Oscar’s heart leaped into his throat as he turned back only to meet two able-bodied cops with a baton in their hands and their hands placed strategically on their holsters as if they were expecting a contention.
“Officer, I don’t know why I should be arrested because I have done nothing wrong. I was told that I committed credit card fraud but it’s an absolute lie. They are trying to frame me.” Oscar’s words were tumbling over each other as he desperately tried to defend himself. One of the officers spoke. “Hands behind your back now!” “You are making a mistake, you have the wrong person. I overheard the conversation that proved that Lady Vivian was trying to frame me. What evidence do you have against me?” The officer responded. “I won’t repeat myself, Oscar Jones.” Oscar knew that it was time to succumb to their command. He extended his hands, offering himself to the cuffs as the officer clicked the cuffs into place, securing him. But Oscar remembered his wife. He had to say a few words to her before the cops took him to their station. He had to tell her goodbye and promise that he was going to make it up to her when he returned. “Officer, please allow me to speak to my wife one last time before you take me,” Oscar pleaded desperately. “I just want to say a few words to her. I am sure you understand what family means.” The officers shared a look of contemplation as they processed the request that Oscar made. One of them finally responded. “Alright, but you have only two minutes. I am only allowing you to do this because you are already cuffed.” Oscar quickly rushed into the guest hall with his hands cuffed. He hoped that he could look Charlotte in the eye and tell her how much he loved her and would make things right. “Bwahaha! The loser has finally been arrested,” Arabella threw her head back in laughter as she mocked Oscar while he ran through the guest hall. “How much did you steal this time?” Inara, who had pretended to be hurt in her baby bump also joined in the mockery. “How is it that you look much better on cuffs than without it? You were made for this Oscar, hehe.” “I wish I could give you a few more punches before the cops take you away. Your face should be more battered than this,” George joined in the fun fair. He was enjoying the ridicule and never really cared about Oscar’s innocence. Oscar halted for a moment before scanning their faces. “You all will regret what you have done I promise you.” Immediately Oscar spoke, he hurried towards the stairs leaving behind the derogatory words coming from Inara, Arabella, and George who dared him to show what he was made of. He got to the entrance and knocked gently but there was no response so he increased the intensity. He didn’t want to barge into the room because of the way they parted the other time. But he started hearing a chorus of pleasure and a symphony of moans that emanated from behind the door. The moans kept growing louder and louder until he could no longer take it. In a burst of tension, he flung the door open with aggression. The truth exploded like a bomb within him as he stood frozen as if his feet were rooted to the ground. The image was never going to erase from Oscar’s mind. Charlotte’s eyes fluttered shut and her back ached in surrender as her body was writhing in pressure under a man who was smashing her with a passionate assault. Her moan was a testament to the embrace as her skin flushed with the intensity of the lovemaking. Charlotte leaped apart from the man immediately she realized that it was Oscar. She quickly scrambled for her clothes and her fingers were fumbling with her zippers in a struggle to cover herself. “Young man, what the fvck are you doing here?” The man seethed, his teeth bared in anger. “Are you out of your mind? Are you—” Oscar couldn't even finish his words because of the intense anger that was burning within him as he charged toward the man. His fists clenched as he threw his arms at the man but his cuffs prevented him from attacking. Oscar’s face was a picture of heartbreak as he looked broken, his face a theater of misery as he turned his gaze towards Charlotte who was still fumbling her zippers. “Charlotte, who is this man? Why would you do this to me?” Oscar’s lips quivered with the weight of the betrayal as he spoke. Charlotte’s lips trembled as she braced herself for the weight of her confession. “Oscar, his name is Bradley Stevens. I am sorry you are just finding out about this. I didn't know how to tell you this until before but we have been having an affair for some months now.” Bradley just folded his hands, his gesture a sharp edge of arrogance as a smirk cut across his face. “What?!” Oscar gnarled, his muscles popping out of his neck in anger. “You mean that you have been cheating on me for months? Why would you do that to me?” Bradley cut in, his smirk a sneer of disdain. “You are not deaf, are you? We have been having an affair for a while and now she is about to divorce you.” Bradley then