was also not picking up his calls and that was
There was silence among the guests and everyone’s heart was in their throat. Whatever needed to be done for the assassins to leave the hall and be on their way was what needed to be done.Layla heaved a sigh of relief when she heard Jamie’s name called. Even though it seemed a little selfish, it showed that they were not going to summon her. She had great fear in her heart because she thought that her position as Oscar’s personal assistant was going to draw the assassins in her direction.“Jamie! Where are you?” The lead assassin spoke out again.Jamie’s body was tense and coiled as he tried to blend into the shadows, his fears a potent force that threatened to overshadow him. But he wasn't going to heed their call. If everyone else was just going to keep shut, the assassins might think that the name wasn’t in the auditorium, Jamie thought.“Jamie! I know you are here and for the last time, reveal yourself!”The whole crowd was thrown into fear and confusion as they wondered why Jam
Jamie was still trembling with the effort of maintaining his composure as he hid in the shadows. His heart thudded in his chest as he heard the gunshot that highlighted the death of the innocent man. His fear threatened to consume him as he wondered if it was really a wise idea to remain there and refuse to heed the assassins’ call. But why would he just surrender himself to die? He was most likely more important than the guy the assassins killed anyway, he reasoned.A lot of people would suffer so the people around him who were signaling to him and urging him to surrender himself had better given a second thought.Jamie’s mind twisted and turned, his thoughts a frantic and disorganized mess as he forced himself to ignore the guilt that he was having. He had to drown himself in his own excuses.“Alright, since you are still going to remain there, I guess you have no problem seeing some more innocent persons die.”The lead assassin whispered again to one of his men.Within a moment,
He had to retract as he crept back into his fold where he was lying earlier. The assassins had no hesitation to kill another person as the same guy who had shot the innocent lady earlier pointed the gun at the next lady who was kneeling. The next lady was a brown-skinned lady with freckles across her face and lovely blue eyes. She was loved by many because of her jovial nature but there she was, at the edge of death. The whole crowd of guests was put in a state of shock, bodies legs trembling with a horrified shake of fear as they were about to witness yet another innocent person die at the hands of the assassins. The lady begged for her life, her voice filled with pity and helplessness. “Please reconsider your decision. I’m begging for my life, please listen, please. I am pleading with you.”The assassin laughed scornfully. “Hahaha, it's such a shame that a gorgeous bright lady like you has to die though but you shouldn’t blame me. You should blame Jamie, whoever he is—”The lady cut
“You hid yourself from us all these while because you thought you were smart. You thought you could somehow escape what was coming for you.”“You must be very important to Oscar seeing that you want to protect yourself so much. I am going to love to see the pain on Oscar’s face myself when I finally kill you.”Jamie was too weak to even plead anymore. He just accepted whatever was coming for him. He was dragged along the pavement like a dead log of wood. The lead assassin also followed the other guys. They had completed their exercise and were ready to leave the hall. But one of the assassins walked toward their leader. Whispering into his ears, he spoke. “How about the guy sir?”“Who?”“The guy who revealed who Jamie was to us. Should we let him back into the fold?”“Oh, I see,” The lead assassin’s face came alive as he remembered the secretary guy who snitched on Jamie. He retraced his steps back to the man.At that moment, the man’s heart was a heavyweight in his chest as he didn'
The assassins hurled their captives into the car, their movements showing a display of strength as they were in a hurry to get away from the massive gunfire. Jamie stiffened his body as he was being shoved. Unlike the other captives, Jamie wasn't going to let the assassins have their way in getting him kidnapped. He was relieved earlier seeing that Oscar had come with agents to protect them but things were taking a different turn and he wasn't comfortable with it at all.Three persons had to die inside the hall because he wanted to protect himself. It wouldn't matter if he took some more risks just to maintain his stance, he reasoned. His mind raced with desperate thoughts despite the delicate situation.Jamie wrenched himself, his body coiled and ready as he sprang away from the black sedan, his desperation a powerful force that stunned the assassins. Before the assassins knew it, they saw Jamie as respectable as he was running with such speed in his suit his tie flinging in the ai
“Look how easily you fell into our hands. You know we didn't ask for this. You kind of just entered into our trap.”Oscar’s eyes fluttered, his consciousness teetering on the edge of awareness. His breathing was shallow and weak as he looked like a sick patient. The assassins’ eyes were gleaming with evil as they thought of the best ways to inflict pain on Oscar. He was going to suffer for what he did and watch his business associates die before they finally killed him.“What’s wrong? Can't you keep your eyes open? Don't tell me you are too weak to even face me?” Brian put up a grin expression. “Or are you scared? Are you surprised? Why are you so quiet? Ah! I see that you are just a pathetic coward.”Brian shook his head as if he was having some pity for his victim. The assassin’s words trailed off and he drew back his fist before delivering a hard, brutal punch to Oscar’s face. The blow landed on Oscar’s jaw with a potent cruelty that left him dazed and broken. The sedan’s backsea
“Erm, I don't remember us meeting before now,” Layla spoke. “I am a little surprised you know my name.”Charlotte’s gaze shifted nervously. “Erm, I had to do a little research considering the importance of what I wanted to put to your notice.”“Oh, is that so?” Layla asked.Layla was trying not to get drawn in by Charlotte. She knew that she wanted a divorce with Oscar and being Oscar’s assistant, she wasn't sure if she was to be seen too closely with Charlotte.“Yes, Ms. Gonzalez. I really need your help. You are the only one who could possibly help me in this condition I find myself.”“Okay, I am listening. Let’s get to somewhere there would be fewer eyes on us,” Layla obliged Charlotte’s intention to speak to her. Perhaps she was going to have something reasonable to say, she thought.Charlotte’s words tripped in a deadly stutter of anxiety. “Erm—erm. I know you are close to Oscar and—”Layla shifted uncomfortably when she heard Charlotte mention Oscar’s name. She hoped that she wa
