Chapter 201: An Illusion

On the day that Mildred was telling Bethany what really happened and how and why she suspected Scott was up to something and probably behind her kidnap and attempted murder that she lied was just a random robbery, Alicia had overhead them.

When she came into the house that day, she had overhead the two women speaking in hushed tones as she approached Bethany's room, so she decided to make hot chocolate for three of them to just get into girls chatter and talk about different things but when she got back, she could hear the conversation clearly and knew Mildred was trying to keep it a secret from everyone so she eavesdropped and got out of sight.

She had been having her own mild suspicions about Scott lately and Mildred's confession only made it heighten.

She started to pay more attention to how touchy Scott had become towards her, the words he would say, the way he would praise her, his mannerisms and gestures towards her.

Compared to the way he was in the past, it was very different.