turned towards Charlotte, his disdainful smile worn like a badge of pride. “Or isn’t that so sweetheart?” Charlotte was a statue of silence, her dilemma a heavy burden that made her seem to get lost in a world of confusion until she eventually broke out of her uncertainty and found the courage. “Oscar, I am sorry but he is right. I have put up with you long enough and things didn't change. Here is a divorce agreement. Please just sign it and let’s move on. I am with Bradley now.” Oscar’s eyes were hollow and his face was a mask of shock. His heart shattered like glass as he picked up the divorce paper. He couldn't even look his wife in his face. He couldn't stay there even a second more so he turned his back and stormed off with the divorce file in his hands. “Good riddance!” Charlotte spoke as he left the room and Oscar heard that. The hallway echoed with the sound of Oscar’s footsteps as he was glazed over with grief. He stumbled onward, unaware of his surroundings until he got outside. The cops descended in a torrent of authority as they shoved him into the waiting vehicle with ruthless efficiency. “Haha, he doesn't even look like someone worth the stress,” the cop mocked as he made fun together with his colleague. The cop vehicle swerved through the streets as Oscar was propelled into an unknown fate. He was seated in the backseat and close to the window but his attention was snatched by the thunderous sound of an aircraft overhead. Oscar’s head lifted and his eyes were drawn to the aerial spectacle. He glinted his eyes when he saw something that sucked in his attention further. He narrowed his eyes even more as he saw an inscription clearly written on the aircraft’s belly. [JONES PRIVATE AIRFORCE - TRESPASSERS BEWARE! CODE 10XXV2Q] The inscription danced across Oscar’s mind and his curiosity was heightened. What?! Except for the code, that was the same inscription that used to be on his late father’s private aircraft. Could someone have stolen his aircraft? Could his late father be alive?Oscar’s mind was spinning as he processed the matter. His father, Lord Henry Jones died in a plane crash that killed everyone onboard during the one time that he decided to board a public aircraft.Lord Henry Jones didn't make a will before he died so his half-brother, Ryder Otis forcefully took control and leadership of his large empire leaving Oscar in ruins.More than ever, Oscar felt like escaping the vehicle. His mind raced and his body tensed as the urge to flee away from the vehicle became much more intense. He needed to dial the code on the aircraft that he saw. He remembered the code the same way he knew the day he was born - 10XXV2Q.It was a secret code that he had with the late Henry Jones before he died. They used it to communicate whenever they felt that their enemies and competitors had tapped all public lines of communication. There was no way that code would be on an aircraft if it didn't mean something significant, Oscar reasoned. He had to dial the code, he had to d
“Hey, stand up right away!” The officer spoke immediately, his eyes were gleaming with disdain. Oscar expertly hid the phone under his sleeves before the officer noticed that he sneaked in with it. “We are taking you straight to the prison unit. Put on these clothes and prepare for a mugshot.”Oscar’s eyes bulged with surprise. “What?! Why would I go to the prison without even a court trial?”Oscar then noticed the name tag on the officer’s uniform and addressed him by it. “Officer Franklin, I need a lawyer right away.”Oscar’s declaration was falling on deaf ears as the officer’s lips curled in a smirk of arrogance. Officer Franklin’s eyes were blazing with an unforgiving stare as his boot thudded against the floor before he dashed towards Oscar and shoved him out of the interrogation room with a menacing growl.Oscar was forced to put on the prisoner’s uniform and his face was dampened with sadness. He knew that it was Lady Vivian’s influence that made the officers treat him in s
Oscar’s body trembled with the weight of the reality that he had been exposed to. His features were frozen with a stunned and horrified expression of confusion and for a while, he wasn't sure of how he felt. He just stared blankly.Seeing his father after five years of thinking that he was dead was one thing but finding out that he had cancer and had only a few weeks to live? He wasn't sure if he could accept that. His eyes were sunken with confusion. “This cancer you are talking about. When did you find out about it? When did you get the diagnosis?”Henry’s posture slumped as he didn't want to make things get awkward, especially at such a time. “I got to know about this a few years ago, son. I have tried all sorts of chemotherapy to extend my lifespan. Now, I can no longer keep it going. I have only two weeks to live now.”Oscar’s eyes remained dark and hollow as his disbelief was a suffocating burden on his heart. “No, Dad. You can't just come back alive after four, or five years an
Henry chuckled when he saw the slight excitement in Oscar’s eyes. “You seem a little excited. It's not an exciting task because it takes a lot of vetting. Companies who do not meet up with the latest financial standard cannot just continue with us.”“Oh, don’t you worry. I find it very interesting,” Oscar spoke, the smile was like a permanent stamp on his face. His mind was already brimming with exciting ways that he would humiliate his ex-in-laws and pay them in their coin for what they did to him.“Before I forget, there is someone I need to introduce to you,” Henry spoke.“Who is that?”Henry walked towards his guard and whispered a few words into his ears.In a moment, a lovely feminine spectacle glided through the door. Her walk was a sultry invitation that beckoned the heart and soul. Her hips were swaying in a rhythm that spoke of mystery and temptation. Her eyes were like little diamonds, piercing through the heart of anyone who was trying to maintain composure.Henry turned t
The clapping dwindled into a feeble echo and was replaced by the attendees’ faces turning to a mask of confusion and their lips forming silent questions.Lady Vivian and Arabella couldn't believe it. Their eyes widened with shock as they stared at each other again. Their thoughts were racing in a bid to understand the mystery behind the announcement.Arabella swayed, her feet tripping over each other in confusion as she missed her seat while trying to return to a sitting position but she quickly regained her balance.“What exactly is going on here? Is this a comedy show? Why is Oscar mounting the podium? Is no one going to have anything to say about this?” Arabella turned to Lady Vivian, her voice edged with confusion.Lady Vivian’s mouth was too heavy to even bring out the words that she had in her mind if she had any. “I have no idea, I have no words right now. Maybe we should talk to one of the concierges and ask if there is a mistake somewhere.”Arabella signaled at a concierge cl
Bradley trembled with fear, his mouth hanging open in shock as he tried to understand what had happened. How did his private text messages appear on the projector screen for the world to see? What in the name of a nightmare was he witnessing? No! This couldn't be real, he reasoned. Those were the most secret things and there was no way anyone else could know about them. He had to be in some sort of afterlife situation for this to be happening. His phone had a special and permanent lock that was even different from the other passworded phones. Did someone hack into his phone? Even if someone did, wouldn’t they have to come close to him for that to happen? Wouldn’t they have to steal his phone at least for a moment for it to happen?Bradley couldn’t recall losing his phone for a long time. He was always with his phone and even when he wanted to sleep, he would usually keep it very close to himself. He never took risks with his gadgets because he knew that some scary secrets were conta
Charlotte let out a piercing shriek, her hands flying to her face as if to shield herself from the unbearable reality that she was surrounded with. She started pulling off from the delusion that she had so proudly worn like the high mistress of clowns.“Here are a few graphic proofs to show that the same Bradley Stevens we all know is a member of a drug trafficking organization,” Oscar’s tone was resonating with authority, his hands dipped into his pocket as he waited for the projector screen to pop up with the next line of evidence. The pictures on the projector screen showed a clear link between Bradley and the organ trafficking ring.Everyone in the hall held their breaths as the pictures on the screen showed Bradley talking with people who were known to be organ traffickers and had been wanted by the police for a long time. The next line of images showed Bradley handing over huge sums of money to strange-looking people. One of the images even showed a glass case where something th
Bradley instead of stepping back moved further forward, his eyes filled with a hidden desire to play smart. He quickly used his body to block their view before shoving one of the officers, knocking him off balance in an instant.Bradley then found an open space to run into, taking the opportunity to run towards the glass door. He then smashed through it with ease before sprinting out of the hall and into the streets.Oscar was just about to get to Bradley when he stormed out of the hall.“Get him!” Oscar yelled at the top of his voice. The officers took off after Bradley, their boots pounding against the ground in a relentless pursuit. The other officers who couldn't pursue after Bradley had their radios crackling with updates and commands as they sought to remain in strategic positions to intercept Bradley.Bradley sprinted across the terrain, his lungs burning with effort as he pushed his body to its limit. He couldn't afford to get himself caught because it would expose the organ
